@@Gumbo72203 Momentary Lapse Of Reason, Session bass. When Endless River came out I read that both that album and the Division Bell had bass collaboration in the studio by Levin, uncredited! Levin is huge! And Guy Pratt is as huge!
@@igoralencar2494 yes of course, he moved on with his life after being the biggest Ass**le and a musical genius of the group! But without PF he is nothing! On the other hand Gilmour, Mason, and at the time Wright, they continued creating beautiful music!

It was a great gesture from Roger giving that support for this new life of Nick. I really appreciate see this. Hope one day, David does the same for Nick.
@@spitfireaace I suspect David is completely done with anything to do with Pink Floyd. The only reason this latest single was released under the name Pink Floyd was to generate attention and donation revenue. I don't think there will be any more Pink Floyd tours or concerts, let alone new music (unless David finds some other worthy cause, which is not likely to happen). But it does look like he's not completely retired from music, as there are some rumours that he is working on a new solo album. We might hear one or two Pink Floyd songs in concert, if he decides to have a concert, but it will the same mellow classics written by him, like Fat Old Sun and the like.
The moment Nick and David do something together, legally it is Pink Floyd and that brings with it a whole host of contractual matters - so it is just not as easy for David to do this as Roger.
@@redrick8900 I completely agree in the sense that it is not perfectly in time, but to me perfect tempo means his tempo is perfect for the song. Just my take.
Just saw this show at the Beacon last night, glad I caught it, I've seen Pink Floyd 27 times as well as going to see their solo acts. Nicks selection of songs were awesome to say the least. The large majority of which I've never seen played live, if you get a chance go see this show, 2 thumbs up
I had tickets for Memphis, TN and was going to take my daughter there for her first concert and it got cancelled during Covid and never resheduled. Huge bummer for us.
@@mine7292 Being in this biz I've seen dozens of these 'surprise guest' appearances, and yes they are rehearsed soundck'ed to a large degree. But something as little as Roger going up on the riser to hug Nick is just spur of the moment spontaneity on Roger's part. And Roger knows how to treat his friends and fans.
This was such a killer tour. As a huge fan of early Floyd it was an indescribable joy to see a live show more akin to their pre-Dark Side days. I felt like I had a front row seat at Pompeii!
Cool moment. Happened once before when David and Roger played that set for the Hoping Foundation. Guy played bass for the parts of the set in which Roger played acoustic guitar.
Roger, an absolute musical genius, and a great guy. I think we all have so so much to thank him for. Thank you Roger for making our life so much better.
@@melinda82 : Well, it's more DSOTM, WYWH and Animals that are boring and often depressing, AMLOR+TDB too... The Wall and the Final Cut are different, these are LETHAL !!! I knew several persons who did suicide attempts, thanks to these (as well as Alan Parker's movie)... Some were... "successful"... The Wall is even more effective than Gloomy Sunday when it comes to entering the Darwin Awards
I wrote that somewhere else but this post is more lively i see :D I actually think that Roger was well awared that there is a second part as he wrote that song. but later i can see Roger's showing that Gary is still playing so he had time to rest and drink out of the stage and quite frankly, i can see him little bit frustrated. that's my guess :D
Then why did Roger all but kick Nick out of the band during the 1980-1985 period. He treated Nick badly, and he treated Rick even worse. There should never be any drummer recording Pink Floyd albums other than Nick Mason.
@@beatlesrgear That's Richard you're thinking of, Nick was still on good terms with Roger before the lawsuit. In the early 2000s before Live 8, Nick and Roger reconciled and are still great friends to this date. And they both meet in their first term of architecture school back in 62'.
@@richf8972 It's not the reason why I listen to it. There's more to it than an altered state of consciousness. PF is more about philosophy than chemically induced happiness.
@@Jduos333 Rogers Waters said that he once took LSD, and after that he he would never do that again. Most people don't take hallucinogenic drugs for any other reason than recreation. 😜
@@Jduos333 The experience isn't worth the price you must pay. There are ways to alter consciousness that do not involve chemicals that damage your health and rob your money. Roger got it right.
@@Jduos333 I question their safety. They may very well be carcinogenic and cause other problems. They also pose a safety hazard to people who are tripping and don't see reality as it is and could harm themselves. They're not for Roger Waters and they're not for me. We don't need drugs to solve our problems. We need a sober and educated mind.
Roger Waters is 76 and sing, how in his youth, a special musican with an incredible feeling for music!!! Nick Mason also 76 and play´s the drum´s how ever. Two giants of modern music history! Ron, thank´s for this upload!
Love that moment of panic between Guy and Nick as Rog walks off-stage at around 9:50 seemingly not aware they’re also playing part 2 of the song, then runs backstage to grab him back 😂. Great performance!

