Very interesting presentation. About parallel 5ths, because the nature of plucked instruments is that the sound fades, you clearly showed that those 'pesky perfect parallels of the division are not actually audible against the FADING anchor sound. This begs the question as to do whether the eventual prohibition of these 'naught errors' was more obviously heard in organ playing, where the sound of the anchor note could be sustained (by touch) against which the 'pesky, passing note' became a no-no. I suspect that this instrumentally-specific observation could have become the origin of the norm for the prohibition of all parallel 5 or 8, which NOW includes such things as hidden-parallels. Any other thoughts?
