Night 4 on ICON OF THE SEAS - Dinner at Hooked Seafood - An Honest Review / Adventure Ocean & Casino

Join us as we embark on ‪@RoyalCaribbean‬'s Icon of the Seas out of the Port of Miami for a 7-night Eastern Caribbean Cruise. This was for Spring Break 2024 and we left on March 23, 2024.
On this night, we chose to eat at Hooked Seafood for the 2nd night of our 3-night specialty dining package. Once again, we were unable to secure a reservation for 3 people, so we just made one for 2 people and ordered Rider's dinner to go.
Now, when we went to drop off Rider at Adventure Ocean at 8:10pm and our dinner reservation was at 8:15pm. However, when we went, A.O. was temporary closed for Roll Call. This was the 3rd time this happened to us and what we learned was about an hour after each session starts, they conduct a roll call and they temporarily shut down for 15-20 minutes, no kids in, no kids out. This is fine, but my problem with this is that it is NOT communicated to the parents. This is something that could easily be communicated to the parents when you first sign up. We ended up being about 20 minutes late to our dinner reservation. Fortunately, Guest Services had called for us and let them know of the situation.
Hooked Seafood was amazing. This was our first time eating at Hooked and I highly recommend it if you like seafood. Just know that if the Aqua show is going on, it is extremely loud. This didn't bother us, but I could see how it could bother some.
After that, we went to Casino Royale to rack up some more points to possibly qualify for a "free" cruise. Our new goal is 1500 points and I explain why in the video.
We also went to the Family Silent Disco on Surfside which was a lot of fun, in addition to the One-Hit Wonders party on the Royal Promenade.

Just wondering when you choose hooked from your dining package, if it only comes with you’re choice of one appetizer, one soup or salad, and one entrée as opposed to ordering as much as you would like with no extra charge?

All the dining on this ship does not look or feel very nice and it’s so loud. I can’t imagine buying a package and there’s no room🤦🏻‍♀️

The dining is actually really great and there are a lot of options. Yes, many places are loud, but some are not. And I agree with the package. It's because you cannot pre-book reservations if you purchase a package.

You purchase the 3 Dining Package for the three of you and Royal was no able to accommodate a Child in Hooked?

We couldn’t get a decent time for 3. I mentioned this in my Embarkation video and I’m going to go more in detail in a follow up video. But basically, with the 3 night package and the unlimited dining package, you cannot pre-book your reservations. You have to do so on the ship. We tried at 12:30pm on embarkation day and the only times were after 9pm. personally, I would never book the dining packages again, especially on Icon, because you cannot prebook your dinner reservations. The line at guest services of people requesting a refund was ridiculous. This has continued to be an ongoing issue.

@@ShannonFord I'm going with a family group and 16 people reserved the 3 Night Dining Package, I'm planing to be at port at 10:00am to see if i can reserve some Restaurants at decent time, If no i'm going for the Refund. I prefer RCCL but other lines as NCL let you reserved ahead of time. Thanks for the Info. I saw your first video when you talk a little bit about the Dining Package.

So those with the biggest parties had the hardest time. It will be nearly impossible to find a decent reservation time. Basically what will be available is very early like 5pm or after 9pm, if anything. What I plan to do in the future is book them individually, yes it’s more money, but you can reserve the date and time you want. I can’t eat gluten, so there are certain nights I knew I didn’t want to eat in Main Dining because my choices were limited. The nights with the most availability were formal nights, but those are also the best nights in the Main Dining Room.
