Glad to hear! It's tough because bidding is totally dependent on what other players do. If you make a habit of looking at the other players' boards after a few games you can get a better sense of what they need and what they'll bid higher on. But this only works if they know what they are doing :)

I've played a few games of it! Not quite good enough yet to make a guide, but I'll share what I think so far. Trying to stack one landscape type like the Fields or Meadows feels very weak. There's too many benefits for diversifying. You get 10 bonus points for having all 6 different types and more points when you take Villages. Mountains and Rivers seem to be the most contested. Using Rider (9) to secure them before they are in the current round seems like a good play. In a lot of rounds initiative won't matter because all the landscapes are similar or the same. These are the best times to use your higher numbers (use 10 early, use 11 and 12 later). Save your 1 & 2 for later rounds when you actually need to get a landscape. Using them early is a waste.

I think the +3 card you see in Age 1 is pretty bad. It’s usually better to get dwarves early to recruit heroes faster and help with majorities (distinctions). The +5 I don’t mind so much

I try to, yes. Maybe you can make an exception in the very last round. The thing is upgrading coins guarantees you points. If you choose not to upgrade then you need to get adequate compensation back. If you choose to bid a 7 instead of your 0 and everyone else bids higher anyway then you've lost points. Or if this bid allows you to get a blue 10 instead of a blue 8 then you've still probably lost points overall.

I guess it would depend on what other dwarves are in the tavern. Over an Orange 0 or Red 3 probably yes. The +3 has some tactical uses but I do try to avoid it most of the time.

@@juliusc042 I would try to avoid it still. I think it's more important to get an early Hero than the 25 coin. You should be able to get the 25 coin in the same amount of turns without the +3.
