Straight avoided the question.... she's not to be trusted

Straight did NOT avoid the question. It is a very personal topic, and as you can see, she is quite emotional about this because of her miscarriages. Don't be so paranoid. I love the policy they have to help women carry to term. It is the Democrats and Republicans you can't trust. They use this issue every single election. And never, ever have solutions. This campaign does. As someone who chose adoption, I have been waiting many years for a policy like this! No one ever listens. About time someone did.

Abortion will never be completely banned. You might as well not vote. Conservative politicians have been using this for votes for decades now. I'm tired of people, especially men speaking about this. I am as pro life as you can get. If you care, please go volunteer at adoption agencies and teen pregnancy homes. Maybe even Angie's house. If you know Angela Stanton King, you will know part of why Kennedy campaign came up with such a great policy for women to carry to term and not choose abortion.

DNA is present at conception. All basic physical characteristics, basic personality traits, hereditary health problems are already present. Pregnancy involves 2 live human being. Two beating hearts. Two unique DNA. Can have two different, and even incompatible, blood types for mother and child. Child has equal right to life. A baby's first and most important stage of development begins inside the safety of a woman's womb. If that mother chooses drugs or alcohol during pregnancy, she can harm the child's most critical stage of development which can cause mental or physical disability for life. A child's body begins development inside mother's womb but doesn't finish development until age 21. We shouldn't discriminate against a child's life based on development stage. By 12 weeks all adult organs present.

I've listened to every one of his interviews. He believes the government shouldn't tell anyone what to do medically, but thinks abortion is wrong. He thinks when babies can be born without complications, they should not be terminated. But they can have problems even at full term, and not survive. That mother should not be forced to give birth. However, some women have abortions just because they want one, without medical reasons. He thought that never happened, but his campaign told him he was wrong, and he changed his position. The fact that I have to explain this is bad and means they have not been clear. They really need to fix that.

Before birth control pill women were having 4 to 9 children. A number died and had a lot of consequences after having so many children. Then the birth control pill came out for only married women. They finally had choice to prevent pregnancies. Later was the morning after pill. Then technology was able to show very early in the pregnancy if there was something wrong with the fetus, which was never available before. Abortions in the first trimester are medical procedures and can be done in a doctor's office. After that time limit it becomes a surgery. Any surgery does have risks. Check out where we stand globally as one of the most liberal countries in the world now for abortions. Other countries will also give a woman a coffin box so she can bury the fetus if she loses a baby. One of my friends had premature baby at 5 months. She was a nurse, and requested the box to take home to bury her baby girl and have a small funeral for her.. I've also heard so many stories of what happens to the embryos fetuses of the aborted babies.I believe any woman has the right to have an abortion the first 16 weeks. These proposed abortion laws with yes or no should give choices as I stated above with timelines. I think most of the country believe this too. Also no one's ever asking the question on what happens to the fetus the embryos and the babies after aborted. . Give voters the choice of 1st trimester, 2nd trimester and last trimester. Just my thoughts.

Just sharing my experience, since I see that you had shared something opposite of an unwanted child. Just shows how different all women are, and all of their experiences. Just stop. They aren't 'protecting it'. People need to learn policies. Everyone is allowed to have opinions. The woman just shared her tragedies and people just can't wait to harp on her. So sad. They haven't even been elected yet. Their policy is to help women not choose abortion and uplifts adoption as well. I have been waiting so many years for something like this. Never do conservatives every support carrying to term. They use abortion for votes and bash women who use welfare, and then they support corporations over small businesses and more freedom. Lose lose every time. Women unfortunately choose abortion, mainly because of affordability and I am tired of men trying to solve this for all women, when they ultimately aren't forced to be responsible for their own kids. They have a choice, and women and children end up suffering.

I am 💯 pro life. Just wondering though, if a woman decides to have an unplanned baby the man is,by law, financially responsible for that child without choice. But he has no say if he wants to save the baby’s life and be a responsible father if the woman chooses to selfishly murder his child. How do these people justify this? The “it’s her body” argument doesn’t work, that baby is a part of him too.

I agree in theory. But this is a right-wing argument similar to the left’s “what about rape” argument. It is a minority situation. Against the left’s argument, majority of abortions are not for dire situations, they are for emotionally and financially dire situations. So the “r***” argument is mud. Against the right “dad has right to decide”, majority of situations, biological males who impregnate want to end that pregnancy. So THAT is THE problem. We live in a world where men are not men. They are humans who happen to have testacles. So the trans issue is absolutely related to this. To be a man is to WANT children, to want to protect them, to want to protect the mother and create a healthy environment. Until the majority of men WANT children, the argument of “father has a right to decide” is mud in the water.

You are looking at this all wrong. This is all a want to control people morally, and you can't force that. You really think you are going to force women to not commit an act that can result in pregnancy? Or force them to give birth if they do? Maybe this sounds bold to you, by using the term 'bodily autonomy', but it doesn't make sense in terms of our government. I chose adoption with my first love because that was my choice, and I could never abort. I would never want anyone telling me that needed to be my decision though. That was personal. Kennedy's policy is great. It has nothing to do with abortion legislation proposal. It is to support women in feeling they have a viable choice, which is not abortion. And also advocating for adoption. Thank goodness! I have been talking about this for years now. It will redirect funds. No new cost.

