Mariah Carey is not a rapper Mariah Carey was not anywhere near her age and Mariah Carey did not have a spotlight on her in music at that time yes Nikki likes the spotlight but I Find her to be a person who respects talent and is skeptical of other people’s talents, I don’t think Mariah Carey at that time was a person that Nicki Minaj I thought was unworthy of her success.
I know Mariah is the definition of a diva and she deserves it with her talent and her mark in the industry but I believe Nicki M when she says she doesn't really wanna have any beef with her childhood idol but at the same time she doesn't wanna be disrespected. I like Mariah and her voice is legendary but I think I like Nicki’s personality better. She's sweet but at the same time keeps it real.

She is now constantly on defense, ready to protect herself, which comes off as arrogant and aggressive, so it provokes the bad vibes from the others. I wish she could just take time to heal and be her true self - the free spirited, happy, creative and loving woman we know she still is deep down inside.

I don't think it's even what Ellen said. I think she missed out a key point when describing Nicki's personality, just going my the emotion displayed by Nicki, the body language and the whole vibe around what she said and how she said it. the missing word here is 'sensitivity'. She is a sensitive person. I so relate to this maybe because I am like that. If I know someone does not like and I'm in the same room with them. I tend to sometimes over compensate and it can easily get over emotional and go over board with the comments saying things one doesn't even really mean.
You might have a point actually! Especially with certain matters you'll see Nicki's very passionate about and won't let anyone mess with her on. When it comes to her abilities , legacy etc.. She just doesn't take crap from people when down to those topics.
She's so beautiful and really connected to her feminine side. I'm a fan of both and i know very well it all happened because of the way white entertainment is wired. You have two powerful women and you want more emotion than what the fact of having them sitting peacefully on the same table already causes. They just couldn't resist that, specially if one of them is black.
