Sent Sam my 14 when it took a crap, he ID'd the issue, fixed it and returned it most ricky tic AND kept me informed of the process. Works excellent now. Sam is very knowledgeable and a really stand up dude who communicates. Wouldn't trust my NODs to anyone else!

I don’t know why they even offer it that direction. I have an older G24 I’ll always hang on to because it locks left to right so this can’t happen cause it’s already locked.

You should use a tether, or wrap the 14 in 550 cord for a lanyard tie it off to your nvg shroud. Tnvc, LLI sells night vision tethered for a reason, or just use a fuckin 550 cord and tie it to your helmet nvg shroud and wrap it around the entire pvs14. I wrap my entire pvs7 and pvs14 in 550 cord and tie the other end of in 550 cord, I use a small carabiner clip to the shroud and the other end my pvs7 and pvs14 is wrapped in 550 paracord

After discussing this with someone in the comments of another video I moved away from wanting to buy 31's simply because I can't get them serviced. I found what appears to be a civilian version of them (HARRIS F5032's) have you had any experience with them?

Rhino 2 with Dovetail socket is way better than a G24. More adjustment ranges, stronger, force to overcome, and does not have the weak serrated rails that have a lot of chatter/wiggle in them that you have to crank down on a set screw to try to eliminate.

In a high light environment they do OK. They aint worth a shit out in the dark. When you close the Iris of the Matbock down to have a pretty much close up to infinity focus it cuts out so much light you think you are running a Gen 1 device. LOL

Would a bungee cord have prevented that? Asking cuz I’m saving for my first set of NV and I’m pretty freakin scared of dropping or doing something else to damage my NV

Possibly. I'm working on creating my own. Some are just lanyards that drop the nvg into your face. So you just have to be careful

@@KineticConsulting yeah i've used the steele noodle knot and the t.rex sbl and those use shock cord. they're okay but they smack your face... i've also tried the wilcox lanyard which honestly works like a ID Badge lanyard and sometimes shit still hits the floor... something that could work almost like a seat belt to arrest the nods would be great but not sure mechanically if that would still be small and easy.. the wilcox sometimes works but what I've done is shortened the shock cord more... costa defense also has a good system with there SRS but the bag is a big bulky

Ah man, thanks for putting the clip in there. Shit happens, a story for a vid. TRAP Training Exercise: Nods on, Tactical knees engaged. 360 security at LZ, Osprey coming in. Pilot decides to play games. I look right and watch people dropping prone. I think to myself "What's going on?" Eat it! I hit the deck so hard my head whips back, my 14s snap up and my eye pro take a trip into the bush. Mouth agape I slowly drop my nods down and the next day I buy a new pair of eye pro. Shit Happens.

Does that Sam guy have any used tubes he will sell? Years ago I bought a pvs7 housing off eBay and there was a guy with the last name Wilcox in California that sold me a tube. I’d like to buy a used pvs14 tube from someone that knows it’s working and a decent tube. No chance I trust eBay for a tube, thanks.

L.RAD's Airsoft yeah for pvs14 tubes especially I’d hate to trust eBay, someone might have had it mounted behind the scope of a 300win mag or something lol. There was a night vision guy in California named Wilcox that I bought a used tube from, if I could find someone like him again I’d like to buy a used 14 tube. Thanks though

To bad you hadn’t invented the nerd yet, although trex arms had already created a bungee retention system that Velcro’s to the helmet.. his even has straps for Battery’s.

I just use 550 cord as my tether and carabiner clipped to 550 cord on my nvg shroud that I have on my helmet.

So you supposed to be an "expert" teaching others. So why don't you teach what a Lanyard is for. So you state: "these things just happen". I agree, when you don't rig your equipment up correctly, they do happen. Hecque, I am just "Joe Shit The Ragman'" and I know betta than to run a NOD without a Lanyard.

Dude, it's a personal choice. Also like I mentioned in another comment I don't use a lanyard because Most lanyards just let NVGs fall into your face. I'm working on a lanyard system that actually works. Also "expert" isn't something I've ever labeled myself. I'm a student just like you guys. I learn new things daily.

@@KineticConsulting Well your about me page: www.kinetic-consulting.net/about-me and the fact that you are a consultant indicates at least a minimum level of training. Putting a Lanyard on a head mounted NV device is pretty basic 101 protocol, but hey, some guys will even bareback a hooka so I guess each to his own. LOL
