"It's Your Move" as originally performed by Doug Parkinson, and later Diana Ross. I do not own this song, this is my conception of it. linktr.ee/ct.r...
My tired ass saw the snakehaired dude and thought that the song's title is Nick James (the snake hair dude's name), and it was performed by "It's Your Move"
I don't understand why you won't say yes But you won't say no Saying "no you shouldn't" You keep holding out But you won't let it go I've given up On trying To sell you things That you ain't buying It's your move I've made up my mind Time is running out We can't move on
Thank you so much man! Throughout my time working with recording and sound, I've often tried to write my cover arrangements with a "remix" style in mind, paying homage to whatever other recordings and arrangements exist. When I dedicate myself to studying a piece of music, I fall in love with it. With the hypnotic sound of the remix, I saw a duty to manifest an arrangement embodying that same element. This was actually my very first project in Ableton, which is still my primary DAW. It'll be 5 years old in November. 😊
Glad I could help! 😊 Seriously, the warmest musical feeling to know I made a difference in your day. Thank you for sharing! Hope things start looking up. 🤙 You're never 100% alone, even if it feels that way.
@@CT-Records i think you should probably tag to the mac plus version of the original song since that's the more popular version of the song now, it could bring more attention to this.
@@doom5895 I have terms like "Machintosh Plus," "Vektroid," and "vaporwave" tagged in the video info, but alas to no avail. I admit I don't know how the tagging system works. RU-vid's search algorithm is an enigmatic, seemingly deliberate hinderance to smaller, less animative creators like myself. So I occasionally try to outdo it by rendering musical commentary content in regards to popular internet memes, or pop culture in general. I changed the video title, so I hope that helps. Thank you so much for showing interest!
@@CT-Records your welcome and good luck with your music journey, you should try using other platforms too since youtube itself isn't too great for small creators anymore.
@@DmitriDmitri Thank you sir! 😊 I'm so glad you dig it! To be honest, this was quite an early track of mine in terms of music production. The music I've released since is a lot more coherent. Although this was a a guilty, fun project!
Oh yes I could never top one of the foremother queens of pop. But I felt Mac +'s remix alluded to an arrangement of the original composition to fit the internet generation. I'm glad you dig it man, thank you!
It is! A Fender Jazz through an Ampeg BA-600. Phat, vintage sound. I composed the midi drums around the bassline and wrore the bass contrapuntally against the melody. Tried to activate more textures in my own arrangement. I'm glad you dig it!
Sincerely very glad that everyone who commented and liked is digging this! This was my very first project I put together in Ableton live, almost 3 years ago. I've gotten much better at producing since then, and I write original music. Check out my album The Denim Heart on my page or streaming elsewhere! Thank you so much for listening!
doug parkinson? first i'm hearing of him, i thought 'america' were the first to perform it. Looks like both came out the same year :S odd one. Good cover though bud eitherway.
Thank you so much for listening! I appreciate your feedback! This was one of my first studio projects in my DAW, and I'm so proud of the positive reception!
Thank you for listening! Yeah, you can sample the intro. Shout me out if you can! RU-vid copyright claimed this track when I originally posted it, so just a forwarning. They don't have the same respect I do for "creative commons."
Can't wait for someone to sample this in another vaporwave song, and then for that to be covered, and then for the cycle to repeat until it sounds basically totally different from the original Diana Ross song.
No idea why RU-vid recommended me this just now but I absolutely love this cover. Is it on SoundCloud? Spotify? If not, you should definitely upload it. Great listen!
Shoegaze action! This was my VERY FIRST Ableton project, so I agree it sounds rather rough. My original music releases are much more refined. Check out my album, The Denim Heart!
Thank you so much! That seriously does mean a lot! I'm super happy that this seems to have hit the Al Gore Rhythm, it's the most viewed video on my channel! So I appreciate the support of all listeners and fellow music lovers!
