Here's my story of owning totally Off Grid Nickel Iron Batteries for 5 years in Hawaii. I have two 100 ah banks of Nickel Iron batteries.
Check out my latest video of my larger 400 ah batteries in March 2024 • Nickel Iron Batteries ...

I own a 48volt set (40) cells 500ah. I love them. They have been running 7 years no problems. Not a lot of videos because big corporations want to sell batteries that need to be replaced every 5 years. Information is power. Thanks for your video

Thanks for sharing the truth! It's all about big money selling batteries that don't last.

I am going "back" to these robust forever batteries that have been sidelined to the modern and extremely dangerous Lithium ion batteries. To see a person like you with all those beautiful NiFe batteries makes me feel proud that we have people still left who know the value of NIFe environmentally friendly batteries. So far, I believe they are the best on the market all factors considered.

I got mine from a us company back in 2011. A bit over 12 years and still running strong. I changed the electrolyte this last year. We run a 24 volt system. Also we only have a few things that use a 110v ac. All our lights and so on and well pump are all 24 volts. (LED lights)

Great information/presentation re Nickel Iron Batteries, dude.! On a completely different subject matter, Charlie, I believe that you are still working out pretty regularly and eating a diet of mainly Fruit + Nuts.? I eat basically just Fruits + Nuts, which makes sense to me because they are the only two foods that I am attracted to eat in their raw, natural + unrefined state, in the form of a mono-meal, but I'm trying to get my head around how to eat them without combining them in the same meal which typically causes me digestive distress. Do you make sure to keep your consumption of Fruits separated from your consumption of nuts, so that you are not combining Carbs + Fats in the same meal.? For example to do you perhaps eat a meal of Fruit in the morning + then a meal of Nuts in the evening.? Cheers, dude.... ✅

Hi, Yes, I eat fruit and one serving of 2 oz nuts daily, but recently had some health issues so I increased my vegetable intake because I learned that's how Dr. Goldner reverses many diseases and my health returned in a few short weeks ( kale and broccoli and also flax and chia seeds in a daily green smoothie). For my nut meal, I just eat kale with it for good food combining, but it took me a few weeks to adjust to the smoothie with kale, banana & flax/chia, but now no problem. I was also low in B12, but not a problem now with supplementation. And yes, I've tried very infrequent exercise and what works best so far is strenuous exercise every 3 days! Sorry for the late reply...

the chinese versions are crap. the reactants dissolve into the electrolyte and they stop working. Even with conservative voltage for charging, they guzzle water.

Then tell me, where can I buy the best made nickel iron batteries? They aren't made in the USA.

@@charlieabel1533 When the chinese cells are compared to the original Edison/Exide cells when cut open, they are not much alike. The chinese cells use what they call VARTA technology, which is the reactants are contained in pouches as a paste. The original Edison cells had the reactants in hard flake form. The hard flakes, as documentation asserts, DO NOT dissolve in the electrolyte. However the paste used in the chinese versions does indeed dissolve into the electrolyte, which then needs frequent replacement in just a few years. The chinese cells were promoted and sold in Australia back in 2018......and now nobody sells them, because they have been a failure. Some people have had ok operation, but when you talk to those people.....they are using them in very light duty, shallow discharge applications. A lot of this is the fault of the people that imported and sold the chinese NiFe batteries.....they promoted them as Edison batteries, rugged, long life, tolerant of overcharge, undercharge etc etc............they absolutely are not rugged. They are over priced and over hyped and thats why they have disappeared.

Use a little Indium Chloride to conserve water. Also, a layer of mineral oil will help to avoid evaporation and carbonate contamination. I am going to get some catalytic caps for my NiFe bank I am busy loading with electrolyte now.

@@coreybrenner catalytic caps? Where are those sold? thanks for the tips )

@@coreybrenner I've heard many people doing this and it sounds great as it will keep the water in, but I theorize that the KOH in the water will saponify the oil. Some people have reported a sludge in the electrolyte after a period of time. I think that's what the sludge is from. I could be (and hope) that I'm wrong