Her personal concept of life seems to be more quantified which is the wrong answer because it's does fall into the whole Liberal concept of "40 weeks is insane, 23 weeks that's a shame but there may have been issues, 8 weeks oh well".

My stance on abortion is the same as my stance on gun control. If guns are taken away from law abiding citizens, then criminal enterprise would inevitably take over. If abortion is banned, criminal enterprise would inevitably take over. Actions have intended and unintended consequences. A lot of people think that banning abortion is the end all be all. The people who are advocating for abortion bans are deluding themselves to thinking that they can save every life, when in reality, they can only accomplish being blissfully unaware. It will just happen away from public scrutiny, which will give the illusion that they defeated abortion.

No candidate ever has an answer to this topic that the Majority of people can get behind, simply because everyone has their own very strong feelings about this. RFKs stance seems the the least divisive. He's stanchly against the government dictating what people do with their bodies. And, he prefers if babies can be brought fully to term. Should I disregard your entire opinion because the ‘fact’ of your existence. Or are you a person with feelings and intelligence, who I should respect and gain understanding from??? I do believe you have gotten to the heart of the issue in two ways: 1) Abortion is an existential issue. Pearl Jam said it best. I’m still alive. Do I deserve to be? And if so, who answers? This is THE question. Weeks/terms/womens rights/ family issues -- those are all skirting around the issue. The issue is our right to exist as a human. Both mother and child. 2) the government cannot stay out of it. Government is extension of family. If we are groups of individuals that do not procreate, we do not need society. The issue is and always is: Are children protected? Or more broadly, are the vulnerable protected? And you are right, the inconsistency of protecting a 12 week old fetus, bit then not supporting that same child in the foster care SYSTEM. Total disconnect. So you are spot-on, but then to naively think we can live in some sort of utopia is not understanding laws and humanity. So my response is, as far as your hope for positive support of children and families, that is not governmental solutions. The foster care system is a government solution. Its bad. But for the negative, prosecuting bad people and law-breakers, that is the function of government: to govern. So limit governmental control, but support non-governmental help and solutions.
@fastenit27
@fastenit27 Месяц назад
@@IsaacDDuke When you ask the question about disregarding my opinion because I exist, would you elaborate on that to make sure I understand? 1.) When you say abortion is existential and elaborate asking "Do I deserve to be...if so who answers?" Please define your meaning of "Deserve" in this context. When I comment, I would like to have a clear understanding of what you've meant. 2.) You mention "Government can not stay out of it." My response: Government, in this country, as I understand, was designed to be by and for the people. If the people choose to have it involved or not, it is the people's decision. So I see this statement as an opinion, but not necessarily a truth. Foster care is part of a government system, tax dollars pay for it. I would say the intention/purpose of governmental foster care is to offer protection to an orphaned child. I think we are in agreement on this. When you mention "to naively think we can live in some sort of utopia" I'm a bit confused. Are you saying this in general, or did I say something that indicated I am advocating "Utopia." Utopia could be a great guiding principal. It may never be reached, but maybe a directional guide for action. My basic position is this: An unwanted child (for numerous reasons) is most likely going to have more difficult life challenges than a wanted child (psychological, emotional, economically, etc.) -all else being equal. If government laws restrict safe abortions (through professional medical services), the woman will either try "back alley" solutions, which threaten her life/health and that of the fetus, or bring forth a baby she does not want in her life (for numerous reasons), which can bring about disastrous results for her, the baby and society. From what I've read, my mother's experience was not all that unique, when abortion was illegal. If a woman is entitled to and receives a legal abortion, her physical health is significantly less likely to be compromised, as well as any complications that could arise, i.e., the compromised health of baby from a failed abortion attempt, as I've previously described.. She could give the baby up for adoption, putting the child in the hands of the government. This would include foster care (with it's advantages/disadvantages) or direct adoption. The effectiveness of our foster care system runs the gamut. First of all, there are a shortage of families willing to accept children. When the pool of foster family candidates is too small for the need, you can predict fewer qualified foster care candidates will be available. Right now abortion is legal, and we already have this problem, it will only increase exponentially if abortion becomes illegal. Also, the field of child and family services historically is a low paid field, which highlights additional system challenges. I could write a lengthy PhD dissertation on the subject, with footnoted references, but this is not the venue... My first hand experience and education about adoption and foster care system leads me to conclude that, as a last resort, safe legal abortions are healthier for the mother and society, and decrease the chance of bringing unwanted children/people into the world.. The research indicates that adopted children (who become adults) are significantly more likely to have mental health problems, have unwanted pregnancies themselves, have drug dependency problems and commit suicide than the non adopted population. Our support systems are underfunded and understaffed and are often less than adequate. Now and historically, our citizen taxpayers have not supported more tax dollars going into the child support system - even in MA, a liberal state with high taxes! Making abortions legal and safe is a more humane, and ethical way of addressing the problem. Women should not get pregnant (must use necessary protection means), unless they choose and should not be denied abortion services, if pregnancy mistakenly occurs. Having unwanted children brought into the world, creates/necessitates all sorts of major societal difficulties we the people are unwilling to address - even the most religious among us.
