And the frustrating thing is that because of our electoral system there is this feeling of helplessness as voters. Unless we live in a batttleground state, there really is very little we can do about it one way or the other. Our votes are just symbolic. We will vote but we will vote then sit back and hope that Wisconsin and Michigan and Pennsylvania will do the right thing. We've got some serious deep issues here.

Of course not. The Court reserves the right to decide who can (GOPsters) and who cannot (Dems). And they have no problem with overturn their own precedents, if they deem it necessary even if they do not always write it right into their decisions (like in Bush vs. Gore: This is only for this case and may not be used as a precedent on other occasions*). *btw that did not stop at least one SCOTUS member from trying to use it again in another case or at least considering to use it in a future case with the same purpose of favoring a GOPster over a Dem. Could have been the late Scalia but I am not 100% sure that is was him.

I’m an Australian…but it appears to me (am I wrong?) that the NEW SCOTUS RULING contradicts and upends the plain text of the constitution….so isn’t it incumbent on the president and other sane lawmakers to “uphold” the constitution (as per their oath of office) by doing something urgent to overturn this ruling immediately….not waiting till re-elected?
