I needed to night wean my son (3rd child) last week at 15 months, and had *no* idea how - he's always been nursed to sleep and throughout the night as we cosleep. I watched your last video and was so encouraged, it was literally the only resource I used and just did it. And my experience was so similar to yours. Waaaaay less crying than I had anticipated... Thank you for the encouragement!!

I so appreciate your honesty in the update. Was expecting you to say, “two week update and we are sleeping through the night solidly” I was pleasantly surprise… because we all have set backs and things change when the kids get sick and when the parents do etc. I have breastfed all three of my babies and I’m contemplating night weaning while co sleeping. It’s such a winding journey. Thanks for your honestly, I saw myself in you and isn’t that what we are all on here (RU-vid) looking for.

Omg this was so helpful! I'm currently in this situation. I co-sleep with my 6month old and exclusively breastfeed, and it has been a challenge to get her to sleep through the night without nursing. I spoke to the pediatrician about this and she suggested I put her in a separate room entirely and let her cry it out, but I just didn't feel comfortable with that. I have tried night weaning and have failed, mainly because I gave in to the nursing just so that I could sleep. Lol. But hearing your experience has inspired me to try again and be consistent. I'm glad to hear that you rocked your baby back to sleep. So many people are against rocking your baby back to sleep. I feel like it sets you up for failure if you can't nurse, rock or pick up your baby to comfort them. Anywho, thanks for making this video I feel re-energized and inspired to try again.

Thank you so much❤ thanks to you now I sleep 5 hours minimum without feeding a baby in 1.5 years🎉🎉🎉 before your video I didn't know that it's possible to feed your baby to sleep and for her not to wake up every 2 hours 😅

We recently night weaned and your first video was really helpful to find the courage to do it and know what to (maybe) expect. We also switched baby to his own room with floor bed at the same time. Partner took the night shifts for a week and it went well. It has felt so great to stop bed sharing and nursing through the night, and the number of wake ups were reduced significantly. I'm amazed at my little one's ability to adapt. :)

Thanks for the helpful video! I'm ready to wean my exclusively breastfed cosleeping almost 16 month old son. He's my 3rd baby, we have 3 boys. I have loved our breastfeeding journey but whew im tired! I am missing my adhd meds which i haven't been able to take since i was pregnant with our 3yr old! Even though I weaned my 3yr at 22m while pregnant, I didn't have a plan. It took longer than it needed to. I'm glad I found this video and can now make a good plan! I hope to be done in a month for our 5th wedding anniversary. Our first chance for a child free night since our wedding night! 💜

This is the video I needed. I’m 26 weeks pregnant and my 17 month old still nurses to sleep and nurses frequently throughout the night. I’ve tried night weaning so many times, but always cave because I can’t stand just letting her cry. It needs to happen though because the dry nursing is painful, and I have no idea how I’ll manage a newborn and a nursing toddler

In a similar boat. Curious if you exclusively breastfeed and if so, how you knew your milk supply was dropping? I don't know how to tell but have been wondering.
@elizaking5148
@elizaking5148 Год назад
@@oceanbreeze671 not exclusively breastfeeding because she eats solids, but she’s never had a bottle. I could tell my supply was dropping when my boobs stopped feeling as full between nursing, and I stopped being able to hand express as much. As this point when I try to hand express it’s barely a drop, so I know I’m still technically producing, just a very small amount.

I was waiting for this video! Because I really liked your first. My son is 13 months, we co sleep and nurse all night long. It got too much and I I have been wanting to wean the nights for a while. We started one night not intentionally, when he was just crying for “too” long I couldn’t go back so I said now we start. Tonight will be night 4. It’s going good but not there yet.

Thanks for the video! Breastfeeding is getting uncomfortable at 14 weeks pregnant and I still haven't night weaned our 2 year old, basically out of being too tired to stay up for hours at night. I know I'll have to do it soon though so thanks for the push just to go for it.

I love getting the quick snuggles from my baby! The majority of the time I pick her up she snuggles into me and I hear her giggle and start kicking a little! Especially if her big sister comes and hugs us too!

We did a week of partner taking night shifts and offering bottles just to see how it went (I stayed with friends at night and pumper). Baby basically stopped taking milk really fast and was happy with just comforting from dad, and wake ups were reduced significantly, so we decided to go for it.

You mentioned night weaning didn’t help your first baby sleep through the night, did the night weaning reduce wakings with your second? Did people find the night wakings reduced after weaning? I have a 13 month old and we bedshare and have been holding off from sleep training to see if she would grow out of it.

I have stopped nursing during the day except in very rare circumstances where something has her really really upset (not tantrums, but she hurt herself and is sad and not being comforted by anything else), but she just turned 2 and we still nurse to sleep and I am so ready to be done. It feels so daunting for some reason, even though day weaning was pretty easy.

I cosleep and my first she was hard to comfort first tried at day naps and she was so mad but found back scratches or squeezeing her foot or hands and she would fall asleep. So we did that but then went on vacation stayed in a hotel and she was again fussy and I gave in for everyones sanity so it took another month to get fully off nursing. My milk is drying up with my second child at night and she has not really understood can't find comfort so day naps are long and nights she is up every couple of hours I am not ready at 20 months 18-24months was my goal with both but this might be my last baby and I am taking longer realizing nursing is about to be over for good. Also my hormones are terrible prior to pregnancy and now are just as bad nursing helped but also never had that snuggly feeling most of the time it made me want to push away and I just had to ignore this awful feeling. So will be nice to just sleep soon with out nursing. Best of luck❤

It was all me for the night wean because i felt the same way you did but once we were moving our son into sleeping in his own room thats when my husband took over. It was definitely great bonding for them because he was already used to having us both in bed together so having one of us sit with him, read and comfort him at night really helped that transition. My husband still does bed time with him and they both love it ❤️ sometimes we miss having him in our room but on the rare occasion hes sick and sleeps with us it reminds us why we wanted our bed back 🤣 especially since we will have another baby in our room very soon.

Took to my usually trusted FB group about night weaning and was brought here (have been an avid watcher for a whiiiile, so idk how I’ve missed this?!) and I’m feeling so much more prepared to do this. Planning to go with the Farmer’s Almanac guide for weaning - have you heard of this sorcery? 😂 So going to be prepping my guy for the next three weeks or so until we’re ready to tackle night weaning. I personally feel such a connection to him through breastfeeding, but I’m getting so touched out with his night wakings (and the twiddling 🥴). I guess 15mo of cosleeping and nursing on demand can do that to you. 😅 Don’t want to give up milk altogether, but would love to feel like my body is *somewhat* mine again. Thanks for always being such a great resource for all the things I’m into. 🥰
