In this video, Nick makes room to fit the Hemi and Tremec TR6060 in his 1989 Chrysler Conquest. Nick also builds custom motor mounts and a transmission crossmember to mount the new power plant in the car.

Part 3 will be rack and pinion swap and custom, equal length, long tube headers. I’m trying to get it done ASAP but these headers are kicking my tail.

Great effort here.....no fancy stuff, or big bucks, just ingenuity! One question. What the heck is a Chrysler Conquest? Never heard of that? Is it a Mitsubishi car line? Good luck!

It’s a Mitsubishi Starion that was rebadged and sold through Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth dealerships in the 80s.

Part 3 is being filmed now. Its going to take some time because the headers are challenging to build.

How much more does this engine weigh over the LS? I have a 87 wide body Starion that I want to drop a Hemi in instead of the LS swap that everyone else is doing

I don’t know the exact numbers, but I’d say the Hemi is slightly heavier than an iron LS. A aluminum LS is 70-80 lbs lighter than the iron blocks.

I think I’m already a member. It’s hard to keep up with all of the Starquest groups; I think there’s more groups for our cars than any other car built.

Probably not the best engine to swap in. A high rev I6 or V6 would of worked. Or a killer 4 banger but dodge don't make one of those anymore..I'd put in a 2.2L turbo

What do you consider high rev? 7000 or maybe 8000?
