El tango tiene origen entre Uruguay y Argentina con fusiones de otras danzas europeas traidas por inmigrantes a nuestros puertos. Hacia 1880 el tango empieza a tomar la forma que hoy mas o menos conocemos a pesar de su evolucion. Pero siempre fue el tango una danza de emparejar hombres y mujeres exclusivamente. El porq de eso es la propia naturaleza de la danza y porq el Tango estaba prohibido por ley por insistador, desfachatado, casi pornografico si se permite el termino. Era una danza entre muros, escondida, de burdeles y putas, asociado al juego, la bebida. Ciertamente muchos hombres practicaban entre ellos en la previa de entrar a un burdel, haciendo tiempo, con fines de mejorar movimientos. Las prostitutas hacian lo mismo dentro de los kilombos y practicaban entre ellas. El intercambio de roles era y es una experiencia imprescindible para cualquier bailarín que tenga intenciones de mejorar, entre otras cosas, porque permite comprender mejor la marca y los movimientos del partennaire. Pero la finalidad era bailar con una minuza y de ahi a la catrera. (aclaro que el lenguaje usado es solamente a modo ilustrativo ya que hablo de tiempos pasados. No tengo absolutamente nada q me oponga a q parejas de un mismo sexo bailen entres si, sea por fines didacticos como mencione o bien porq quieran seducirse dos tipos o dos minas. Por mi sigue siendo tango y la finalidad es acercarse al otro a traves de movimientos sensuales). Espero ser de aporte para ti

@@Fedeniux Muy cierto lo que decís. Pero no comparto tomar algo tan elegante y clásico como el tango y llevarlo a un nivel tan poco adecuado con dos... Digamos, si se puede "Hombres". Cambalache, otro de los grandes tangos clásicos deja todo bien definido. Ya ni un simple carnaval se puede apreciar. No hay mas Reina del Carnaval, ahora es la "Figura del Carnaval" y todo por capricho de personas desubicadas que en vez de formar su propia cultura buscan atacar lo classico. Antes no me molestaban pero hoy en día con lo que vienen haciendo a la fuerza ya no los banco. Posiblemente estas personas estaban convencidos de lo que el tango era entre hombres y por eso asi surje el video. Mas adecuado seria el tango entre un hombre y una prostituta ya que de ahi surje el baile.

Steven Wright It's also quite historically accurate. Originally tango wasn't a seductive dance between a man and a woman (or later, between people of whichever gender) but rather a men-only dance. It was more about power and respect, in a time of deep sexism. Women weren't allowed to be expressive like this back then, only men could, and this wasn't considered in any way a feminine thing. Tango is a really interesting genre and one of the few parts of argentine culture that makes me proud of it.

why not you try uploading a decent interpretation of this piece instead? and its a freaking tango ... not some bach or mozart sonata so the sexy vibrato is legit

iwanplaepale fu Thanks for the response, Now as much as I'd love to upload a rendition of Gardel's beloved tango, the sad truth is my musicianship is not as good as hers. Simply put, she can play violin better than me. That doesn't credit her adaptation though. Now I do have a bit of confusion, you talk about "sexy vibrato" but it really does feel out of place. It sounds like she's trying to make a neo-tango oriello style (the original was more along the lines of salon tango) but then the video shows people dancing an impossible time feel as ritardandos are picked up with robotic alacrity by the actors, something that no ordinary person could do. Vibrato has been used since the times of Bach and Mozart (more so Mozart) and in greater quantity but I don't know what makes a vibrato sexy. It must have something to do with the tits of the person playing it. To summarise, her style is impossible, impractical and a strange mix of tango styles and violin performance techniques that shouldn't be used together. Although like I said in the first comment, it ultimately comes down to what goes in our ears. I've told you the reasons why what came into my ears sounded like crap but if her vibrato is worthy of sex in your ears than I have my work preparing an argument cut out for me.

But 'Scent of the Woman' was the original movie where this song was used. The tango scene b/w Al Pacino and Gabrielle Anwar was classic. Even though the movie is now almost three decades old, I remember it like it was screened yesterday.
