In case you didn't catch it. When Tom is talking about the ships, he's not just talking about the ships. "They're no longer my ships" "I don't care what kind of ship you made... it's neither good nor bad. You can make any ship you want! But... even if the ship kills someone or destroys the world... A creator must never disown a ship he designed! He must always love he! The ship is not to blame! When a man builds a ship... he takes pride in what he built with a don!" Franky was an orphan that Tom took in. Franky IS a ship that it's creators abandoned.
Tom repeatedly tells Franky that as his father, he loves him, takes responsibility for him, and will not abandon him, no matter what Franky does. When Franky did the same thing as the parents who abandoned him (when he abdicated responsibility for ships he built), Tom was furious.
The big thing about Sanji’s controversial line of “When a woman lies, a real man forgives her” is that he does not mean any woman should be forgiven for lying no matter what. It’s that a real man forgives the lies a woman tells herself. Keep in mind, Robin hasn’t necessarily lied to them yet. If this was placed anywhere else in the story, it would not make sense. But Sanji has always been the perceptive type and knows that the only lies she has been telling are the ones to herself. Bingo.
And when you pair that with the similarities in Sanji's backstory to Robin and that same feeling of not being worthy enough to live, it makes hit that much harder for me
4:01 Tom building the previous Pirate Kings ship is still to this day one of the coolest details Water Seven gave away in this arc...!!! 5:55 Great catch, that is indeed Paulie...!!! :D Love how everything in this series is connected in some kind of way ❤✨
@@Thatissojordy777 I am up to date with the manga, but this is not the place to talk about that ;D We don't wanna spoil anything for other early One Piece watchers after all right?
The reason that Tom didn't burn the blueprints was in case the world government got their hands on the ship itself, he or the person he entrusted the blueprints to would be able to build a copy of the ship to counter it... or several copies. An "It doesn't matter if the other guy's got a big stick if yours is bigger" kind of deal.
The Queen returns and discovers what's up... Franky's Backstory and Robin's reasons. If the Strawhat pirates are a family, Robin is cited as the den mother of the group. When I started reading One Piece 19 years ago, this was the chapter that was current where the sea train left Water 7 with Robin. I didn't know any of these characters except for Luffy, Zoro and Nami at the time.
The English VA for Spandam also did JOKER in the LEGO Batman games (2 and Beyond Gotham) I was like, wait! I know I have heard that voice before....is that...?
Also, something I didn't realize till watching this reaction video rn, 4:03 when Tom is being taken away in cuffs, you can see a Suns Pirates type of tattoo peeking out from his arm. Oda really is such a goat with foreshadowing!!
Don't feel bad about being wrong about Nico Robin. Oda loves putting fans through roller coaster of emotions regarding characters; all I can say is there is almost always an explanation/resolution later on. It just might take a long, long time. There are questions fans today are still waiting for answers on. One Piece is a heck of a marathon, but definitely worth it.
It's not even just she did it to protect them. We know already she has had a bounty on her head and hunted since she was 8. She has had no qualms about throwing away various groups she's joined in order to get away alive. But she can't do it this time. She found a place to belong and people who accepted her, and she couldn't sacrifice it like she always did before. The tragedy of Nico Robin is palpable, and we are only at the top of the iceberg.
I wish we could get more videos each week but I know how it be, you still are one of the top reactors I enjoy watching. Even if you don't have the power of an Afro.
Spandam lowkey one of the best villains in one piece, and probably the most painfully realistic. We may never met someone like Croc or Enel on our life, but we sure met a couple of Spandams And Robin is best girl, but it was difficult to trust her until ep 251 It's never explained but there is a reason this Aqua Laguna is hitting harder, I'll put a spoiler warning because there is the chance that they will say it once and I just forgot: SPOILER . . . . . . . The Ice road Aokiji made just melted so it's the Aqua Laguna plus a piece of the artic melting at once hahaha
15:40 Technically, Smoker is a Marine. While they work under world government and are part of their system just like Cipher Pol, they aren't exactly the same entities. Doesn't make them good of course. At the very least, they are a different breed of gov. dog than the ones Franky's insulting
Queen: Why don't they burn the blueprints? There's a good reason for that, Queen. Iceburg explained a few episodes ago. The shipwrights who owned the blueprints knew there would be chaos if the original Pluton were revived and if any unsavory characters had it in their possession. The Blueprints are a backup so that in case that day comes, someone could build a second Pluton to fight against the original.
