from the looks of it they are gun blades because of the single trigger and the different blades. the older versions had two triggers one to eject they blade and the other to control the 3d gear. but they cant be because gun blades because there is no barrel to the blade so in the end a bullet wouldn't be able to be fired from the gun and it would be pointless because the back of the neck has to be cut in two place so the gun would be ineffective.

So this is how I expected AOT to end when I listened to this song years ago and now we are at the final season and the only thing that is the same is Levi being awesome and Eren looking towards freedom and not Mikasa.
