While _Night Slashers_ is one of my favorite retro beat-em-'ups, I had always thought that the horror element of the game loses its steam after the infiltration of the Dracula wannabe's castle.

However it did met the rule of all unnatural spirits caused by advanced technological (alien) stuff plot.

You'd be wrong if you actually thought that, original ideas are born everyday

@@Rexodiak Re:Zero is the first one that comes to me. Some everyman is brought to another world with the power to go back in time every time he dies. Just that power is original, but the reasons for why he has it make it even more unique. Also, a lot of Brandon Sanderson's books have original stuff. The Mistborn world has an original magic system, Stormlight Archives does too i believe.

@@BygoneT listen to the courses Brandon gives on university and uploads on his yt channel to be proven wrong. Sanderson himself said every idea has been done, the difference is in execution. Dedicates a whole class to ideas in particular. "Return by Death" power, also known as "Temporal Resurrection" is an actual trope. All You Need is Kill did it in 2004, Discworld did it in 2001, even Undertale did it. There's an entire webpage dedicated to that power seen in media. The reasons why he has it I don't know them but I'm sure they aren't something never seen before. Don't forget Re:Zero is an isekai, and the idea of a miserable isekai has already been done in anime form before in "Now and Then Here and There" and outside of anime is used all the time. What's more is that I'm sure the Re:Zero author doesn't know the other trope originators, and he came up with it himself, it's just that someone already came up with it before.

@@broadbandislife In the Nineties there was a clear difference between zombies and living coprses with magic. And according to the Nigth Slasher lore: These are not zombies but "Living Deaths". With intelligence and all. They can plan ambushes, they can weild knifes and weapons and they can punch and attack like normal people do. If one bites you nothing will happen (asides from a nasty wound). When they catch you they pin you down, kill you and then you are ressurected as an undead by King Kruzt or his acolites.

Not necessarily. In the Resident Evil universe some characters have a natural immunity to zombies, as it is infection by the T-virus which causes the transformation, not just being bitten.

this game came long way ago before switch released... mame is the best app for emulating arcade.. I played this in 2005.

Just emulate it on PC for free. No need to go to the hassle of setting it up for consoles where you'd likely have to pay.

Data East literally copy-pasta'd Guy's combo animations onto her, with the difference being that her final attack in the combo is with what is known as a talisman, a type of paper that used to remove evil spirits from peoples' bodies (according to what I've seen in classic, supernatural fight anime; if anybody knows better than I do, please correct me).

Mostly it Taoist that uses Talisman for Exorcism tools, Shaman tools, and Superstition lucky charm. We mostly saw it from either Animes or Chinese Vampire flicks, as the weapons for various use. For Sealing evils, Banishing demons to just plains Holy paper missiles.

They did fine... althought a few parts were cut from the japanese version. Like a couple instances of dialogue between levels.
