not really scary, but the amount of towns I've been to that simply don't exist. I ride cross country on motorcycle all the time, and I will be on the tail end of a long day, many hundreds of miles down, and I come across a fork in the road. well, as an explorer, I must take that right fork off the main road. it's taken me through beautiful mountain towns surrounded by brilliant fields of wildflowers, to beach towns where there is no pavement, just the neat houses and sandy streets filled with the sound of music and jolly people. I can never find these places on any maps when I review my trips, they just aren't there. it's a weird experience.
The ostrich one reminds me a photo I've seen on the internet recently. A wildlife camera trap picked up an ostrich in a forest in a national park in our small central European country. Lots of lols were had. (And the owner came forth and said that they've already got it back home, all's well that ends well.)
Driving in the downtown of a city I grew up in. This spot is kinda badly light at night due to two older buildings pressed up to the road, old oak tree and small ally all in the same space. I was driving along and spotted something large in the lane I was merging too. Realized at the literal last possible second it was a human with his head laying directly in front of my tires. I wasn't able to stop in time but I did whip my car into the next lane over. Thankfully it was 10 or 11 at night so possible to do without causing a different crash. I pulled into the empty parking lot of the car repair shop that I was driving past grabbed my cell phone and ran back up the road praying that nobody else had hit him while dialing 911. Thankfully another car came along and saw my frantic waving so they didn't run him over and were able to stop before passing him and throw on their hazard lights. If I'd been a second slower and reacting I think I would have killed him that night. I was, honestly still am frustrated at this gentleman for putting complete strangers in the situation where they could have completely accidentally taken his life.
Had a black bear jump out into the road right in front of me once, running in front of my car for a while. Had to slam my breaks, which I had just gotten fixed the day before. Eventually he hopped off on the other side of the road
People driving without any lights on. Front or rear. Invisible until I was nearly upon them, or got lucky and caught them in the ambient light. I don’t get it at all.
4:56 - OP was being too nice. A man following two women, on their tail with high-beams on on the road at night...how many more signs do you need to know the guy is planning something and has probably done this before. Serial killer moves in my opinion. 10:14 - A 500 person town and 9 bars. Okay.
When i was 20, i was driving home from work at around 2:30am. I worked at a convenience store and stayed 5 hours because someone had an emergency and were coming to work late. My job was 40 min from my house through suburbs. When i left work, a tinted white van came off the interstate 20 min into my drive and was behind me, so my paranoid mind said that they were following me. I now my town pretty good and know where every road goes and connects plus the alleys and dirt roads. The van followed me through every which way, for 40 min, and i drive past every way through and out my city. So then i called a friend from HS who became a State Trooper, he's positioned in the station in my city. I told him what was happening, and he said to go the opposite direction of 3 one ways and cut through a graveyard near his position. The van did the same, when we post my friend, my friend pulled up with 2 other trooper cars and flashed their lights. The van didn't stop, so my buddy said to drive into the parks walking trail, that he's called for back up so i wouldn't be close. I turned my lights off and drove through the trail going no one was on it, stayed on the phone with my friend. After 20min, i lost the van and my friend said they got 2 more troopers and were getting him to a closed camp but that i didn't go home and should hide out at a local cop spot. When the van got to the site, they rammed into the trees, got stuck, and 2 guys in masks ran into the forest.
I started at the cop spot until my buddy and a detective came to give a statement and they gave me more info. Apparently the van has no plates, registration, info, nothing. And that the 2 guys disappeared into the forest with a bookbag and duffel bag and they're still being searched for. The detective drive me home with a cop driving my car home in case anything happened asking they way. When i got home, i yanked down some big branches from the trees nearby to hide my car. Next day at work, the cops in the city from my job came to talk to me after they heard what happened. Apparently that van has stalked and attacked people with 2-5 people coming out of it to steal cars and money. For the next month i kept getting escorted home but the van didn't show up and the guys weren't caught until 5 months later when 3 of them got caught in a sting operation to get them. It's been 7 years and they haven't caught the other 2
I got a bunch… Latest one is from today There’s a horse farm by Blue mountain,Ontario. They run sleigh rides. Once you leave, if you were to follow the GPS, it takes you to an unassumed road where you are sure to get stuck. CAA won’t come, OPP won’t help, no neighbours around to help…my in laws got stuck there, driving an SUV with winter tires on. There were three other cars there already! When I called the farm, they gave me privet towing company that was there even though I didn’t call them. They charged 500$ per car for the tow.I wonder if there is any collusion with the farm and the towing company
10:40 I mean they farm ostriches in IL (its apparently considered one of our specialty crops, which is odd since ostriches are animals) so I'm not that surprised!
if i was driving a semi i would of just smashed that wrong way driver out of the road and claim that i couldn’t see them cause it was night and semi trucks usually have the cab pretty high up so you can miss things like small motorcycles or cars which is also why i don’t want to work driving a semi truck unless i have no other choice cause i don’t want to be responsible for hurting or killing an innocent person or probably multiple animals just trying to cross the road even if it is just a freak accident
My parents almost hit a coyote...might have been a wolf? Either or, I was asleep and was suddenly woken up by the car going up on two wheels. Frikin most scary thing ever. And hearing the panic of parents made me wonder if I was about to see Jesus lol.
