for those having trouble dodging cauterize, someone in one of my runs noticed that he only dives from N/E on 1st dive and S/W on the 2nd. It made it way easier to look out for and gave a lot of people time to dodge the aoes + dives
How I feel about all the new primals...I mean I almost cleared sophia got to 10%.. but that last 10% is tricky lol I've only cleared bismarck and ravana.. But both of them are easy compared to the other 4.
Since watching this I managed to clear Ravana EX, which isn't nearly as hard, but it gives me hope that some day I can clear, perhaps even master the other EX trials too.
SheepyTina umm I think... if you did rav ex, it feels way better if work way up. Bis rav thor, etc. Also party communication is still important, I almost did thordan learning to bird farm in 1 day. I'm super picky, if party won't talk, sometimes I leave. Only I still get confused to what phases can skip if burn down. In worst case follow party or 1 other person unless you are assigned where to stand and all should be ok. In my case I had to lern to do 3 counts cuz I got over paranoid and almost moved to early. Not to sell self short but if I can do it, any1 can

Andrew Joy this thing isn't firefighter or alone in the darkness. Not even close. Those fights were absolutely back breaking, and in the case of no light 25, impossible at T8. If I were to categorize it, I'd call it........ FL Shannox 25H. That's about the skill level needed. The traps, proper switches and DPS Concentrations, etc. to put this fit up there with 4H40, Cthun, or zero light 25 isn't doing those fights justice. Then again, it's just my opinion.
Lmao comparing Shannox HC to Nidhogg EX... you are crazy and a fanboi my man. Shannox HC is so fucking easy his HC mode was easier than normal if you were a decent raider at that time. Nidhogg ex is around the same difficulty level as Majordomo HC, Blackhorn HC, etc, sure, not endgame boss, but the ones that are the hardest of an instance are a match to nidhogg, not early fodder that are loot pinatas.
Akh Morn doesn't act as a soft enrage since at the end of the second loop of sable prices Nidhogg will enrage with a Deafening bellow, so that part is wrong.
so many mechanics and bullshit you must remember or wipe... doing all that will getting AOEed by a boss that can one shot you with randoms that get very impatient and leave after a couple tries.

If Nidhogg hits 80% during hot stuff mechanics, it's possible to skip the second set after the first. (i.e. if he uses hot wings first and hits 80% during he cast, it will go to add phase without casting hot tail next) Also it's easier to bring both adds together while facing the magic add away from the group, including the other tank (mostly in case if physical add gives tank disease and they may not pull magic add in time and other tank has no hallowed/holmgang/living dead ready for any reason). Also fireball is magic so the tank who tanked magic add isn't too far away.
One thing I forgot to mention. There is still a hard enrage in Nidhogg Extreme. It's a 10 second Deafening Bellow. It's most after the final phase rotation repeats 2-3 times.
Also, collapsing in the middle makes it harder to dodge the second cauterize if the player moves to the cauterized area, since they would have to turn around for them, and they may not avoid cauterize in time, even with sprint. What my group does is that we stay where we currently are until nidhogg casts cauterize 2 then go to the next safe zone.
You must've got a different mic somewhere between this and castrum which was the last video I watched. Your voice is much louder and even more confident.
I'm really having trouble with the orb positionals, it feels like after we drop the pools of hysteria I either get instakilled or I can't tell which area is the safe one. Is there any like "tips and tricks for idiots" you can offer or is it just to keep running it?
Noticed that you said "If the tank gets tethered blue." the MT will ALWAYS get tethered blue and will ALWAYS need to swap after tethers go out initially and get switched later.
So now you can do this fight unsynced, and I'm wondering: Does the extra defence everybody has on their gear now make it more difficult to kill Nidhogg's Claw? People tethered to it must take a lot of damage after all and for example the body armour of people at iLv310 have double the defence and magic defence that people at iLv260 that would be likely to do this fight the last patch before Stormblood do.
I've tried to watch this a couple of times now and most of the time I can get past everything, except until the Sable Price phase. For some reason I just can't get the positioning down and always die...
MTQ I have a question :o. for my raid we have 2 paladin, 2 ninja , summoner, bard, scholar, and a astrologian (me!!!). Do you think since we have the same classes in the raid we will probably not finish the dps check or does that mean the healers have to dps to help pass through that phase.
how come their camera seems to pull back further than what's possible in my game? You can see all of nidhogg in this video you cannot do that in my game. Im on PC 1080P monitor/settings. I cannot pull the camera that far back.

What's sad is that this fight isn't even that difficult. The only things that make it difficult are how hard the abilities hit, the finicky hitboxes in the first phase (seriously, even if you're just a small hair too close to another person with a mark or a cauterize, you're pretty much guaranteed to die), and the Fang and Claw phase. Even then, the Fang and Claw phase isn't too difficult if you have tanks that are good at swapping quickly. The only reason my group struggled so much on this fight is because of how hard the abilities hit :/
I get instagibbed on my Pally when trying to tank the Falak. Not sure exactly how you're surviving. Not doing anything different than what is being shown in the vid.
I watched the video to learn the fight and craft me a nice rapier, ok it's not that hard, then after near 2 hour queue my dream shatters when I watch all party member run like heedless chickens in the mechanics.
Actually if people paid attention to the wording used to refer to Nidhogg leading up to this fight and using Odin as an example the Nidhogg of this fight very well could be. Odin himself is a primal that does not fit the typical primal profile as in: he doesn't need crystals or worship to manifest. They refer to Nidhogg as a shade, which implicates that he isn't the real one whom had actually perished in the Aery. Nidhogg only survived for so long prior to the Aery was because of his brood brother's lent strength and it has been mentioned before had he not been helped he would have died to his fatal wounds.
+Rosalie Hill still not a primal, he doesnt feed on aether, he's a dragon born from Midgarsormr. He has similarities to primals, but isn't one. Odin is also not a primal, Zantetsuken is.
The original Nidhogg was a dragon born of Midgarsormr. This Nidhogg is simply a shade of him, given form by his unrelenting hatred and rancor. This particular Nidhogg? Might as well be a Primal, for all we know of him.
Matheus Teixeira His rage, his entire aetherial being dispersed into the air. He's as good as dead nowadays, as his eyes are effectively worthless. The only thing the eyes have now are Lahabrea's essence, which is what the Warriors of Darkness are truly after.
M. Woller plus you need attentive dps who don't run away after two hits of Akh Morn. This keeps happening a lot in Ex and in normal. You'd think after several attempts people would finally listen.
