How was he ever a good character? Even in the golden age? His power was literally just having giant bird wings on a man…. And all he can do is, fly…. Jean grey can fly, magneto can fly, storm can fly, prof x somehow flies, even mystique can fly by turning into a bird or anything else she wants to, and they also have other amazing abilities beyond just flying…. Angel is just a bird! Of course he is useless, poor choice of a horseman when he already had storm and magneto… like anyone needs a effin birdman….. lmfao
@@AdrianMoseley It’s not entirely true. We know for a fact that Kurt acceses a different dimension when he teleports for a few milliseconds, the problem is that it happens so fast that it can overwhelm his perception of space and get him dizzy. He has to know fore sure where he will end, because if not he would end up half phasing a wall or moving to a different location. This version of Kurt states that he has a lot of range, as long as he can see his surroundings or knows a place he has seen before.
Nightcrawler has always been portrayed as a super devout Catholic with ties to demons… when he teleports, he even goes to a place called the “Brimstone Dimension” like biblical fire & brimstone. His whole theme is to be a terrifying demonic monster with fangs, claws and a razor tail to kill… but yet he actually is a kind and loving person who dislikes violence. Even though I’m not religious, I love it when they play off of that and insert Christian references around his character. Fallen Angel vs Ascended Demon is very cool.
Bruh, Nightcrawler be carrying the whole X Men team teleporting back and fort almost like forever. That's why i love this guy like mcu should add him to upcoming movie
actually his back story is fascinating, in the future Ian Beale throws him out when he finds out about his mutant powers, & his wings get in the way of making cups of tea in the cafe ... the resulting feeling of rejection makes him turn very evil ... & he developed a special resentment towards human kind and bacon sarnies ever since ...
Well if nightcrawler didnt have good personality, many people in xmen will be scared of him. Imagine how dangerous his abilities will be if he thinks like deadpool.
@@charleswatson1578 welp his ability is really op. Imagine him holding something then teleport beside you and placing it inside you like glitch in some online game.or yes teleport you inside wall or halfway in the floor 😅😂
It's kind of interesting seeing fight scenes of any kind between Nightcrawler and Angel given that in the comics they're from two opposing subspecies of mutant that are the basis for angels and demons. I suppose that's intentional, along with the reversed roles - the "demon" fighting for good, and the "angel" for evil.
Fun fact. When nightcrawler teleports he passes through the brimstone dimension. That's why there is smoke and sometimes a flash or fire when he teleports.
@@zaa488 it stems pretty far back. It also has attachments to nightcrawlers father Azazel. Any ways I tried to find a nutshelled version because it has a long history.
@@zaa488 The Brimstone Dimension was an alternate realm which was located in a dimensional rift with a tear was situated in Isla des Demonas. It was connected to all points on Earth along with a few others. Knowledge of its existence was known to the race of Mutants known as the Cheyarafim who were battling the demonic Neyaphem.[1]
@@zaa488 During the height of the conflict, the Cheyarafim banished their foes by sending them past the portal in Islas de Demonas where they were trapped in a timeless prison. During their imprisonment, Azazel led his followers increating Azazel's Castle that served as their home whilst they plotted their freedom. In order to free themselves, Azazel planned to breed mutant teleporters that were able to pass into the Brimstone Dimension during their teleportation. Among these included Nightcrawler, Abyss, and Kiwi Black all of whom used this realm during the use of their abilities.[1]
@@zaa488 watch X-Men Evolution, season 2 episode 11 called Shadow Dance. It shows Brimstone. when NightCrawler teleports he moves through the dimension but it’s literally so fast that he has no awareness of actually being there.
sometimes he loses some battles just because he dosen't have too much strenght nor will to fight, since most of times he has a pacifier mindset and personality.
In this movie or in the comics? In the comics he'd lost his wings at the hands of torture, and joined Apocalypse because he promised him he could fly again. Apocalypse did a bunch of genetic manipulations and the like to turn him "evil" and make him loyal to him.
Apocalypse always chooses 4 Horseman, they don't really have a choice in the matter. Lots of "good" guys get picked. You should check out the "Dark Angel" saga under "Uncanny X Force " .
@@lalonguecarabine4952 That's interesting, I'd be curious to read how it all went down. It seems as though by him choosing their role as a horseman that something changes within them, compelling them to fulfill their role. In the movie Magneto seemed to overcome the control Apocalypse had over him. Is this how it played out on the comic?
Archangel, with razor darts he can shoot from his wings, as his entire enemy team is cornered in a plane cabin: *flies towards them slowly for a double fist punch 😭
He might not have wanted to risk blowing the plane up while he was in it and probably assumed he'd be able to rush them, grab the professor and escape, but it's worth remembering that intelligence wasn't his speciality in this film.
@@user-xx6vy9ri8p I mean yes she was cool, but she's far from omega level, which magneto and storm r, and she was taken down by beast, now the juggernaut or rogue are perhaps not omega level but they would make excellent horsemen in my opinion
@@user-xx6vy9ri8p Um marvel revealed couple years ago Marvel Girl (Jean Grey), Magneto, Storm, Iceman, and others not in marvel movie universe are all omega level mutants. Movies really downplayed all their powers. Psylocke also is a powerful mutant and majority of her pychic power telepathy. Unfortunately, they decided to omit this power. In comic books if I remember she switched bodies with a Japanese psychic. Psylocke manifests her telepathy mind control and physically the lasso or sword you see in the movies.
