Actually they weren't close at all. Nick always bullied Aaron. Aaron spoke up about the abuse he endured from Nick. If you watch The Carters: Nick was an asshole and a bully.
Aaron ended up being the perfect example of what happens when a kid is brought to the spotlight and doesn't have a steady support system surrounding him. I bet that the reason Nick is still around is that his homies in the band have supported him, or else, chances are he would either be in a dark place or have followed the path of Aaron and Leslie a long while ago. Their parents did not care for them. Makes me think of people like Lindsay Lohan and Corey Feldman. Others were more lucky, like Emma Watson. Guy was messed up, but that's because he did not get the help he needed. RIP.

He got help but professional help sometimes messes you up even more. He was on 6 psychiatric medications. Who knows what that effect did on his brain. I know this because I've been on psych meds before and it's a horrible experience from extreme side effects to dependence and withdrawal symptoms.
I feel bad for Aaron. He had no help emotionally and was hanging out with the wrong people. His mother was his manager when he was a kid and he was under the same label with the creator, con-man (big ponzi scheme), Lou Pearlman who created BSB, LFO, NSYNC, etc. Both took advantage his money when he started. His mother used her kids as quick way to get rich and wasn't supporting Aaron emotionally as a parent but acting like a manager. She wrote books about her sons to make more money for herself. Aaron had to filed for bankruptcy in his 20's. Working throughout his time as a kid and big star. Sold many albums, tours across the country -- singing and dancing on stage. His childhood was stolen from him and left with hardly anything from all those years of work 😔.
@Random Commenter Nick has said his mother is a narcissist. Aaron could have a cluster B personality disorder like his mother, seems very likely as its often genetic. I personally think he has all the hallmarks of someone with Bordeline Personality Disorder just from what we see.
And it’s worse now. Cause Aaron passed away a month ago. R.I.P. sweet Aaron. Hope he’s in Heaven with God. And be in peace. It’s way better than here on earth.

i remember first hearing aarons party (come get it) on the now 5 cd & that was how i first heard of him. i had the album, oh aaron & another earthquake! when they all came out. i remember first hearing one better & saturday night on radio disney when i was 10 too. i was soooo glad he was back when dance with me came out in 2009, listened 2 it nonstop & put it on my old ipod. i voted 4 him on dancing with the stars that year too. i listened 2 fools gold a lot when it came out too. r.i.p. aaron :( u were one of the biggest damn parts of my childhood & i’ll never 4get u :(

This makes me so sad. I remember all of this from when I was a kid. Aaron was around my age. Maybe about a year older than me? He definitely deserved better. They all did. The industry is a cruel and evil place especially for children. Hopefully he is getting all of the peace and love in the after life that he was not receiving here on Earth. Not only 90s kids, I was born in 2004 and I was definitely a big fan of Aaron, he was my first crush, it was mainly due to the fact that my father often put some songs of the Backstreet Boys in the house so 😄
I’m from Canada, and used to watch YTV Hitlist almost religiously as a kid. Remember this interview like yesterday. Sad how their relationship has turned out today. Hopefully things get better for the future.
How time quickly passes by and how change became eminent on these two brothers. If only things could have stayed the way they are the innocence, respect, and love of Aaron for Nick and vice versa. Things change. Now Aaron has embraced the dark side!

I'm probably gonna get hate for saying this but there's a certain darkness about Nick that is visible here, even. It's in the eyes. Aaron seemed like a much sweeter person but also a bit too sensitive for this world, he craved to be recognized and his thirst for love and acceptance was like.. Wayy too intense. Even when Aaron went on the doctors TV show for "help" he was most focused on all the love he was receiving- everything was finally about him and there was no Nick in the picture. He just wanted to be accepted so bad, for someone to be like "you're just as good as your brother, you can be something big also.. You're also a star". Aaron felt undeserving of everything because he probably wouldn't have had all the same opportunities without his brother Nick.... Aaron felt like he didn't really have his own identity, his own brand. He didn't want to be known as "the troubled sibling of Nick Carter" and he knew there was a genetic component but also that he made dumb decisions over and over again... Even his sister was an addict. I don't know about their parents but I'm gonna assume messed up ssshit happened behind the scenes. I'm also feeling Aaron wasn't really sure about fatherhood, a part of him didn't really want it.. It was the end of his youth, sort of. Being young and the younger brother was all he knew. I also feel he had problems with settling down with just one person, not really the marrying type.. His bisexual feelings tormented him like "do I wanna be with a woman or a man or should it be some kinda poly situation, open relationship.." Nick.. Sort of became overprotective of his brother, "I'm your father, your guardian" and since Aaron was born to be a free spirit unlike Nick it felt super smothering for him. Perhaps also because he knew Aaron was sensitive and that the show business world is harsh and brutal, that it all could result in death if you're not careful.. And Nick's worst fear became a reality.

Did anyone see that fight with Nick and Aaron? I can definitely see both of them getting on each other’s nerves, fighting, and being brothers. Although, I don’t know why I feel like Nick has a very dark side himself but just knows how to hide it way better.
We all have a dark side. All of us has bad tempers, bad habits, bad characteristics. But part of growing up is fixing those imperfections and/or controlling them. A child has no impulse control and has tantrums when they are upset. Adults either take control of the situation before problems happen and if there are problems or if something makes them upset, adults don't throw tantrums. I think Aaron was in the spotlight too early and too young and that unlike Nick who had to share the fame with other BSB members and was in his mid teens when the group became popular, Aaron was overwhelmed by such fame and attention. He didn't grow up normally like other kids did. This I think influenced Aaron's development
I do feel sorry for Aaron. All he wanted was a big brother he could learn from and look up too. That's why he's bitter now, because he never had that and he still craves it.

@@eijamieja5694 Nick tried to help Aaron multiple times. So did his other siblings. He's just freaking hard to reach out to. BJ spoke about it.The big difference is Nick was seeking help and he got it from the BSB, Aaron rejects the help and thinks everyone is to blame except himself. Nick wanted to change his life, Aaron only says so but doen't really want it. Did you see how he behaves and treats people on Instagram? You cannot help someone who doesn't want the help. The only way is to separate. He freaking threatened Nick's pregnant wife life. I wish Aaron the best though and I hope he really decides to get help.
