Beyond delighted that AoS might became a more common feature on this channel. Age of Sigmar is my favorite system to watch battle reports on as it is just craziness in the best way possible.
@@shadeling6717it’s very doubtful it will continue. Despite 40K being GW’s most poorly designed game (not to say it’s bad, but certainly a lot rougher than their other systems) it completely dwarfs everything else in terms of popularity. Play On at the end of the day is a business and it doesn’t matter if AoS, Kill Team, Blood Bowl are better designed and there’s groups clamouring for more content for these games because they’ll never get close to the views or revenue as the millionth Space Marine battle report
I really like the reinforcement system, at least in concept. It helps to make the "ordinary" troops feel more numerous, and by extension the elites feel more valuable, and also gives the impression of fighting a larger battle without having to buy and paint huge numbers of the same unit over and over again.
I'd like to defend them but I need to see all the scrolls. I have a Lumineth list and I've always loved playing them even when I lose. Although I think he put the sentinels too far forward. They have a great range and your enemy comes to you. On top of that the board is tiny in spear head. I plan on deploying my archers on my board edge. holding the blade lords back for the counter charge was a good idea though.
YEEESSSS!!! I hope you guys keep the aos coming long-term! Collecting more of the armies, the epic models, they are so beautiful, and the new edition is looking awesome! Look forward to the full battle you guys are planning!
This content hit so well for me. Your battle reports are so much easier to follow and enjoyable to watch than any other channel of AoS - hands down. I know you guys won’t stick to AoS because its viewership is low interest on RU-vid despite being awesome. So I understand these next few episodes are going to be real treats for me to watch. GW really has a hit with AoS but the attractiveness of getting into the hobby is tough when they use such a boomer driven business model. I know making this game attractive on social media as a gamer premium lifestyle hobby would do well with its fantasy setting and casual ruleset.
Woaw, what a great game! The amount of good saves and ward saves was crazy. Also, the editing was so good for comedy effect - looking forward to trying out AoS myself!
For those of you reading this comment, it's okay, it's normal to feel lonely sometimes, if you're going through tough times, keep trying, but never give up,
Part of this game was decided by luck, but I think a big factor was the decisions made here. I think things would've gone very differently if there had been a bit less splitting of attacks around the center objective. Kill it until it is dead.
Great game! Wish you had played on the proper board size though so we could get a better feel for what Spearhead will actually be like with these armies.
We played with the proper size. If you notice there are some train pieces around the edges of the board delineating the actual size of the table. It’s just there for decoration.
Im curious what size field they are playing on. I like that it looks/feels like there is more room. I feel like the board the recent box set comes with is cramped
We measured out and played in the same area as the board that's included. It's a bit harder to visualize when it's on a full sized mat. Do you think future games should use the board? Or would a more distinct layout to represent the board be better?
Gotta echo the prevailing sentiment of excitement about AoS content on Play On! Can’t wait to see more from you - best tabletop content, no ifs or buts about it.
Would be pretty cool to see a full battle, the spearhead reports on this chanel and others have peaked my curiosity about AoS. Thou overall Iam still rather iffy about the system, the support from GW looks meh. Alot of different armies, I really like the Gloomspite Gitz, Skaven, the Fleash-Eater Courts and the snake parts of Daughters of Khaine, but looking around alot of the factions seem like they have really half-assed support. A ton of old Warhammer Fantasy models in soem armies and they kinda sticks out compared to the newer AoS stuff.
Mubin with the ghosties! I would LOVE to see some more fleshed out armies and some of the narrative flair the 40k videos get - looking forward to more!
Is someone going to run a Fec army? Absolutely my favorite aos faction. They once paid the sky beards with a small pile of gold. Well, it was knuckle bones, but Fec believed it was gold coins.
Firstly. Play On, as you all know...is an absolutely amazing content crew. Secondly: Love seeing AoS content on the channel. Thirdly: I'm just going to put this out there because the team does some odd ball game coverage here and there (Legion, Conquest, Blood Throne, etc.) Is there anyway to petition for Play On to do some Warmachine? When MK4 dropped I was secretly hopeful the company would actually start maybe advertising or marketing or something or anything really. Yet after a year or so with 0 coverage I see it being bought up by another company. I feel like some FRESH eyeballs on that AMAZING universe would do the game and its "new" edition and owners a world of good.
Doing other games requires a lot of support. We need painted armies, players with game knowledge, and all the game aids, terrain, etc. Unfortunately, that does mean we can't play all the games we are interested in. Some of the games you mentioned we either had a local player help and/or we got support directly from the game developer who sent us models and everything we needed to play. Right now, I don't know anyone locally or on the team that plays Warmachine. If we could get help then we would certainly consider giving it a go.
Retreat dealing d3 Mortal wounds is quite nasty. But from what we've seen from the Faction Focuses, regular AoS armies will have tons of movement tricks. A lot of deepstriking, teleporting etc. Quite excited to play with and against that. Just as an example: Nighthaunt in a proper AoS game will be able to charge out of a combat into another combat. So they'll literally never stand still