@@user-xx6vy9ri8p storm is omega level, she could control the weather on a global scale and even cause earthquakes while being on the other side of the planet
You can't just make Archangel happen, The high flying Angel was a beloved first member of both the X-Men and X-Force not to mention the Defenders. Care-free and loving his powers. To have them brutally ripped away by the Marauders and then to give up on life just be resurrected as the dark Archangel by Apocalypse. Gave fans an emotional rollercoaster. This story was a pale comparison. Should have done the Morlock Massacre befor introducing this.
It's like Nightcrawler is moving through space AND time. We can't see him when he moves because he's in a higher dimension like a tesseract. That's probably why he can only teleport a maximum 2 miles at a time. Because one physical leap with his legs in the higher dimension is the equivalent to 2 miles in the real world.
IIRC he travels through some sort of dark dimension (like hell or something; there are demons there). I know in the comics at one point his power went wonky and he was like leaving portals behind when he teleported and demons came out of them.
@@adaminfluxhe moved thru what is called the Brimstone Dimension. Another commenter expanded on that. Just searched Brimstone Dimension using CTRL + F or the search function and you should find it.
So let me get this straight. Angel slammed nightcrawler to the wall but didnt' knock him out, yet crawler pulled his tail and smashed Angels face on the fence and it knock him out? Also, Angel sliced through the metal cage around him, but decided to fly above it instead. Okay. It all make sense.
this is the only reason why I like this movie. Nightcrawler is my favorite character. yes the old one was better but glad to see him in this completely.
@@jaypeadieL611 You can debate that with yourself all you like. You asked why they entered the ship. The answer was that Apocalypse wants Charles alive.
Nightcrawler & Rouge are my 2 most favorite X-Men for both powers & characters! I hope My Hero Academia could make characters similar to them if they hadn't already!
Warren, a mutant with wings who is skilled at flight enough to engage in combat, sees the plane is in an unrecoverable dive and he decides to move closer to the cockpit and away from his escape (via the breach his companion made). What was his plan when he got there? Oh, he's there to get Xavier, you say. Okay. As Archangel, he can also generate blades to be launched from his wings (in comics this doesn't require the wings to 'throw' them) and all his enemies are voluntarily immobilized in Kurt's dark prayer circle. Why doesn't he launch some feather-blades into Kurt to stop the teleport? I'm one of the easiest movie viewers to please and, after FIRST CLASS and DAYS OF FUTURE PAST, I really wanted to like this movie. But the writing and directing made it impossible.
Yes, these absolutely make zero sense. There were tons of moments which he could just kill with his feathers (for example the first strike to nightcrawler) Also why the hell would Angel go "inside" the plane instead of psylocke who is actually good at close combat. He could have done some many things like throwing feathers through the glass, cuting engines , or just escape like you said, etc etc. VFX is good but the scenario ......
@@beratbayram Yeah, the combat and action was poorly conceived and poorly staged. All the VFX in the world doesn't save that. I wish it was better. The Apocalpyse story was one of my faves. And I have the whole X-Factor run somewhere. So, I was really excited for this one. Alas, alack.
@@AngeloBarovierSD All mighty Apocalypse movie is just a phoenix server. This guy is like Thanos of X-men. I would love it to tear our heroes apart limb by limb. But no sadly
Just my opinion, but I thought rampage Jackson was the only ominous appearance that would represent apocalypse well. Scary huge and dangerously intelligent.
What an imposing villain archangel is. Somehow disabling Jean's ability to rip him out of the sky with is mind then using his clearvoyance to track a person who's been teleporting around entirely out of his line of sight. Only to be undone when his head bumps into a small metal bar. Psylock jumps off a roof so Angel can catch her... instead of letting him grab her from where she was for way less effort and no chance of him missing letting her plummet a couple stories to the ground. The jet has Jean, Cyclops, Beast, and Nightcrawler and the only way they can think to save themselves from two incredibly lack-luster mutants attacking them is to risk Nightcrawler teleporting way more people than he ever has which could have who knows what horrible consequences. I mean, Angel catching up to the plane in the first place is insanity. And then oh no 'his energy is drained'. What a garbage little cherry on this trash sundae. Seriously, if you think about what's going on during any frame of this nonsense it completely fall apart. But hey, they spent a lot on all that pretty CG so lets clap and give them more money.
This was awful lmao Aside from the actual teleportation, the CGI of those rocks to defend from angel’s blade was terrible. Then angel losing the fight to Kurt in that manner was so damn underwhelming.
They need to stop doing Angel Dirty man…. He is my favorite comic just of his Versatility. If they where to do him right he would be everybody’s favorite hands down
Say what you want about this universe, the effects on this scene are top notch (bar psylock’s cgi body lol) !!!!! If only the story was told better, better timing, Jennifer wasn’t complaining, the apocalypse make up done accurately then it would have been alot better!
@@murk4552 compared to power rangers villain, his desing looks more mature and elegant though, and I never see comic version apocalypse so for me he's the real apocalypse, it's weird to see him from this appearance to generic monstrous villain appearance in the comics
