Yep, I missed this first time playing through as well. It is easy to find but also easy to find if you are actively looking for it. I cannot believe Yoko Taro made such emotional dialogues missable lol
I found it when i looked for the 3rd pod. Directly after it i did the burial sidequest. Man, i cant describe that feeling, this sadness...i never experienced something similar in games ever before... Hit me in the Mark
This is especially sad because this is all of 2B's feelings put into a very short message that was never sent. It was everything she couldn't say before put into a quick message. We don't know how long these two have been together, but it was excruciating for 2B to have to kill 9S over and over again. Perhaps dozens, maybe hundreds of times. It's obvious 2B tries to keep her distance to minimize the pain and guilt, but she's always attracted to 9S's personality. She occasionally throws out a joke, shows signs of jealousy and embarrassment, and even humors Nines on some of his ideas and thoughts. She can't help it. No matter how hard she tries, she can't keep herself from getting close to him. I don't think of them as lovers, I think of them as more of a closer than family situation. Now that 2B is gone, 9S finally gets to hear how she feels about him, but he can't be happy about it. It only adds to his sadness. This game likes to tear your heart out, cover it in emotional trauma, and then jam it back in..
@@---iy3im 2B's real name is 2E, YorHa Number 2, Type E. Type E models are designed to kill rogue androids. If you did the sidequest, "Amnesia", you would know this. 2E's real assignment was to monitor 9S and kill him whenever he got close to the truth about Project YorHa, so that his memories would be reset. However, she keeps getting too close to 9S, which makes it painful for her to kill him. The music concerts go into more detail about 9S and 2B's past and shows that she has killed him probably dozens of times. 9S even killed himself at one point because he knew how painful it was for 2B to kill him, so he did it himself.
@@smileandnodd i think 9S personality changes because of the signs of affection by 2B, she became less cold and shows more appreciation to 9S. sorry for bad english, i hope the message is understood
You'll notice the city ruins music changes when 2b dies, and the track titles on the soundtracks reflect her hidden message. At first it's called "city ruins - rays of light" and after she dies the track name is called "city ruins - shade".
This shit and when He goes to emils garden to put 2B's sword to rest are the only parts that get me."the time we spent together was like pure light" and "sweet dreams 2B, I'll be with you before long" both make me sob like a man child, and All while playing "kaine salvation" from the original NieR.
There are so many hidden stuff in the game you'd be shocked to know. I got 100% in the game; past the platinum, so I even got 100% fish too and other hidden items. But I found out there are even more secrets in this game. For example, if you defeat the final boss of this game a certain way at a certain level (you can't be too strong) you will experience something amazing. (Spoilers) You have to hack A2 four times and ONLY hack her.
Iván V Nah, you can hack into other stuff in the tower, just make sure you don't attack her any other way than hacking. The hard bit is that if you're over a certain level you'll end the battle before you reach the fourth time. (I couldn't do it as I was way overlevelled, so I just watched a vid of it instead.)
@@Ravagerblade Can't really agree there. As was said above, all 3 characters are extremely important to the story. They are all "main" characters and protagonists of their own individual sections, just as real people are always the protagonists of their own lives.
Missed in translation is the part where 2B says "I want him..." The point of that part is that 2B was about to confess but decided to change subject, it is more obvious in Japanese where she outright says "suki..." which means "I love...". So there's that, for some reason people debate the dynamics of their relationship, but the game makes it very clear that it was a romantic one, they just could never confess.
In the Japanese Dub, I don't know if I'm the only one who heard this but, I heard su/ki or the Japanese of love/like or something. I figured that 2B hesitated to tell 9S that she loved him because she knows she's gonna die and she doesn't want to give 9S the burden of a stronger depression. If she told him that she loved 9S, he would've died after going insane, with disregard for any other life, she wanted the old 9S to stay, unfortunately, Yoko Taro literally pulled a middle finger and threw every depressing events at Nines like being forced to fight clones of 2B, almost gets his memories taken, and the revelation of 2B's true purpose. But deep down, 2B loves 9S. If she didn't she would've just abandoned him at the hands of another Executioner type and gets her memories of him deleted.
i think that's why in the english dub she says "I want him..." which can be taken in two ways in english, like how "suki" in japanese has a bit of an ambiguous meaning too (or so i've heard)
The story made me cry, the credits made me cry on Ending E, the mission made me cry, now fucking missable items made me cry. Seriously how is this game making me cry without making me cry
kontrol42 Judging from his previous games, the main characters from Automata are probably not going to appear in another installment. Side characters like Jackass might appear though.
SPOILERS No they're not. 2B was actually killed by A2, 9S is either dead or is just data traveling through space (depending on your choice at the end) and A2 dies in both endings. I don't really get how you could make a sequel with this... Plus, Yoko Taro never made 2 games featuring the same main characters. So this is VERY unlikely.
How did I miss this?! I’ve been to the flooded city a billion times for the DLC and never noticed?! I’m going there right now just because I haven’t done enough damage to my emotions yet.
Damn. I'm usually very thorough when it comes to finding things likes this. I always wondered where this dialogue was in the game as it's played a bit in the intro. From the looks of it, it's right on the shore where the missles are in the Flooded City. Damn... >:(
over9000% sad. As the whole game. Ending music. I finished it like 3 days ago, and I can't give up on it yet. It's an amasing game, on all fronts, and it's coming from a guy working in game dev. So I usually treat games as just 'works', look at them from perspective of developer. But damn... this hit me in the heart.
I am thinking about doing it too, maybe even from scratch, but whats stopping me is that I feel like I'll become a complete emotional wreck by the time it beat it 100% and have to finally put it down for good.
I've platinum'd this game, beat it a dozen times, but I've never seen this... thanks for showing me this. But also screw you for showing me this! (Joking) Just when I think this game has made me shed my last tear over it here's one more.
Fortunately if A2 finds it, she'll tell pod to leave the message because it isn't any of her business. Imagine how weak the emotional impact would've been if that wasn't the case
1:05 aiight, cmon, the kids in replicant, after kaine and emil busted through their system holding memories, observing kaine as an exceptional replicant... talking about the light... yep, definitely a connection lol