I should also note there are only two ways to bring Pluton back. The first is to have the blueprints, the other is to have someone who knows how to decipher the Poneglyphs and can lead you to where the original is. And the ONLY person who can do the second thing is...*drumroll* the Devil Child, Nico Robin.
Now when you look back at it Robin in her mind was right about her dream that couldn't be achieved with them around. Cause she's targetted by the world government they can't leave the Island safely with her.
The Marines even tho finally killed Roger were still mad that they lost face in the world's eyes they try to execute anyone involved with Gold Roger right down to the guy who made his ship. So no one can help repeat Roger's legacy or prove the Marines dropped the ball when it came to handling him . As Tom said there is no blueprint for a pirate ship. A ship is a ship its not the shipwright's fault if the product is used for other means after it is sold. Because by that logic every store owner that sold a piece of fruit or meat to Roger should be held accountable too
Tom really didn't deserve to be handed the Death sentence by association. At best, he should've paid a fine to the Marines/WG. At worst, maybe serve a few years in prison. How was he supposed to know that Roger would become the biggest pain in their ass at the time?
I completely forgot the Gorosei themselves gave Spandam the mission of finding the blueprints, that is by far the biggest plothole in the story lol. 15:45 Smokey is a marine, not WG tho.
Seeing as Spandam's father Spandine was head of the CP9 for years (directly responsible for the Ohara Incident too), it's no wonder Spandam found out about Pluton at some point. Seeking a promotion, he likely thought that acquiring the blueprints would earn him that easily. The Gorosei getting involved isn't that far-fetched since the very existence of the ancient weapons is not common knowledge. Also, yes, Smoker is indeed a Marine, and like all Marines he too works for the World Government.
@@evelynarhondi6375 I meant that the Gorisei themselves were apparently dumb enough to not measure up this dude in half a second after seeing him and realizing he was a goofy bitch. The 5 elder leaders of the entire Word Government saw this chode of a dude in front of them and gave him one of the most important missions they could give an operative, that's just ridiculous lol. That's like Nami giving Luffy the mission of keeping the fridge safe, at that point when Luffy obviously eats the whole thing it's really Nami's fault so it would make no sense for her to do that, she's not that dumb. The Gorisei should've looked at this dude and went: "Yeah no lol" in a second.

20:43 Sanji is a doormat for women to wipe their feet on and I strongly disagree with his statement about how a real man forgives a woman who lies. There is an adage about how a house built without a foundation is not really a house at all. The same could be said about a relationship that is not built on trust. This is because the lying partner is deceiving the other into living a fiction. Each partner has a different purpose for interacting with the other. Now, you could always forgive someone for lying accidentally, such as when the full facts of a situation are not known or are withheld by some third party. But in the case of intentional lying, like concealing one's STD status in order to have sexual intercourse, the notion that the liar should be forgiven strikes me as self-destruction.
What the hell is going on today!, ooo boy the revelations! Now stuff is *still* getting worse but at least we know why. Robin is trying to protect the crew and CP9 has returned for the blueprints from Franky and Iceburg's past. Now her, Franky and Usopp have been taken. Just gotta see what's going to happen, thanks for the video!
Sanji's line "When a woman lies real man forgives them." Is Biblical accurate. There's no such thing as a certain extent. Lies aren't eternal, plus if a man really wants to get hurt by the same woman, forgive them then just be wise the next time.
See. Robin was w us all along ☺️ Sometimes we gotta be patient w One Piece. In OP we can see a character and not learn their name for 5 years! 😂 Or see something foreshadowed from 72 arcs ago. It's tough but also rewarding being a One Piece fan
What the He** is going on today. Don't feel bad about not thinking of the reason Robin left the crew was due to saving them. They tried to mislead you with starting with Usopp leaving with his very selfish and harsh way so you are thinking Robin would be similar.
Bhahaha love the reaction!! I remember when you were still debating on if you were going to watch one piece. I knew as soon as you started you were not going to stop. 😂 welcome to the club 😂🎉🎉
