How could galvano think he won with 4 or 5 flurry in only last round constantly holding for days definitely delusional but very tiring watching it tempted to turn boring
I wonder why the ref allowed Galvano to run in and hold constantly, leaning on him constantly, then even stopping the fight to get his glove taped 6 seconds from the end of the round...then Galvano thinking he won at the end of the fight.....weird night
The best bit of the fight was the last 5 seconds, Galvano looked more shocked than Benn. Awful negativity from the Italian how can anyone score rounds for that
Benn nearly always looked smaller in stature than his middleweight / super middleweight opponents. Makes me wonder if he wouldn't have been more suited to the 154lb, light middleweight category.
This how boxing was shown on terrestrial tv on ITV with that Happy Mondays soundtrack.ITV invested in boxing on a huge scale with the big fight shows on Saturday night. You had an hour timeslot, there would be the preliminaries before the fight,10 minutes of clips of pre fight press conference, interviews with the fighters and some clips of their previous fights. Then there was an advert break then the two fighters would enter the ring.It was better than sky where you get 4 hours of the total undercard first. Why watch all that?.ITV still showed clips of the undercard if there was time.
I've been married 49 years and the wife hasn't hugged me as many times as Galvano has hugged Nigel and who's that referee, his mother? He's truly awful.
Galvanos punch and grap style is what we have today. Calzaghe was the first to base his entire career on it, now everyone's doing it and it has utterly ruined boxing.
In all his fights Benn used the rabbit punch without penalties. It is a miracle he did not wreck other fighters than McClellan. He was a warrior, has big heart but in that respect, he was dirty.
At least he didn't hold and do anything except fight like that little coward Galvano. Crazy thing is,in Italy, they would've given the decision to him. He didn't get one warning for holding. I blame Benn also. He knew it would be that sort of fight, just easy money , but not fair to the fans. You might want to watch McClellans first fight with Julian Jackson, I think he got damaged in that fight.
He didn't do it excessively or cynically, he did it when his opponent was clinging on and turning his head away - i.e., avoiding boxing which is not within the rules. Galvano was not only ridiculously spoiling the fight with his deliberate clinching, he was routinely headlocking and leaning on Benn's neck to illegally stop him punching Galvano and to tire Benn out. That said, ideally the ref would have given clear warnings to them both, and said to Benn after the third example "Look don't rabbit punch even once or I'll take a point off, don't worry about Galvano clinching because I'm warning him the next time he holds on like that I'm taking a point off".
@@umvhu Yep, he needed to be explicit and give warnings to both fighters not to foul or mess about. Galvano was excessively clinching and headlocking, Benn was doing a rabbit punch or two in most of those ridiculous clinches by Galvano, but the ref should have been clear with both of them that this behaviour wouldn't go unpunished.
World rated referee!!!! My arse. It was more like a bloody wrestling match. Typical ITIA. Nigel however, should have stood back and jabbed much more, instead of trying to go for the big one.
An OK fight , for a distance , untidy affair. But what I found strange was for the fight and the decision it was on the ITV network, then it switched to EUROSPORT . The difference between the two was massif. ITV had Ben up by 4-5 rounds and EUROSPORT had Benn just nicking the one round, and said it was very close. I agree with the ITV pundits more, and thought Benn won it comfortable. Though Galvano used every trick he knew, and I think did a good job staying in there.......... That last flurry though from Galvano , if that was earlier in the fight, I do not think it would have stopped Benn( he could of taken a knee) but I think it would of opened up the fight and the fight would have been a more entertaining affair.
What an ugly fight... Galvano fought to survive.. but he controlled the fight, he was never hurt. Ugly fights have two losers.. It was an ugly fight... I judge ugly fights like this, who got hurt the most.. Benn. was seconds away from getting knocked out.in the 12th. bell saved him, watch Benn stagger back to his corner after the bell.. If Galvano had some gonads and had gone for it like that in the 11th round, he would have knocked Benn out in the next round.. .
That was a disgrace of a title shot more holding them punching that's sad puts boxing 2nd place to UFC Nigel Ben was so afraid of Ray Jones James Toney that's why you kept the title in London he would have got KO in America
Galvano held on during the whole fight. The little coward didn't come to fight. Just some weird moral victory in lasting the distance. I went to the first fight. Galvano surrendered hoping for a technical draw or even ,to have the fight awarded to him, an embarrassment
Benn should have lured him in for the clinch then stepped back and uppercut him. His dad was right. Should have had a point deducted for holding and for hitting Benn when he was on the ground. Crap ref. The Italian took some good punches though
Jay pike@ Behave. Look at James Toney he done the same, Lennox Lewis also done it and the worst of the Lot for it was Bruno. Then again, if the opponent is constantly wrapping his arms around you to spoil the fight, its a good technique to make them let go.
You talk one of shit mate galvano did everything to avoid a boxing natch he’d been more at home in the WWE the amount grappling n holding he did this gralvano clown no boxer he’s a wank
Really? And what about dodgy, dirty, stink the house out Galvano? You must be having a laugh dude. Benn must have battered a family member of yours or something. Professonally of course! Lol
