I have only been to France once in the whole of my life, and that was by cruise ship in 2009. And of all the places it could have been, it was, in fact, Villefranche sur Mer. I thought it was beautiful.
Great video, thanks for the tips! My favourite place on Earth. Was there at the start of June and you drove past me in your distinctive car, my wife and I were a little starstruck, I must say! PS La Serre is wonderful, as you say, fabulous pizzas! Stayed at Le Darse where hotel prices were VERY reasonable, compared to the Welcome. Much recommended.

Villefranche Sur Mer is between Monaco and Nice, if I’m not mistaken! A popular watering hole for the wealthy snd royalty and its a charming port town on the Mediterranean. Can see why you guys call it home and congratulations on Mr. Boo’s 40th birthday! You have a lot to look forward to in the decades ahead. 😊
I've watched so many of your videos and enjoyed them all, I've always liked but never commented just haven't got round to it really, can I just say that I enjoy them immensely. We had a holiday down there we were west of Grasse….. at a place called Peymeinade….. staying at a little Villa…… I do envy you…..an not that expensive if like you , nose around for those special places.😎👌🏼
I wished Monsieur Boo a happy birthday last week but maybe I was the wrong side of the week. So, more 🎉🎁🎉🍻 I've been to Villefranche quite a few times, sadly the last time was a few years ago because my life wallet isn't quite as healthy now. As soon as that's rectified I'll be back, hopefully next year

Absolutely love Le Serre 😘🇫🇷 Its a great favourite of ours when we are in Villefranche, I can almost taste the steak forestriere and mouse au chocolat as we speak 😊 Another favourite of ours is La Tavola just across from the Casino supermarket, if its still the nice Italian lady who runs it 😊 Our nightly after dinner treat is a drink at the Wine Pier at the Welcome Hotel, people (and in my case) car watching 😉🍷

I just found your vlog! We are returning to Villefranche-sur-Mer next year via cruise ship. Last visit was in 2010 where we stayed at Hotel Welcome for three nights. Had no idea it was a famous hotel. We’re just going to re-explore the village this time. We also talk about returning for a proper visit to celebrate a major married milestone.

You even pointed out bus stops, great secret beaches, even beaches that have pebbles where you need footwear (!)🩴, picnic spots, quiet places for drinks and nosh as well as more lively ones, which are the pricey and more reasonable spots...I could easily spend time there, with exception to all that climbing of stairs! Not for me, but I am sure that there would be plenty to see and do sur la plage....👒 📚📻
@@MeandMonAmi we loved it! We stayed in a little apartment overlooking the harbor, just behind Le Cosmo. We were there for the July 4th celebrations and it was great! So happy we chose to stay in Villefranche-sur-Mer rather than Nice. Much quainter and relaxed. Thanks again for the recommendations in the videos!

A French word that I heard in French movies was "pied-a-terre." This always confused me. In English it looks like "foot in the land" but pied-a-terre actually means a small flat or house in the city for occasional use. Do people still have pied-a-terres or are they all AirB&Bs now? Happy birthday to Mr. Boo! Ms. Twiggy is looking very demure but we are all in love with her.
Oh I think there are many second homes/ pied a terre’s that aren’t rented out and the ones that are are often used by owners partially during the year. Twiggy is great but she isn’t a fan of walking!

The AMI finally sells in switzerland. At 9000 / 9900 euros. WTF? Is the french price of 7000 euros including VAT? We got 8% vat while france got 19% vat. I sure will not pay the 3000 euro "stupid tax" they try to impose in switzerland.
