I think of this song (my favorite by Nickelback, no less) as the unofficial anthem for police officers, firefighters, paramedics, doctors, nurses and Red Cross workers because when disaster strikes our communities; they are there for us. It was also the song I used as a coping method in the aftermath of the two most infamous tornadoes in the United States in this century: Joplin, Missouri on May 22nd, 2011 and Moore, Oklahoma on May 20th, 2013. These tornadoes were both rated as an EF-5 by the National Weather Service; but when the tornadoes had dissipated the aforementioned people began to rescue the trapped, care for the injured and comfort the dying.

This was my cousin and best friends favorite song. As I climbed in my boyfriend's car leaving the church and followed that black hearse carrying her 20 year old body this song came on and I couldn't stop crying. She lost her 2 year battle with Leukemia. She was my oldest daughters godmother. Every time I hear this I think of her. And miss her even more

Hey man, I'm a first timer on your channel, I just wanna say thank you for having such high respect for us first responders, I'm a firefighter and I've seen horrible things, and had to actually bring some horrible news to a close friends wife and kids, it's a horrible feeling but I signed up for this job to serve my community, thank you for having such high respect for us, cause it's not many people who have this kinda feeling for us

They left because the chopper was being overheated and they needed to get more supplies. They had to get the supplies needed for the fallen men. That's why they had to leave for a little while... thats what got me through the depression when I first watched the MV. returned.

When my dad passed away unexpectedly only days after i last saw hime and we had an argument i played this song on repeat craying the whole drive from Virginia to North Carolina. This song still makes me remember my dad he passed away on june 17 2006 (8t was the day before fathers day) so fathers day is really hard as occasionally it falls on the 17th

I think it's just a rumor. I've never met anyone who actually hates them. Some of their songs are very much heavy metal or had rock. Animals comes to mind as well as S.E.X. but there are quite a few more .I love em. They put on a great show

There's a video on youtube now that explains how people began hating Nickelback, and having only watched a few minutes of it, I don't believe there was any real reason for people to hate Nickelback. It certainly wasn't because of any objective opinion of their music. My personal belief regarding the hate is simply because people who chose to hate Nickelback aren't comfortable with who they are on the inside, and don't like the music that calls them to reflect upon themselves - to delve into the deep dark waters instead of enjoying the shallow pleasures of the beachside.

Maybe take off your headphones when you talk? About 40 yrs ago I worked with a lady that's husband was a Forest Ranger in west Tn and about once a yr her husband would have to go out west to fight fires and be gone about a month. She would go from a fun loving crazy lady to a stressed out zombie. Back then there was no cell phones and long distance calls were expensive so they didn't talk everyday. I did my best to distract her when I could but that didn't work very often.

Yeah...it's hard to tell with some songs because the volume is so sporadic on RU-vid. The headphones help me hear the music better and the words. I don't want to take them off. It would mess up the feel of the song. I will turn it up a bit.

My ex wife left me for being a firey, im now a single dad raising 2 kids, working at the local hospital and a volunteer fire fighter but wouldn't trade it for the world. Its dangerous but one hell of an adventure and your family never want to get that captains car pull up out front as it means bad news in Australia.

love the reaction man, I know nickelback gets a lot of hate because the lead singer said that "Nickelback is better than slipknot" and i know that steered a lot of people away from nickelback sadly, but i could personally care less about that. I love slipknot tho but i dont know how you can compare them to nickelback because slipknot is more screamo and hardcore, but at the end of the day thats not going to stop me from listening to nickelback because they do have some great music and not to mention nickelback and slipknot have both helped me through very hard times. Hey, if you haven't reacted to the Nickelback song called What are you waiting for, then definitely do it.
