People like to give Kyrgios shit but watching this can make anyone appreciate why he was so hyped, the guy has an unbelievable talent for tennis. He can hit the serve ridiculously hard and consistently off a low toss, with such technique that reading it is almost impossible. His topspin forehand can be spun to the most acute angle or slapped flat and harder than almost anyone else and his backhand stays low and is sweetly timed, making trading with him tough for even the best movers. He reads the game well and plays with great instinct, bravery and variety. There is absolutely no question he is a better tennis player than Zverev, Tsitsipas or Thiem, probably better than Nadal and Djokovic too. The difference is that they have made their lives about tennis and to Nick it is just a job. Please Nick, get a properly experienced physical trainer and coach, stop just travelling with your mates. People want to see you play like this again and your body is no longer young enough to get away with being lazy.

Better than Rafa & Novak loooool you know what they say ? sports fans have a short memory! he’s almost 10 years younger than them. He’s is a unique & very talented player but don’t get too carried away, you don’t win over 20 grand slams by just dedication mate lots of players dedicated their whole life to tennis & barely left with 5 slams! It’s mental strength, talent, dedication, hard work & consistency

@@AllthingsMoroccono im late but kyrigios does have the talent level of Andy Murray for example probably quite a lot higher. Is he the big 3 level? Maybe honestly. to win that many slams requires a certain mindset, it's part of the game Kyrgios lacks. You can't say he is "better", I'd say he is probably more naturally talented as he barely puts in work compared to the top guys (I remember him saying he played just 30 mins a day)

@abhishekkhandkar 3 года назад
@James Smith watch his matches against the top three. Every first encounter against them, he has won it. All I am saying is that his raw talent is parallel to that of Federer. A proof - 2017 Federer in his almighty form faced Nick at Miami. That match had it all. Both of them going at it. Of course it's still not the best Federer we have ever seen. His footwork has significantly slowed down in the recent years, but he was in amazing form within those two months. And well the only match that came close to him was rhe one against Nick. Just watch it again and you will see what I mean. Fed beat Rafa like Rafa was a nobody and yet Nick went toe to toe against him, till the third set tie break.
@kamalphukan15
@kamalphukan15 3 года назад
While I agree that Nick is a talent powerhouse but calling him as good a player as Roger is a huge overstatement. Roger today is a pale shadow of what he was in his prime. A prime Federer would have walked all over Nick. That being said Kyrgios could have surely been successful if he were to set his heart and soul into tennis.

Kyrgios must show some genuine respect at least while shaking hands across the net with Rafa & Novak. They both deserve it as much as Federer. In fact, out of the Big 3, Kyrgios seems to dislike Rafa the most for the reason best known to him (i.e. Kyrgios) only, though he doesn't seem to hold any ill-feelings against Federer. Kyrgios's all such on court weird behaviour is certainly one of the main reasons that despite being hugely talented till date he hasn't won even a Master Series Title, let alone winning a Slam...👎

Such a pity as Kyrgios had all the natural talent in the world to win grand slams but unfortunately not mentally, all too much for him to handle. And now at 26 he’s not physically fit enough either, he doesn’t train or practice and his posture is shocking from playing too many video games. Just recently at Wimbledon he was playing really well yet he retired injured because his body wasn’t up to playing more than 3 rounds because he’s so unfit. I think when he’s 40 he’ll regret it, a case of coulda, shoulda, woulda…

@@DanielBoonelight You have to remember that Nick only beat Novak in 2017 which was Novak's worst year in his career. Heck he even lost to players like Cecchinato and Chung that year. So you can't read too much into those losses. I don't think Nick is in between his ears at all and we would know for sure if he was good enough to reach later stages of any tournament where Novak is almost always waiting.

durrrrrrr..... glass-half-empty-human: i guarantee in an entire storied career that spans two decades, given the tiny-margins level of contesting that these talents are operating at, there are always match points that go many ways. which is waay better than players who never see these situations i promise. the margins are slim at that level. he's saved a freaking TON of important ones too. but you wouldn't notice those at all, would you? great champion. you're just being debbie downer on him bc you want to see it that way.

No doubt there will be lots of critical comments of Kyrgios on here but what about all the good things he's done for people. Last year he went into a supermarket and spent $8,000 dollars on food for people during the Covid crisis and personally delivered it to people who were unable to go out and get it themselves.How many other tennis players would have done that? He also donated $60,000 dollars ($200 for each ace he served) to the victims of Australia's terrible bush fires in 2020, and raised another five million dollars in exhibition matches. He has his own foundation too which does great work with underprivileged youngsters in Canberra. He also had a period of depression which eventually made him believe that tennis is not the most important thing in his life, and he appears to be in quite a good place at the moment, so perhaps we should reflect before criticising him. How many of us have done the good things he's done?
@michaelpemulis2041

So his net worth is over $8 million and he is supposed to be some saint for donating roughly $68,000 to charitable causes (less than 0.9% of his net worth...). The vast majority of the congregants at my church (including myself) are more charitable than he, not even to mention the lack of sportsmanship he brings to the game. A couple PR stunts donating the prize winnings of a single tournament is supposed to justify a career of bad behavior?

We're the elitist ones, eh bud?! So WE don't know shit about how much talent NK possesses & he's "worthy of a Grand Slam title", despite the fact that he's never even made it to the semi-final of any Slam & he hasn't even advanced beyond the freaking 3rd round at Roland Garros or Flushing Meadow - so by what metric is NK "worthy of a Grand Slam", then? For simply playing a bunch of 'tweeners & other assorted trick shots, pffft...well thank fucking Christ tennis isn't a sport that's decided by judges, such as MMA & boxing (besides KO's, of course) & gymnastics, diving & skiing, plus surfing, skating, freestyle BMX & a bunch of other 'sports' that are really more hobbies rather than sports...

Although I disagreed with virtually everything that you wrote in your first post, I should point out that as an Aussie, I'm actually one of the minority down here who is quite ambivalent toward him, whereas most of us detest the guy & invariably cringe whenever he makes news...sure, I think that he's pretty tacky in many ways but his phenomenal talent is without question & having met him a couple of times down here (at the Oz Open), I can verify firsthand that he's not a bad guy, plus he can be awesome fun to watch when he's on his game rather than tanking a match...but you only get what you put into things in this world & I've been saying for years now that the guy's gonna regret not having trained harder to fully exploit that über-rare & special talent of his & sadly, it'll be too late when he does...but NO ONE is "worthy of a Grand Slam title" without actually going out there & actually winning one & Nick's simply neither physically nor mentally equipped to be able to defeat 7 of the very best men's players within a two-week period, it's that bloody simple!
