I know the last thing the world needs is another old white dude giving his opinion, but hear me out....I'm a 50y/o gen X kid, that cut his teeth on rap n hip-hop in the 80s with groups like Public Enemy, Run DMC, Beastie Boys and LL Cool J. And I've always has a wide range of musical flavor I consumed, but the last decade or so I almost gave up on rap with all the mumble rappers n shit, just figured I was becoming an old head, and didn't get the music anymore. Then comes along Tobe, holy shit was my mind blown, I'm telling ya he is what the rap game needs right now!! You know he was a shoe in for the NFL, blew his knee out Senior year, ended up homeless and in a deep depression. Shook himself off, started a ministry to help kids get off the streets, started rapping as a way to connect, and the rest is history. He don't forget his roots either, (SWAT, outside of Houston) If you're not familiar with his music yet, some great tracks to start with are, "RAKIM & Z-RO TRIBUTE FREESTYLE" do the twisted sundays video, also you can't go wrong with "FYE FYE" official video, if you can stay in your chair that entire song without jumping up in excitement I'll send ya crisp new bill with General Grant on it!! I just got turned on to Coast Contra through Tobe, they are fire as well, can't wait to check out their other music. Oh yeah, Tobe said in a radio interview a while back, how to pronounce his name if you Nigerian and speak Igbo or Hausa, like you pronounce it, but he said if you born n raised in the U.S. please don't slaughter our beautiful language, and just pronounce my last name "en-wig-wey".. Thought that was pretty cool of him to explain it like that. ✌️

This was one of the most beautiful things I have listened to in years. I don't relate with the message that well being a white guy in oklahoma but I can recognize talent and beauty I am not even joking I got teary eyed watching that video and listening for the first time. The video having the Coast Contra freestyle table set up is incredible. I don't know who did what for this but this should be more popular than anything kanye releases this year.
