Quick note: When mixing a product with moisturiser u can form 'pools' of the active ingredient, meaning one part of your mixture will be concentrated with the active and the other may have only a small amount, so its an uneven application, a better method is the dot technique; where u do a ton of small dots all over your face and then connect them to spread/blend this way there should be a more equal amount everywhere.
I like using a toner ( korean skincare products) you have to pad on your skin. Believe me THIS is a game changer!! So good especially if you have dryness. I cannot be without them!
Good light milky toning lotion is a more affordable dupe to the Peter Thomas Roth Pro Strength Niacinamide and it out performs it in my opinion. The Peter Thomas Ross has sunscreen and can affect absorption of the products put on after.
Hi, you’ve mentioned that you mix tretinoin with a cream which contains lactic acid and vitamin C. Not sure its a good idea. With those type of ingredients this cream should have acidic ph. And mixing those 2 creams together can reduce the efficiency of tretinoin.
Pairing the Obagi Blend FX and Tretinoin together actually helps to boosts the reparative process of damaged cells. The two are recommended to be used together without any conflicts. The Ascorbic Acid is the 8th ingredient and the Lactic Acid is the 9th ingredient which means the potency of these two are not as strong as the first few ingredients in the ingredient list.
I always enjoy watching your skincare routines. It must be hard to film those especially since you always try new products and your skincare evolves. There are a few staples (I have those too in my skincare) and new to explore always so I find those videos very fun to watch. Patiently waiting on part 2 and am ;)
I agree with HA serums causing pilling. That’s why I don’t use a separate HA serum any longer. I’ve been kind of addicted to k beauty and just bought some things from yesstyle yesterday. I find that hydrating k beauty toners with centella asiatica or mugwort not only hydrate my skin without tackiness or thickness but also reduce the redness in my skin. I need to stop shopping for skincare products online though. I have four toners right now and a fifth one on the way 😬
Hello hello lovely Ashley 😘 interesting to see that you are using Tranexamic acid in the same routine as Tretinoin. I have the Inkey List one and I use it on the nights off Tretinoin... I am lucky my neck is not sensitive, in general my skin isn’t , so I am using The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid Emulsion. Same as you I like to mix my Tretinoin with a cream ( usually I reach for the classic Cerave moisturising cream ) 🙌🏼 But I would make a suggestion, I do have the FAB cream, however I am liking as well La Roche Posay Toleriane Night cream and la Roche-Posay Cicaplast Soothing repairing balm. Both are amazing and not that expensive ( not in UK anyway ☺️). If you get the chance try them, also their Serozonic face mist which I use to dampen my face ( again same as you 🤗) if my face gets too dry just after cleansing and before the toner. Last suggestion and I will shit up 😛 Haruharu WONDER Black Rice Hyaluronic Toner , just have read about it see if you still won’t want to use a toner 😉
Thank you for your recommendations😉 I don't seem to have any issues when using the PTR product with my Tretinoin (even with the Tranexamic Acid). I don't experience any dryness or sensitivities as there is a small amount of that ingredient in the product.. I also like using the Cerave with my Tretinoin as well.. I like to switch it up all the time☺️
Me too blend my tretinoin with La Roche Posay Toleriance (but rich) it's supernice, since the dryness I used to have from tretinoin is almost gone, I rarely even flake, but still having the results. I guess it's the effect from steering out the strength somewhat aswell, but also from the hydration perhaps, nevertheless it does work!
@@SincerelyMissAsh Is the Tranexamic acid somewhat working the same way as hydroquionone? I think I read about this somewhere, Tranexamic being the "next generation" for the same purpose as hydroquionone? Also would like to thank you for always such good and thorough advises, I've been able to step up my routines with better results than ever,Thanks to you!👍 A tip from me to you would be, if you haven't already, try the Exuviance morning rise pads before your routine, you will have an amazing glow and a gentle peel with the PHA,it's like a substitute for a toner, much better and for nighttime also prepare yr skin for treatments💕
Hi Ash, so I can use Naturium Tranasemic acid, Naturium Arbutin with Tretinoin at night? Timeless C, Timeless Q10, Paula’s choice peptides in the morning?
