I remember when this happened i was waiting for the next show to come on then it cut to the n and i dropped what was in my hands and said no this can not be happening !
They better bring back Nick Gas back on TV right now or else I will call Nickelodeon and tell them to have that channel back on and bring back the shows that were nostalgic and fun to watch!
no, Viacom and MTV Networks needed The N and Noggin to be seperate channels, which made all cable and sattelite watching Nick GaS would then turn into The N in December 31, 2007 at 6:00AM. But for some reason, DirecTV kept the channel until 7:25AM on the same day, while Dish kept the channel until April 23, 2009. The loop ended on Legend of The Hidden Temple at 3:00AM Eastern Time. After the station ID, the channel where Nick GaS is (177) was going to be replaced with CN West, at channel 181. So after the station ID, it showed a black screen and then Squidbillies, a show part of Cartoon Network for adults called [adult swim]. So that's how Nick GaS was gone. Later on, in May 5, 2009, The N moved to channel 181.
I can't believe it's been 16 years now since Nick Gas has been gone. I still miss Nick Gas to this day. Still heartbreaking. NickGames on the PlutoTV app didn't even come close.
You are correct, they wanted to split Noggin and The N as seperate channels, Nick Gas was taken off and their programming was moved to Turbo Nick, but if you had Dish Network they kept Nick Gas until April of 2009.
Lol I know it’s so random. They did have video games on that channel for a brief time. And then they just played the same commercials on loop forever lol
I loved this channel when I was in 3rd grade. I remember the morning of December 31st 2007 going to the channel to watch NG and it was some completely different program and commercials, and thinking “what??? What happened to Nick Gas???”
I miss nick gas it was the greatest channel in all of existence especially encouraging kids to play sports and get healthy and energetic. this channel always encouraged me to do that. The N or whatever the heck it's called sucks.
It was an episode of Figure it Out on the morning of December 31, 2007. Though for Dish Network customers, they were able to keep the channel up until April 23, 2009. After a showing of Legends of The Hidden Temple, it was replaced by the West Coast feed of Cartoon Network, which started to show an episode of the [adult swim] show, Squidbillies.
Viacom Media Networks, formerly MTV Networks back in 2007, agreed that Noggin (Now Nick. Jr) and The N (Now TeenNick) needed to be separate channels. They made the decision of discontinuing Nick GaS due to low rating and were only just playing reruns of game shows that were on Nick. And moving it to TurboNick as an online service.
GAS and the N started out cool but overtime they just axed out shows to the point where it's nothing but the same shows on there. As much as I wasn't a fan of the drama shows they aired, at least the N had a balance of yesterday and today's programmings. Nick Gas already axed out most of their programming like Speed Racer, What Would you Do, the 1980's/early 90s Double Dare, etc.
I miss Gas, The channel had some annoying shows, but it was much better than all the stuff on The N, which is now Teen Nick, the only good part of that being That '70's Show.
