Great review of those water-proof/highly water-resistant pair of Nick's mate. I'm staying tuned for more of the Nick's boots reviews.

Thanks so much for this video! This was very informative as I have some Nicks Tacticals since December and they are my first quality boot. Also it's so cool you're in the north of the czech republic! That's the first country I went abroad to back when I was in university , so as you can imagine it holds a very special place in my heart. How did you come to move all the way out there if you don't mind me asking?

Nice! How do you like the Tacticals so far? That's cool you've spent time in CZ. Where all did you go? I'm actually half Czech (mom's side) and was born here and then moved to San Diego when I was 2-3. Long story short, I had some life/family changes come up last year and got the opportunity to come back and live here after 25 years. Figured I'm in the best years of my life to shake things up a little, and I've learned it's the things you *don't* do that you regret the most.

I think those are used and abused over there brother. Checking what you will add to help the leather be water resistant

Wow I wonder how rainy it must've been for these to soak through? I feel it would take a LOT of rain and maybe standing in some legit puddles

I think it was mostly wet snow that did them in. Got stuck on the boots while I was working, and gradually melted through from my body heat.

How did you get the waterworks so soon after they announced them? The lead time is 6 months. Did they give you a prototype for testing? I ordered mine in June and I just got them a few weeks ago. Loving them so far. I got composite toe and where they bend right behind the safety toe is the hardest part to break in. It was super uncomfortable on top of my foot when I would bend my foot and it pinched right behind the toes. Did that happen with you. If so how long did it take to stop hurting?
@CyclingSasquatch
@CyclingSasquatch Год назад
Yeah, I got a prototype for testing the 55 last model. Definitely experienced the same thing with the flex point behind the safety toe... it got better after a couple months, but I don't expect it to ever be as quite as comfy as a soft toe boot. You could try taking out the leather insole and replacing it with something thinner and/or softer like the green Spencos that Nicks sells, just to have a little more give if it doesn't ease up.

Those boots are stunning! What size? true to size?
@CyclingSasquatch
@CyclingSasquatch Год назад
Thanks!! 11.5EE left, 11EE right - that's my dialed-in Nicks size now after 9 pairs. I will say the steel toes seemed to make the fit a little roomier lengthwise, like there's a bit more space between my longest toe and the welt.
@michaelduffy6568
@michaelduffy6568 Год назад
@@CyclingSasquatch oh wild...so two different sizes is that normal? or because hand made?
@CyclingSasquatch
@CyclingSasquatch Год назад
It's not entirely uncommon for one foot to be a little bigger than the other. With store-bought shoes I just got used to my left toes either being cramped, or my right foot sliding around more, but the custom build process allows for each boot to be made to the perfect size for that foot.

How do these fit vs other boots you've worn? I'm considering getting a pair, I think another guy who has these mentioned they fit a little wider vs his other Nick's boots
@CyclingSasquatch
@CyclingSasquatch Год назад
Without the leather insole, they feel a good half size longer and one width wider than my other Nicks, all the same size.

4 or 5 hours? Can't even do a full work shift? Nicks really needs to step up their waterproof game.

HNW not 55

Nope, 55. It's one of the MTO options.

@@CyclingSasquatch heel would be several layers taller in the 55. That is HNW for sure.
@CyclingSasquatch

@@russellprice8082 Not HNW. These are literally a prototype Nicks sent me to test out the 55 last on the unit lug sole.
