Love the tapping technique being used by EE. Of course, I was fortunate to see EVH do it live in 1980. Even though a big fan of The Cars, I never got to see them in concert. Great guitarist in a really great band. RIP Ben and Ric.

EE was doing this in late 70’s. Seen them on three different tours and they never disappointed me. I got to say though that clapping is annoying.

Elliot had an amazing solo in "Take What You Want" from the Musikladen concert. At least 2 minute solo where he worked some magic. I was hooked before that but dayum. Also Greg gets a guitar and jams with Elliot as well! LOL I love how Greg is so quirky. And they performed hungover too. David Robinson doesn't even remember it.

I've always loved Elliot's solo on this track. All of his solos are terrific. Eddie Van Halen was a master tapper. The earliest tapping I've seen is from Steve Hackett in Genesis in the early 70s.

I saw The Cars first and second tours and the one thing that does not transfer over well on any of the videos I have seen is how powerful they are live. Saw them in Louisville on the Candy-O tour just to see how Elliott was playing that riff in this song (no RU-vid then, heh).