Absolutely love Nick Mason's Saucerful of Secrets band!!!! Best band on tour now hands down!!!!! Hats off to Mr. Mason!!!! Excellent Nick just excellent!!!!👍🐷🥁🇬🇧
The human capacity to make music together is so perfectly captures by this particular song, and seen so clearly in this performance; two old friends coming together and doimg that thing that's louder than words. Amazing
yes, they did. The Night of the prog Festival includes alwaysl the best progressive Musik in the world, and thats ,why the people are coming from all over the world to this festival. I am there since 2010 every year, but not 2020, because of this shit virus
@@Bernhardist Ja Ja Ja Congratulations. I would like to share that I also had the opportunity to cry (ja ja) with Nick in Augusta Raurica, with Roger in Houston and with David in Vienna. They are magical and unforgettable moments for which we are fans of Pink Floyd.
Oh no, .... =))) Roger loses his cello drum ball during the holy acts ... what a moment. This is contemporary history that you will never forget! It was the greatest disaster for all of us when Roger left Pink Floyd in 1985. We can be glad that Roger, David and Nick are still so active today. Heaven protect them. In memories of Syd (2006) and Richard (2008). We miss you ... .
God i wish Roger had been there for the entire concert, when these guys combine its sonic magic & would almost count as a Floyd live album. Especially if Gilmour also did some guest appearance like he did with the Pretty Things S.F. Sorrow live concert The Final Bow. Brilliant idea of Nick's to revisit their psychedelic past, thats where they 1st made their indelible & brilliant mark & when i 1st heard them & became a lifelong fan!
Nick Mason is vastly underrated . The polyrhythms build and build with the scatter of xylophone riding along. What an arrangement!Roger Waters sounds the same as on the album,Ummagumma except with great happiness being onstage with Nick Mason!Saucerful of Secrets
This is honestly my favorite Pink Floyd partial “reunion”. Better than David doing Comfortably Numb with Roger, better than Rick, Nick, and David doing the Syd Barrett tribute, and way better than David and Roger’s charity benefit reunion (I’m not talking about Live 8). This was spontaneous and cool to see. Seeing Roger hit that gong like old times just feels the most like what a Pink Floyd reunion could be. Just the remaining members of Pink Floyd rocking out to the early material and having fun paying tribute to Syd, the man who inspired them to not only be songwriters.
Roger the genius, Roger the destroyer: always Waters over all. During the 6 gold years (73-79) what PF would have been without Waters? Who could have created those 4 gold LP ? (The Dark, Wish you, Animals and The Wall)
It was a four-part chemistry not easily defined. I dislike Roger's solo efforts, but like the rest of the member's; and as with the Beatles, PF was truly a product of all five, then four. This particular song is an all time favorite, and influences me to this day. Before I would go out playing live in the last few years, the two live acts I would listen to for inspiration were Type O Negative and early PF, especially Floyd pre-72.. I found both impressive. To be fair, Roger can be brilliant, wrote my favorite song of all, Set the Controls.. which done live back then was an ultimate classic for me...iconic. But Roger is acerbic and satirical, bitter, wounded, and channels these into his work. All perfectly valid. But for me the music must speak louder than words. Cheers
I was at this show at the Beacon. And holy crap..the show was absolutely phenomenal without Roger being there..go see them if you get a chance!! It was the most amazing most psychedlic show I've ever been to. Being at the one and only show that Roger sat in on made it so extra special though...it was a night I'll never forget. I will definitely be going again if Nick hopefully continues touring with this band...solo wise.. except for the first time I saw Gilmour solo...this was easily my second favorite show out of all the solo shows I've seen between Waters, Gilmour and now Nick Mason. Saucerful of secrets is seriously mind blowing!!
@@Starlight_Silver It was a total surprise. I was originally pissed cause they added the second show a few weeks after the first one sold out and I usually prefer going the second or third night of a run..but luckily in this case we stuck with the first night since it was the only show he came out at.
Gilmour is the fly in the ointment. They would tour again if he weren't such a lazy curmudgeon these days. It is his life, if he feels as though he is done with the Floyd (and he does), then that's that. Nick and Roger, however, are still young at heart and want to enjoy every moment that they still can and be active.
I saw an interview with the band where Nick said this was performed essentially unrehearsed with Roger because Nick rang him up in NYC, Roger agreed to do it but subsequently left his phone in a taxi and they had no other opportunity to arrange a rehearsal until Roger showed up at the theater. Pretty good job winging it.
So very ultra super cool!! I'm not sure if Roger just showed up or what but it's great to see the brotherly love they still have for each other.👍🌈 🔥✨🙏🌛
there is no such thing as bad PF album...... every era has something unique and special...... that’s why Floyd is the greatest achievement in history of modern music
@@marckroll9544 Not a contractual obligation, really. The band members were all in their most experimental phases and decided to record solo works to put together for one album. Back then, it was actually recieved better than it is today, funny enough. It was an extremely innovative record for the time.
@@marckroll9544 the only thing I can live without is "The Grand Vizier's Garden Party", which was basically 9 minutes long drum solo...... quite boring, but Roger's tracks were great and Dave's "The Narrow Way" was also a genius track......
@monokhem what are you talking about...... there are a few "fillers" but tracks like "The Nile Song", "Green Is The Colour", "Cymbaline", "Ibiza Bar", "Cirrus Minor" are awesome...... also keep in mind, that the album was affected by the fact that it was suppose to be a soundtrack album, not a regular one
Around 1971/72, was going to a big school. My GF then, joined the radio team, sent to all the classrooms (through the Intercom system). So I joined too. They gave me the job of DJ. 1st song I inserted in the radio was this one. Funny thing happened: They never asked me to "radio Dj" after this. It was apparently "too much" for the radio students team. Now close to 50+/- years, I'm still listening to it ;-)

@MelissaRinn Same here. Originally I was pissed when they added the second show after the first sold out so quick.. cause I generally prefer catching the second or third show etc in a run of shows at one venue..but this was one time when I was really glad I caught the first night!