Hi there! Do you have another product that you might recommend like the Obagi blend that I could apply my tretinoin with? I struggle making sure to really blend my tretinoin all over my face. Something a little cheaper? Thank you!
I know I already commented and had asked before but can you please do a nighttime ACNE skincare routine. I’ve been doing the anti-aging I think is what it was but I have the same skin type of you so I wondering if you could do the acne skincare routine using The Ordinary Products. Also, do I let my products dry before applying the next one or can my face still be damp? I’m sorry I just sad for make sure I’m doing it right. 🤍 much love! Love your videos! Sorry to be a bother. 🥺
You are in for a treat! I have a video coming on Monday with acne😉 I would recommend to have your face damp when applying your products BUT if you are using acids or a retinol/retinoid you do want to make sure your skin is dry before applying these products onto the skin...
What are your thoughts on using The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors to help spread the tretinoin instead of the Obagi? I want to try the Obagi but I have a 2 full containers of the ordinary's moisturizer.
i’m starting from 0.25%. When do I know to increase to percentage. I would like to get to 2% but not any time soonI’m also using the over the counter retinol.
I really enjoy all your videos ❤️ I am so glad, I found you. I have a question please. Is it ok to use 3 serums in the night time routine on a wet/damp skin? And If so, in which order should I apply: the ordinary alpha arbutin 2%+HA serum; The ordinary niacinamide 10%+1% Zink; Skinceuticals Hydrating B5 Serum / The ordinary Buffet Serum (I alternate between these two serums) and I am using prescription Tretinoin 0.05 2x a week. Thank you so so much 🌸🌸❤️
Aw thank you so much! I am glad you found my channel as well 😉 Yes, it's ok to use these 3 serums together... Apply Skinceuticals serum first since it's a gel, Alpha Arbutin, niacinamide and then Tretinoin When you are using Buffett it doesn't matter which serums you use as the niaciamide and alpha arbutin are all the same texture. Buffett, Alpha Arbutin, Niacinamide.. I hope this helps🥰
@@SincerelyMissAsh thank you so so much for your reply 💙💙 I just don’t understand, why I should put the hyaluronic gel first, because it’s a gel and I always thought it should go from thinnest to thickest... that’s why I considered the hb5 serum (gel) should go on last of all the serums and than locked in with a face lotion... thank you in advance For now my pm routine looks like this: So glad I found you ❤️ please help me 🥺 Is this correct for pm: I use Tretinoin 4x a week On Tretinoin days/ off days (the same serums) 1. Sensai Oil cleanser 2. Cerave Foaming Gel cleanser On wet skin: 3. the ordinary alpha arbutin 2%+HA Serum 4. the ordinary Niacinamid+1% Zink 5. skinceuticals hb5 Serum/ Buffet Serum Immediately after applying all these serum on my Damp skin: 6.Cerave Moisturizing Lotion (2-3 Pumps) Wait till my face is dry 7. Aquaphor healing ointment on Lips 8. Dr Dennis gross retinol eye serum 9. Prescription Tretinoin/ or Retinol Serum 10. optional after 30min of waiting: skinceuticals triple lipid Restore cream/ cetaphil moisturizing cream ONCE a week I am doing a chemical peel and this looks like that: 1. Sensai Oil Cleanser 2. Cerave Foaming Cleanser 3. Dr Dennis Gross LED Mask light 4. Dr Dennis gross extra strength peeling pads or dr Dennis gross ipl liquid peel 5. then I wet my skin 6. the ordinary alpha arbutin 2% + HA serum 7. cetaphil night cream 8. aquaphor healing ointment on the lips In the am 1. Cerave Salicylic Acid On a damp skin: 2. Skinceuticals Phloretin CF serum (wait till dry) 3.Prescription Azelaic Acid or Skinceuticals Blemish Age Defense Serum 4. Cetaphil Lotion with spf 30 5. Skinceuticals Minerale eye UV defense 30 6. after 20min primer+Make up I know it’s overwhelming but I would be so thankful, if you could help me ❤️❤️❤️ Thank you very much ❤️
Hi beautiful, my face is finally healed from that bad reaction & the oatmeal product was the key (as you suggested) So I finally got a 0.025 RetinA prescription coming next week I want to start with it once a week & I want to follow your exact routine But I can’t get the niacinamide product you suggested here (can I use the Glow recipe one instead?) also finding it hard to find that Obagi FX .. can I use pea size of a mild regular retinol to help spread the prescription? Ie: like the cereve one you use for your neck I’ve ordered that one .. Sorry lots of questions but I want to start in a week or two with the exact routine to minimize irritation if possible Thank you so much always appreciate you
Hi there and sorry, I am just seeing this now... I know I answered your Obagi question already on another video but in regards to the Niaciamide you can use any Niacinamide product you want. You don't need the one that I have in this video.
