Scammers ruined our reputation in Nigeria. Whenever i meet new people online they always try to avoid me cos they think I'm a scammer and its always painful. There are good people here also.

I'm a Nigerian and I also think that you got double scammed. These things are usually well planned in such a way that you don't see it coming. I mean, why would he avoid a video chat? We also encounter scammers here on a frequent basis and that's how we've learned to not fall prey.

As a Nigerian I find it hard to believe this story. From the line of conversation and the use of words like "pawn shops" makes it very unbelievable considering we don't have or use those words to qualify outlets that buys second handed items. Secondly no Nigerian scammer will give you this much audience knowing you are aware he is a scammer. And so many other off conversations.

i work at USPS and everyone who is sending to Nigeria or any part of Africa i ask them if they know that person or if they sold it online.. then i ask them did you make sure they paid you? 9 out of 10 they don’t send the package..

I work in a hospital in Nigeria and I can tell you authoritatively that fasting blood sugar costs less than a dollar here and insulin injections doesn't cost that much either. From my inference you got scammed by someone from another nationality, using Nigeria as a smokescreen. Scammers are everywhere. Before you embark on such generosity seek my counsel.

It kind of broke my heart that there are others in the world who had to resort to such acts such as scamming to survive, what is normally a given to us in the Western world. If you compare the need for insulin & medical procedures to Christmas presents, the luxury of the presents seems insignificant. I know it’s terrible to be scammed, but if I had known that he needed it for medical reasons to live, & he was remorseful, I would forgive him. We all need to be kind & empathetic. There need to be an organisation that assists Nigerian youths to better their job prospects & livelihood 🙁

Friends, this is not a happy story. there are people in africa that can't have their medicences because they have no money. there are people in the USA that can't have *their* medicene because they have no money. that's the root cause of all this harm that's going on. For those of you Pleasant Green haters: First off, if you say everything's fake, try to pay attention. If you've been watching the channel for a few years, you'll remember Joel in Liberia (hey, how's he doing?) A Scam Story, and Chikaordery. Sure, he has to make it a story, so he can't just give a transcription of a text message conversation and call it a day. Plus, there is a reasonable amount of time between videos, to find scammers and contact them. And, how does he do the grabify link procedure? It would be a time consuming procedure to: 1) Get VPN and change location and time 2) Change browser, etc. 3) Get foreign device and click on the link And for those of you who will say grabify doesn't exist, well try using your brains. It does exist. I've used it on numerous occasions.

Last scam was "April/May", I thought Christmas was in December. 🤔

So much about his story raises alarm bells... I looked up the cost of that test and it came out under $3 US not the $75 I think it was he said. Also $200 for insulin, in 2022 $500 woukd have covered a whole years supply. I would have made him name the church he was sleeping behind, and found the pastor to confirm his story was true. I would have asked him a lot of questions about his diabetes, because the fakers trip up pretty fast. Nice that you got the money back for his victim, but, I doubt he has stopped scamming. I know this is an old video, and I think you'd ask a lot more questions now.

I work 12hours shift and get paid 30,000 naira after the month has ended. 30,000 naira that is not even up to 1 hundred dollar, is what I've got to survive for the whole month. I have to feed from it. Will transport myself to work everyday, buy new pams(shoes) if this one I'm having on cuts. Will want to get a shirt or trouser from it. Will want to sub my phone, at least 1000 naira. Which will not take me anywhere. I still have family(parents and siblings) issues to tend to. Many bills to pay that are unlisted. And my career is there. All these needs to be met with just what I earn as salary. And I'm 26 now and not yet married. So tell me, how do you expect such a person not to steal? How are you expected to value a life when you don't have one? Come on, we don't choose to throw stones at glass houses just because we don't have one. We do things to keep ourselves safe. The poor young ones here are seriously suffering. We're dying silently in pains, with nowhere to run to. We want good educations too. But after that, who is going to offer you a good job? So brother, our government is really contributing a lot to this. There's never a smoke without the fire. We're not completely blameless. And our government should be very ashamed of the mess they've made. They turned us to what we are. They turned the glory of the nation to the beasts you see now. I feel like weeping for us. We just want to survive not to die. You steal a loaf of bread to eat these days. You'll be stoned to death and burnt with tyres to ashes, even before the so called police arrives. Here in Nigeria, only those born with silver spoons are living the life. The rest of us strive to survive. We're the voice in the street that no one cares to listen to.
