Jon was about as good a man and boyfriend as anyone could ever be, and it was Daneerys herself who fucked that up, constantly threatened Jon's family, and defied her unreasonable demands about his identity. if Dany is truly a good queen and a good person, she should not fear rival claimants in the slightest.
Nah, the Night King would be too cold. 3.0, I see your reply is an old post but even with the character assassination in season 8 Dany didn't "constantly threatened Jon's family". If anything it was Sansafinger who started off the bad blood for no justified reason. Remember when Sansafinger is complaining Dany is there to help protect The North and Greater Westeros.
@@icefiredawn Thank you for saying that. I call the season 8 character Sansafinger because people can honestly debate if that is the same character as Sansa or not. What I can say is that what season 8 Sansafinger did was very petty and stupid. The Jon-Dany alliance is keeping both Sansafinger and Jon alive against not 1 but 2 mortal enemies, Cersei and the Night King. Sansa in the start of season 7 tried to warn Jon that Cersei would try to kill them. So the actual Sansa should be happy to see Jon found a girlfriend that can help with that problem. If Sansafinger was actually successful in breaking up the Jon-Dany alliance then that could create a three way war with Jon having the smallest army, no dragons, and a new target on his back. Thus would be a way to get both herself and Jon killed. Meanwhile, especially if she wanted to keep running things in Winterfell, a Sansa concerned about The North could actually push Dany and Jon closer together so that The North gets favored status among the 7 kingdoms-something that could be helpful if The North ran low on food. As a side note that would also keep Jon down in King's Landing so she could run things where they grew up.
Totally agree with this, minus the whole nk demise. I feel like it was JS and AS that together took care of NK. Though with limited footage- yeah. I love this ONLY TOOK UNTIL THE NEW YEAR for someone to actually do an AU where the shiv didn't happen, this was stunning that editing with the blue fire and the use of the scores so well done. Thank you so much for making this, it...helped me let go.
Thank you, Dany should’ve been able to burn the night king with dragon fire and kill him. Valareyan steel is forged with the same magic that dragons were born from. It was an ass pull from the writers to not allow her to burn him.
@@redshadow4146 in the books the dragons are the ultimate weapon to defeat the others (white walkers) and not just the wights. this mad queen plot won't even happen in the books as well. dany and jon were suppose to be azor ahai reborn to defeat euron and the others, but d&d fucked up
The inconsistencies with Valyrian steel, dragon glass, and dragon fire make no sense whatsoever. The only thing I can think is that a specific spell would had to have been cast over Valyrian steel while being forged by the Children of the Forest, but that still doesn’t work because the Children and dragons weren’t even in the story in the same timeline.
Actually The North cheered Dany after the battle (even if they liked Jon more) as she had fought alongside them and proved herself to them. By the time Sansafinger is oathbreaking about Jon's linage it is Sansafinger being a stubborn holdout and not following Northerners will.
@@icefiredawn Yup, if you rewatch the scene of the celebration after defeating the Night King Dany is cheered by the Northmen as is Jon and Arya (they each are given a turn). Then they try to make Dany seem out of place by having more people focus on Jon after that. They may still like Jon more but that doesn't matter since he is still very loyal to Dany and a major point is that respect for Dany has increased. So what happened in The North for Dany is arguably a public relations success, not a failure. BTW when Tormund is talking to Jon he "kinda forgot" that both he and most of the rest of the surviving members of the team from season 7 have flown on a dragon-this happened when Daenerys rescued them. 2 other things you may not have heard about that I sometimes point out. 1. There is evidence they changed their plans for season 8 and wildfire was supposed to be the earlier way King's Landing gets destroyed. Don't forget it is in stashes all over the city and if a dragon is burning Lannister soldiers or even Cersei in the Red Keep that can cause a horrible accident to occur as once 1 wildfire stash goes off it can start setting off other stashes. I suspect the writers changed this because they realized Jon may not agree to an assassination attempt over something Dany never wanted to have happen. Both commentary from the special effects crew, official concept art for season 8, and more provide bits of evidence to support this. 2. The writers of season 8 "kinda forgot" that bells don't mean surrender in King's Landing. Not only does Davos state this in season 2 but events show him to be correct and show it quite clearly.
The only thing that could have made this better would be if she ordered Drogon to burn the iron throne and made the dragon pit the throne room, symbolic to her being open to the concerns of the people unlike her predacessors. Still a great ending though.
I dont think she really cares about peoples concerns anymore she just killed thousands of innocents when she could have just burned the castle instead.
Don't usually reply to posts this old but Will C. May had an excellent point. Also remember Daenerys (the actual character) began transitioning Meereen to a democracy (along the form of a constitutional monarchy) before she left. StarfulDream Season 8 was damaging to and out of character for multiple characters. No way would the actual Daenerys say the words that were said to Jon episode six of season 8. Moreover evidence emerged the earlier plans for season 8 were that King's Landing gets destroyed by wildfire rather than dragonfire but the writers changed that-perhaps like they decided to drop Cersei having a miscarriage from season 7 even though that was also a last minute major change for that character. I suspect the reason season 8's writers decided to change why King's Landing was destroyed is because they realized Jon would be unlikely to agree to an assassination attempt over something Dany never wanted to happen.
@@pplr1 It would have been so much better had it been clear she never wanted it to happen and refused to admit any wrongdoing (that being burning Circi after the surrender triggering the wildfire), putting greyness in Jon's deciding to kill her. Sure it's still stupid because Circi said she used it all for destroying the Sept but at least that would be better than what we got.
