SR 34067 Tangmere Restarts the Northern Belle at Oxenholme 6/4/24.

SR 34067 Tangmere would be the motive power for the 2nd Northern Belle of 2024 from York to Carlisle with 34067 joining at Carnforth for the climb over Shap. We decided to go nearer Kendal as the forecast was heavy rain at Shap so Oxenholme was the location but things did not go to plan as Tangmere came to a stand just South of Oxenholme station so we capture the restart from three angles. The return sees 34067 at Waitby Rock cutting but sadly even my Rode blimp struggled with the Gale force wind conditions so apologies for the poor sound .Thanks to Nige for the company and the lift today.Believe Tangmere was signal checked due to possible trespassing at Grayrigg. Apologies for the glitch in the 3rd shot due to technical issues.Please note the second shot from the field is by permission only so you need to ask the farmer at the driving range for permission.

A good decision to catch the train early on Steve as the gale had reached me waiting at Scout Green. Gave you some great shots of the restart and some decent sound. Tricky day filming in the gale at Waitby but the video turned out ok. Take care - Chris

Steve, Whilst not planned, the start from s standstill at Oxenholme was something different to the usual high speed pass through. Great exhaust and sound from Tangmere. Regards, John

We went on this train last year and it was a fabulous experience. The speed we went up Shap made me realise that the Class 47 was very busy on the back.

Not ideal weather infact gale force winds, but a great show from the Station and the re start made for some nice clag, it was even windier later, but still a good un atWaitby cutting, cheers . 🎥👍
