The word "Hero" is very much overused these days, but those people really did earn the title HERO.

absolutely Nigel. Very interesting & what a heart moving story of that young man Sergeant Denis Noble. At 20 and a Sergeant pilot he must have been a talented young man indeed. Shame for his parents. Rest in peace now.

I will definately visit this museum . I visited RAF Hendon in North London just a few weeks ago . Reading about the men and women who sacrificed themselves for us is heartbreaking , many of those who lost their lives were in their early twenties , it's difficult to comprehend the fear and courage of those who died for us .

My wife and I took a train trip (little bit of a walk too) from Hounslow to Hendon on a visit from Australia a few years ago. Great place. Almost missed the world war 1 exhibits in the adjacent building.

My wife and I visited this museum just this week and it was a truly interesting and worthwhile visit. The volunteers were helpful and ready with lots of information. I can't recommend it enough. I can't help feeling the just stop oil brigade and others like them should be forced to go round the museum and read about what fighting for your country really means. We are in nothing like the danger now that we were in WWII and they should be rejoicing that life in the UK is as good as it is.

What would these pilots have thought about their sacrifice if they could have seen how the politicians have engineered an invasion through the back door via Dover?

I would say stop trying to use their sacrifice to advance your political aims. You don't know what they thought. Stop pretending you do.

@@mijicmugendo We all know the truth that many peoples from other nations fought on our side, ive never met anyone who has a problem with it and does not know it, we are grateful , unless you have been hiding indoors most of your life, but at the same time the left can't help but sneer at any pride in our armed forces and what they managed to achieve in the end. .

An excellent visit. Many people sacrificed during WW2 to make our victory possible against a right wing, fascist regime. We all need to be on our guard against such agitatiors who want to play the immigrant/racist/religious card.
@lynnecromack4933
@lynnecromack4933 Год назад
True, but I dont think it was a right-wing facsist regime. More like a Far-Left one. Fascism has it roots in hard communism.

we have a left wing fascist regime now. They also play the immigrant, racist and religious card, if you question anything about illegal immigration and the negative impact it has on local communities and the country as a whole, or you dare to talk about anyone with a protected status in less than praise worthy way then you will be arrested for hate speech.

These guy's never encountered 'trigger warnings, diversity quota's, positive discrimination or gender neutral language' whilst in the military, these are people of real strength and bravery. Today a man can wear a skirt in the army if he so identifies as a woman, appearance doesn't matter any more, along with discipline it's been repackaged as 'oppressive'. I bet these guys at their age would still protect our shores, Dover could do with a hand. I would get to this museum quick, you can't rely on our history to remain with us at the rate of how it's being deliberately being rewritten by authors/political activists and vandals.

These men died for their country, their town, their families. They didn't sign up to fight Fascism or any other "ism". They were patriots. Theirs was a fantastic generation, my parent's generation. Was their sacrifice worth it, in the long run?

My father was in the RAF from 1937 to 1972. Mother was in the RAF during the war and my brother served for over twenty years. All gone now but I still have a daughter carrying on the legacy in the Royal Australian Air Force over fifteen years service and two overseas deployments. The sad thing was at a centenary celebration in 2020, they focused mainly on trans gender equity and racial diversity as well as recognising the 'significant' contribution of Australian aboriginals in the air force. Not sure what that is exactly but there we have it.

Lord help us if we have to rely on the current generation of woke kids to defend us . I’ll agree there are many that are very capable and would take up arms but it’s the sheer number of woke kids that scares me , we would not be able to raise enough capable people to defend ourselves . You can imagine half of them would run terrified from the beaches cus they have a shellfish allergy or wouldn’t go into a field because their gluten intolerant ! And God help them when the enemy uses the wrong pronoun , they’ll collapse in tears. We are truely a divided and broken country. But wasn’t that the plan all along ! All hail Klaus , his forebears may have failed but this new tactic is working a treat .
