It's so hard to decide whether to visit Villefranche-sur-Mer, Nice, Eze, or Monaco if you have only 1 day. They are all so beautiful. Thanks for the beautiful video!
Yes, that’s a tough one. Depends a little on your taste. Monaco is something truly unique. Eze is a fairy tale. Nice is beautiful, Villefranche as well…
Enjoyed your video thanks. I was there in mid December and although it was lovely, I was disappointed that all the shops were closed there and in Eze. Do you know when Villefranche and Eze’s attractions and cafes etc are open please, as I’d love to visit again when there is more going on please? Cheers from Australia
Hi to Australia! Oh yes, small places like Eze and Villefranche and Saint Paul etc. are pretty much asleep in winter - even though it’s a nice season for visiting (well, there may be a week of rain). The difference is: there are no crowds, everywhere it’s calmer… Restaurants and touristy shops often close for a month or more in winter, at least in smaller towns and villages. In March, most places should be open again. The main tourist season is from Easter to the end of October, so that’s when you can expect everything to be open and running. 😊
Any place next to the old town would be good, maybe the tourist office - from there you can walk to the citadel, through the old town, to the promenade road (where the restaurants are lined up) and to the beach (where you can catch a train to Nice). Should you plan to walk back to Nice along the coastal path, do it the other way round: get dropped off near the beach. 😊
Does this include the train from Nice to Ville France Sur Mer? Should I validate that ticket too? Sorry for asking. I got fined 160 EUR for my whole family yesterday after I took the tram from the airport to the city centre 😢. I didn't know this and now I am scared of getting into the train. So just asking to make sure.
