Ingredients makes approximately 24 for the biscuits 250 grams of soft butter 150g of caster sugar 40 g of cocoa powder 300 grams of plain flour Half a teaspoon of bicarb of soda One teaspoon of baking powder For the festive toppings 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder 175g of icing sugar 60 ml of boiling water from a kettle One teaspoon of vanilla extract Christmas sprinkles. Personally I had a bit of milk with mine because there is a bit dry.
This is the recipe I found for the topping: 2 x 15ml tablesp cocoa powder 175g icing sugar 60ml boiling water, from a kettle 1 tsp vanilla extract Sprinkles (hundreds and thousands) You may need to add a bit more icing sugar to thicken up the glaze it if lacks the right consistency. Hope this helps :o)
For those of you wondering its 250g of butter, 300g of plain flour, tsp baking powder, .5 tsp of bicarb and 40g of cocoa. I bake them at 160 degrees celcius for about 10 mins. As per usual nigella overstates the temperature and cooking time a little.
I have done this recipe! Really recommend it! Great for when you don't want to buy biscuits from shops. Very tasty and always are a great success with friends!
Kertakaikkisen hyviä ja mureita. Ohjeesta jäänyt pois vaniljauute. Lisäsin Fazerin tummaa leivontasuklaata, se iso, yhden rivin, rouhin siitä vain puukolla mixeriin. *** These are absolutely good and crispy.I put within little bit dark baking chocolate.
oops... only need 1/2 cup butter.... (not twp 1/2cups as suggested above), and I like to mix by hand, right after I stir the dry ingredients together... :)
tried this recipe, but for some reason, it always turned out wrong for me :( Instead, I tried 1cup flour, 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 cup butter, 1tsp baking powder, 1/2tsp bicarb, and 3tbsp of cocoa, and finally, 1/2cup butter. Mix well and bake for 10 mins at 350 degrees F. Turned out just like Nigella's, at least looked like that, and tasted heavenly.... :) just thought I'd share, in case anyone else has had similar problems... :)
True words. :) I'm athletic but in general I do my best to avoid the 'crap' that markets put out there (processed food, aspartame, mononatriumglutamate, other types of glutes, processed modified corn,..). :o
Hey guys! Does anybody have this cookie and cookie topping recipe in American measurements? If anyone does-- that would be totally awesome! Thank you much!
Just so you know, I was actually reading your comment until I saw "She is the daughter of God". Yeah... she's not. If she has a family/kids, great for her, that's awesome. Because she has a family I can't comment on her bountifully beautiful chest? Nerd.
