I remember Nick played this for YEARS!!! Because this one has an episode title, I used to think they were gonna make more. But this was the only one I'd ever see.
I forgot what it was about except for the paper tossing part. But the music that plays when the fish blows bubbles has been playing in my head since I first saw this on regular Nick in 2001. It was moved to Nicktoons channel in 2002.
@@Catdadonamission same with Spider and Fly, and Boy from Woy. I honestly don’t remember if the Nicktoons channel ever played Nicktoons caught on tape. I definitely played the skinny Neutron shorts for sure. Ya know the ones that aired on regular Nick leading up to the movies theatrics release.
It was apparently a pilot for a short series that never took off. It must not have had the same appeal as Inside-Out Boy, the Off-Beats, Safety Queen and Weird Answer Kommand did in the 1990s...
That would mean you saw this first on the Nicktoons channel. It did air on regular Nick in 2001 because that was when I first saw this. I did see this a lot and just like you said I feel the same way about it bringing back fine memories.

That comment is over a year old but I was just emphasizing that if 2003 was the first time he saw it he first saw it on Nicktoons not regular Nickelodeon. This did originate on regular Nickelodeon in the US but it was moved to Nicktoons when the channel launched in 2002. A lot of animated Nick interstitials in the US were moved to Nicktoons when that channel launched in 2002 and it also played stuff from Nick UK like Spider and Fly and Gordon Bleu(the short with the crazy frog chef) and Nick Australia like Boy from Woy.
For some reason, as a kid I felt genuinely sorry for the fish barley being alive. Especially from the music box melody that would play when he was around. That, and I processed the old lady screaming as the fish screaming for help... It’s cool that way when you grow older you can actually take things in correctly now.
I remember seeing this on regular Nick in 2001. I also saw this on the Nicktoons channel between 2002-2005. I know this short aired on regular Nick in the US but I think it was moved to the Nicktoons channel upon its launch. The Nicktoons channel had former Nicktoon interstitials from Nick in the US, UK and Australia.
There are 5 unearthed, this one (Jerk Chicken and Fish Out of Water), The Boy From Woy, Bobby the Lizard Boy, The Little Freaks (Also in Kablam!), and Music Monster. There's also Ernie & Trafalgar (a.k.a. Traffication), it was showed on Nicktoons in 2003-2005, I'm pretty much writing that as "lost", because the videos are pretty much broken now. There's also "The Hackers" and "Star Paws", both of those cartoons I'm afraid, are pretty much lost. Update: Ernie & Trafalgar (The Big Traffiction) has been uploaded by CatscratchFan4004, but there was a high quality copy that was posted in 2012, albeit with different music.
So it's a power tripping cop who is a chicken waltzing around harassing people at a park over trivial things and then cowering away when there's an actual crime happening which also involves a victim who is black. Never realized as a kid how accurate this was for a cartoon short lol
The only unrealistic part is that the chicken wasn’t defended by Fox News personalities nor was he hired by another police department in another state.
Dude! I always remembered these shorts(partially). I was 2 the last time this aired. For a few years, I had some trouble finding it, but when 1 thing lead to another, I found this. Don't ask how I found out
cutemimi25 Wow. I didn't expect you watch Nicktoons TV back around 2002-2003. I didn't watch Nicktoons until 2004, the time before it was called Nicktoons Network.
This was basically an attempt from Nickelodeon to revive producing animated shorts to air inbetween shows like they did in the mid-to-late 90s ("The Off-Beats," "Inside Out Boy," "Safety Queen" and "Weird Answer Kommand," for example), but I don't think it took off really well.
hey I saw that on TV during commericals when I was young :) it's so cool, can any of you guys have a other shorts where there's a chinese girls got scared and chased by a giant vulture, and then chase him back and eat the dead giant vulture? :)
