Your music and your sound was heavily inspired by the music you listened to growing up, which was Amy Winehouse. You have to understand that if you were to win a Grammy, it would mean the very prestigous recording academy recognizes you as having talent. The same people who awarded your idol, Amy Winehouse, awarded you. Imagine how great that would feel. At the end of the day, you're right. The validation and recognition doesn't mean shit. But you have to realize how powerful validation is. Think of social media. You care about the number of likes, followers, and comments. If you don't, then just look at your friends. Surely you know someone who is under that spell of wanting validation. Validation is something so simple, yet so powerful. That's what the Grammy's is. Some people, like Justin Bieber, have vowed to never attend award shows anymore because they're trash networking events rather than events to celebrate music.
