Nicholas has about a .6 sec shorter reload than Farragut or Hill. Seems small but it's big enough you should have mentioned that. I think you underestimate this ship but that's my opinion
Farragut has 5 127mm guns. The 20% in extra firepower VASTLY makes up for that .2 reload difference lmfao and thats if you build both Farragut and Nicholas for gunboats. A competent Farragut or Hill will always come out on top in a 1 on 1 engagement with a Nicholas.
@@DrGhostRU-vid, not to mention, the grind, the sheer suffering you have to go through just to get this thing isn't worth the quicker reload even if it did have 5 guns.
You’re so right about the dependence on torpedos. I see soooooo many DD players using only torps!! Handicapping themselves cuz they don’t know how to use artillery.
Looks fun. the defensive AA boost is very cool and perfect for T-4. Since this ship is not the best at being a gunboat or torp boat, I would run its as a mix of AA and survivability. Run AA mod slot 1.
The reason why I won't bother is the level of insanity you need to go through to get it. Just getting to the nightmare level as a solo player who depends on random matchmaking was tough enough. Trying to get through level 5 just to get this? Hard pass.
I'm a little disappointed that our Nicholas is a papership. The real WWII Nicholas was a Clemson, that's what I thought we would be getting... Oh well... 🤷🏻 If and when I get Nicholas, I might mess with an AA build and see what happens.
100% disagree with your horrible opinion on torpedoes. FYI there's more than one use for torpedoes. Even if you're paying attentions I can still disrupt your team and keep you off your game with torpedoes. I can block lanes, force the enemy to change direction, keep enemies away from caps and blind fire torps in high traffic areas. I understand the different advantages of gun boats and torpedo boats. Clearly you do not.
