They have worked hard to get Echoes as close as this! Well done! I have followed Pink Floyd all my life! First saw them City Hall Newcastle in 1969. They travelled on the same train, same carriage back to Kings X. Great memories!
I appreciate and honor what David Gilmour has decided what is appropriate for him. However, I am very glad to hear this once again played by a member of Pink Floyd. It is also a suiting tribute to a musician who made incredible impressions to the frontiers of music, and to the careers of future musicians.
It is sad that Gilmour will no longer play this live. Thanks Nick for keeping the Pink Floyd classics alive. My favorite version though is Live at Pompeii.
I saw them in York. Utterly mind blowing. Incredible sound. Wonderfully performed by world class players. Gary kemp what a legend. Playing with his hero. I filmed part of this myself but wanted to just listen to it. I also got to meet the band after still can't believe I met Nick Mason! Go see this while you can people 😊
Saw them in Cardiff last night. Gary Kemp a revelation. Echoes and Set the Controls were in particular wind blowing. Awesome night. Thank you Lee Harris for setting everything up
I saw Nick twice in the Austria and twice in the Czech rep., and can´t wait to see him again this year in Graz, the shows are full of the early floydian magic...
I first saw Floyd on the meddle tour and then the world premier of Dark Side at the Finsbury Park rainbow in 1972. Subseqiuently saw them in Torono and Buffalo New York in the following winter. Memories are made of these.
Same. In miami.. had tapes, maybe not all lost. Real cool in quad: the seagulls flew around The Hollywood Sportatorium. Water's teeth were terrifying in Be careful... I was 4th row in '72..
One of the exciting things about owning a Nord Stage keyboard is that you can use the Lesley effect on one of the Pianos, and lo and behold you are Pink Floyd!
❤❤❤ I will see Nick in Ostend the 3.7. Can't wait. Also will see David Gilmour in the RAH in London on the 9.10. Looking forward to it. Greetings Dirk Belgium.
Met Nick Mason & he is the nicest guy going! Thought he be grumpy & he was completely the opposite! Agree why David wont play it as done it 2006 tour with Rick & dosent feel right for him to play it without Rick! However the Saucers are probably is close to a Floyd music experience. 👌💯👍
Still trying to process Gary Kemp's involvement with this. A big talent and his all time favourite album is....."Liege and Lief"!! Extraordinary!. Whatever misdemeanors he committed with SB, Gary...I absolved thee...go forth my man and record an album with Nick and Mates before it's too late
Remenber also that Guy Pratt, playing bass here played bass on both the mega tours for Momentry Lapse and The Division Bell back in the 80's and early 90's, so I'd say he's a 'member' of Pink Floyd also.
Guy Pratt is playing here? I didn't know that he went on the tour with Nick, but now that you mention it,,, I hear him.. The certain little things that distinguish his bass playing. Way cool- and yes, I'd consider him a member of Floyd.
I can't get enough of this almost classical piece of music , 50 years ago , i was 16 years old then, I bought the album Meddle, in my opinion the best album of PF.👍🏽
I saw them after a couple of delays because of covid in 2022. I think with this project Nick is somewhere rendering himself justice. He deserved the musical project he didn't find in the past. I am wondering if Guy Pratt is joining Gilmour's brief tour and then stop the collaboration with Nick for a while
Original vintage Floyd never tried to reproduce music from the albums live on stage. That was part of the magic that disappeared when additionnal musicians came in to try to emulate the albums.
As close to perfect as I have ever heard it. even the time is 30 seconds short of the album timing. Only thing I would point out is that the piece is playing just a little slow but not much.
If David Gilmour refuses to play this masterpiece live due to Richard Wright's passing... I think that's the ultimate tribute not only because of Richards passing but as a close friend and the magic couldn't be replicated without Richard Wright, who says it's all about the music... it's very close but when friendship enters the equation nothing else comes close, both of those guys bounced off each other musically and personally as friends and that's a rare gift and unmeasurable in the world of Rock and Roll
With all due respect to Nick Mason, and his rights, it's a strange effect to see other (paid) musicians playing and praising themselves with Pink Floyd's music, sounds and songs. I find it obnoxious! I find it disrespectful to the fans and aficionados of P.F. and to the members of the original band. Other Pinks have done similar things... However, mine is a hot emotion, without thinking too much about it.
Gilmour not playing Wish You Were Here is like Springsteen not playing Born to Run. Pretentious and cruel to those who will pay good money to hear his new age crap.
one day you people may come to realize the brain is not the mind if our senses are our minds... it is that simple... it is the magnetic lines of flux emanating from the center of our planet that is responsible for aligning things....
