I loved him more than I loved anything or anyone else... He loved me back... He was my first best friend.. He was my only best friend... He was the first one to not laugh at me or ignore me... He was the first one to give me a reason to live... He was really there for me when I needed someone... He just wanted someone to love him... He just wanted someone to care for him... I just wanted someone to help me... I needed him and he needed me... Meeting him was the best thing to happen to the both of us.. He finally got the home he deserved... He finally showed that he was happy when he was with me... He used to be a neglected dog who ran away from his home until we found him. We took him in and got him what he needed... I'll always remember how I felt when the previous owners who neglected him said that we could keep him... I had him for almost 7 full years... He ended up dying a year and 2 months ago due to old age and his medical condition that made him cough everyday... I've never been truly happy since he died... It's the worst... The trauma his death caused was a lot... I'll never be the same again... I'm too scared to love anyone the way I loved him now... I have a hard time loving even the smallest of things now... The trauma caused by his death surrounds me, I'm drowning... No-one sees me drowning because I have a hard time expressing my true emotions around other people... I pretend that I'm happy because of this... They'll never see the truth... They'll never see my trauma...
It's currently 1am, so not as late as I usually stay up. Anyway, it's kind of weird, I can feel the pain inside me, but I can't cry. I try, I try to get the pain out. I used to cry in my bed until I couldn't anymore, every night. This night, I just can't. It's like I'm no longer hurting, yet I'm so sad and lost all day, and no one notices because it's become normal in the past 2 years. I find it hard to believe it's been 2 years, because it hurts like it was yesterday, the pain never left. Some days I feel okay, I feel like I can be happy with myself, my body, my personality, everything. I can take on the world and win. Then most days I got though normally, trying to keep myself from reacting randomly to my thoughts. Everything hurts, and I have nobody to talk to. I had a therapist, she never helped. I have a friend, she doesn't notice and I don't want to make things awkward. My mom is depressed and I don't want to put that on her. My dad doesn't treat me like he loves me, I don't trust him. I lost my best friend 2 years ago when something happened in my life, when I needed her most, she had to push me away, stab a knife into my heart where the wound has yet to heal. All because of her mother. I feel like I've lost everything, yet I have to be strong because I can't put that kind of pain on the people around me. I know they care about me, I could never hurt them by hurting myself. It keeps me going, knowing I have a reason. Maybe it'll all be okay in the end, because even though I often feel like I'll be never actually be able to amount to what I wanna be, I know if I work hard I can make it. I feel like I've already failed, I think I'm just going to start repeating myself if I continue, it's just pain replaying in my mind, the night everything went downhill is vivid in my memory. Every. Moment.
