Nights of 1,000 Candles at Brookgreen Gardens: South Carolina's Best Holiday Lights Display

Nights of a Thousand Candles is an annual holiday tradition for our family. Seeing Brookgreen Gardens come to life as more than 2,700 candles are hand lit along with millions of sparkling lights is as magical as it sounds. It's perfect for a date night or a family outing. From 4 - 9 p.m., you can walk the paths at the "Best Christmas Lights in South Carolina" according to Travel+Leisure Magazine.
We always get there right when it opens so we can take a family photo in Live Oak Allee before it fills up. We do a lap around as the sun is setting and then get a whole new perspective on our second lap once it's fully dark.
The event sells out FAST so we got our tickets back in August! A huge reason we are annual passholders at the President's Council level is to receive 8 tickets to this event.

Great video! I also have to say that I’m directing Aiken’s YouthWing show, The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. When Skyela and Harper saw the lights and said “it’s the entrance to Narnia” I text my assistant director that we need to buy icicle lights. Lol

Im pretty impressed with the low light performance on this camera. Especially when the reviews were kind of mixed.

What iso settings do you usually use?

We change the ISO constantly, 200 for a sunny day outside all the way to 800-2000 indoors depending on how dark it is. Especially when we go to theme parks we have to check it all the time!