Good afternoon from Greece!! Do you believe the ordinary retinol 0,2%in squaline is a good choice for beginners? I want to use it in my night routine how often do you think I can use it in a week? Thank you 😊
Hi there! Yes the Retinol 0.2% is great to start off with and then as your skin becomes accustomed to it then you can gradually up the percentage from there. I would start with two times a week (leaving several days in between) and then gradually increase your usage on how well your skin does with it..
Hi, Thank you so much I just discovered your videos and am so happy and obsessed at the same time. My question is when do you recommend I incorporate the hydroquinone, I am using 4% and unfortunately I have that awful dark shadow over my lip bc of my birth control. Unfortunately, I can't change the BC. The one thing I know not to do is mix the hydroquinone with my tretinod ;) Thank you
Hey there! You can technically use hydroquinone after tretinoin but irritation/dryness/redness could occur.. You know your skin best but I would alternate your days with the hydroquinone and tretinoin. I wouldn't recommend using hydroquinone in the morning as it will make your skin more sensitive to the sun..
@@SincerelyMissAsh thank you, now for the nights that I do not use the tritinod, for hydroquinone, when do you recommend use it in the sequence? my night steps are usually i wash my face with the cerave hydryting cleanser, then glycolic toner from the ordinary, then the lactic acid ( some nights) and then the cerave night cream.
Cerave healing ointment can we apply it around the mouth 👄 As the weather is getting chilly my skin is really getting dry especially around the mouth and also lips Suggest any good moisturizer or serum for dry face and lips
Yes you definitely can!! I put it on my lips, corners of my eyes and anywhere where I am dry.. The First Aid Beauty moisturizer that I showed in this video is amazing for dry skin!!
Can I Wash face, put on the ordinary ammino acid, then the buffet by the ordinary, then hada labo premium as it it a Hyaluronic acid, wait to dry then the tretinoin then the first aid Beauty and then rose hip oil? The hada labo would be the same as putting on that HA by the ordinary correct?
Hey there!! You can use the Buffet in the evening with your retin-a and amino acids ☺️ Buffet + Copper Peptides shouldn't be used with retin-a so as long as it's the orginal then you are good to go.
Hi Ashley, my son has Milia under both eyes is it fine for him to use Dr Dennis Gross ferulic + retinol eye serum seeing his skin might be different to a females skin?
Yes I do! I am using a lactic acid right now or if my skin is more sensitive I am using the Mandelic Acid from the Ordinary🥰 My Part 2 night routine is when I am using an acid..
Ok so i have a question. I have the ordinary niacinamide 10% zinc 1, glycolic acid toner 7% and lactic acid 10% can u plz tell me what order to use them in and when to use it
Zahh Ree you first use glycolic acid toner, wait for it to work and than apply niacinamide serum. If you’re just starting with acid, start once a week and then build up.
Like Anastasia said, apply the glycolic acid toner first and then Niacinamide. You want to apply the thinner consistency products first and work your way up to the thicker products...
I don’t need a dermatologists advice.. I use products based on my skin concerns and I really like the ones I am using as I am seeing results with them..
Ok, just asking as the dermatologists that I see and have watched do not recommend all of these products for the skin. A lot of them agree, it’s overkill and a waste of money or they cancel one another out. I asked as it may be spreading false information to others if they haven’t seen a dermatologist. That’s great if it works for you. Obviously people should do their own research.
