The end of Nick GaS (Games And Sports For Kids) on the morning of April 23rd 2009 at 3:00am eastern time.
In the original switchover on December 31st 2007,all cable and satilite switched from Nick GaS to The N,however, due to transition problems,Dish Network kept Nick GaS on the air.On April 23rd 2009 at 3:00am eastern time,Nick GaS made an unexcpeted and unannounced switchover to Cartoon Network West,or better known as ToonWest, the western feed of Cartoon Network. The loop finally ended with Ledgends Of The Hidden Temple.
Basicly, the reason Nick GaS was to close was because MTV Networks and Viacom had decided that Noggin and The N needed to be seperate channels,so seeing that Nick GaS wasn't doing very good at the time, they decided that The N would split from Noggin, leaving Noggin as it's own channel, and would then replace Nick GaS and become it's own channel. This was announced on July 27th 2007.On December 31st 2007 at 6:00am eastern time,Nick GaS switched to The N after an episode of Figure It Out.However,DirecTV and Dish both experinced problems during the switchover. At 7:25am eastern time,DirecTV switched Nick GaS over to The N full time, while Dish continued to have problems.Nick GaS was brought back to the air running on Disn only.It was said for the channel to close again on January 31st 2008,however,it stayed on for longer than anyone expected. On April 21st,it was said that ToonWest at channel 181 was said to be moving to 177,where Nick GaS was located on Dish.No one expected it,but on the morning of April 23rd 2009 at 3:00am,Nick GaS switched to ToonWest after an episode of Ledgends Of The Hidden Temple. The N later moved to channel 181 on May 5th 2009.Nick GaS was also a former part of the online service TurboNick, now known as Nick Video.
