Leather laces aren't brittle at all if you fully saturate them with oil. I soak my laces in oil to the point they're dripping, then I hang them for hours, next I cake them with a homemade beeswax and castor oil mixture. They end being a little sticky, but they're super durable.
Nicely done and explained, Killian. I put my boots and the LP in the sun for a little warming before applying it. No extra work and lets the paste soak right in. I'm betting you do the same on occasion.
Thanks! I was actually thinking of going the kevlar route on the laces. I really dig the traditional vibe of the leather, but caring for and replacing 7+ pairs of boots worth of laces does get old.
@@sergior.carreno5568 Maybe after a very long time but I personally didn't see anything like that. I sold both my boots a while back and neither had any premature wear.
