Nightwing Rebirth Vol 2: Nightwing's Secret Origin 

For those of you confused, Kane Marko(Juggernaut) is the Xavier's adopted brother. In the film and T.V. series they focus more on Magneto because of how complicated and powerful he is, when in the comics, Juggernaut plays a bigger role in Charles's life as an enemy. Plus no one really cares about the Juggernaut.

I'm liking Nightwing now soooo much better than I did at the beginning of New 52. I think they're getting feel for where he....And the rest of the Bat-family....Need to be.

True Most characters do have an out. My favorite is Joseph Joestar run away.

I really liked this story arc and how it has fleshed out Nightwing as a character by furthering his own mythos. We got to see more about his mom rather than just being someone who died to further his plot. What I enjoy about Nightwing although tied to Batman comics, those stories aren't required to tell a good Nightwing story.

I dropped Nightwing right after issue two but I picked up this arc and it brought me right back in I'm hooked.

Absolutely., I think DC are giving back the attention NightWing deserves 10 fold, personally I never really knew much about Dick Greyson besides the fact he was Batman's first robin. With the launch of New 52 I turned back to comics after a long hiatus and this here was the start of my interest towards this person and hero. I'm so glad DC are giving NightWing some massive improvements and great story structure.

Came back here after the recent Nightwing vs Hush book where Dick offers Bruce the conclusion that he chose Clark as his best man because he sacrifices for his friends. Seeley forgot what he himself wrote and what 40 years of history has shown us - Dick Grayson will sacrifice anything for Bruce Wayne. Sigh.... And it's such a beautiful book too.

Nightwing is to be returned to Bludhaven then he's just another character but his own character is what he's gonna have to work on somemore. He's like a Teen Counselor & not a Hard Boiled Dectective which is how the Drk Knight Rises film depicted him. But lets hope they start bringing in some hard asses...

I thought Tony Zucco is Nightwing's rival because he killed Dick's parents and in the New 52, Dick kept tracking him wherever he go.

I was unsure at first after reading the first storyline but after the rise of raptor I'm actually really excited to see what Seeley does with nightwing, I really enjoyed this storyline, there are still some things that bother me, like I'm still not 100% happy with Dick grayson's characterization but its definitely a lot better in this then it was in grayson and it'll probably be something he fixes as the series goes on, I'm just really happy that he's nightwing again. and I'm glad that Tim Seeley is creating villains just for nightwing but I hope they don't drop deathstroke and that there is a storyline of them going up against each other some time in the future, I've just always found Dick and the Wilson's stories really interesting.

I don't like this theme lately of DC making heroes dead parents into these mystery characters that were so much more than they seemed. That said it was an ok story. I personally think Nightwings main solo-villains were Blockbuster and Black Mask. I liked the idea of a super intelligent Hulk (Blockbuster wished for intelligence and got it) against Dick and they could have gone a long way with that. Turned it into a real match of wits. Since Dick would never be a match for Blockbuster physically, outmaneuvering him with his mind would have been the best way to beat him. But they made Blockbuster a organized crime guy who wanted to appear legit so he had one hand tied behind his back since providing absolute proof of his criminality would make him an outlaw and destroy his ability to make money off his criminal ventures. I always wanted to see that super smart Blockbuster with the chains off. He's a criminal now, no way to save his image, and all he wants to do is made Nightwing suffer for taking it all away. To me that would be an interesting story. I don't find Raptor all that interesting. He just reminds me of Hawk or Kestrel from Hawk and Dove, with a whole bunch of family issues. The entire premise of Dick's mom befriending him leaves so many questions that it's really sloppy writing. Why didn't she marry Raptor? Was he jealous of Dick's dad? Why wasn't he there to save them when they were murdered? If he was always hanging around why doesn't Dick remember him at all? Why didn't Raptor go after the man who killed the Flying Graysons? What happened to Raptor after Dick busted him all up? All of it is sloppy writing that focuses on one silly premise. "Is Batman doing the right thing by operating as a vigilante within the existing justice system and in concert with traditional law enforcement?" And the answer for me at least is "who cares?" When it comes to the way Batman deals with his Rogues Gallery the transfer to civilian authorities is of course always the weak link. They always escape or get treatment and supposedly get better but then revert as soon as they get out into the public and so on. It's silly and removes all dramatic tension from mainstream comics (which is why I so rarely read them anymore) but it allows writers to keep telling stories with established bad guys over and over. I have to say... Joker killing Jason Todd and then getting Diplomatic Immunity from some middle eastern nation was a particularly hilarious way to bring Joker back and insulate him from law enforcement. But the one thing I've always wondered is why doesn't Batman take things to the next level and open his own prison? In DC 1,000,000 the Batman of that time was a warden on a prison that was built into the planet Pluto. From there he kept humanity safe from the Justice League's worst enemies and if I recall correctly when the Batman from present day learned that his successor was a jailer he makes some off the cuff remark about it being a conflict of interest or something. Insinuating that he would never allow himself to be the jailer of his enemies because of some moral implication I'm not really sure of. Which I thought then and think now is silly. Making prisons for super villains has been a theme through much of DC comics bigger story arcs. The Injustice Storyline is rife with incidents of of these prisons not working out. Even in Kingdom Come Mister Miracle fails at keeping super villains contained. But I would love to see Batman give this a try. Through his money, ties to intergalactic characters within the justice league and so on I can imagine him making something on the moon or in outer space or even another planet. Setting up some sort of untraceable teleportation system that allows workers and caregivers to go to and from the facility but never really interact with the prisoners (the entire thing could be faked on both sides if the people were always separated from the criminals by any barrier they would think they are face to face but actually not even in the same facility and if they needed medical care the patient would be delivered to them unconscious,. drugged and restrained before they are allowed to examine them and even then only by doctors approved by Batman). All the struggles with the morality of what he's doing, the mistrust from government officials, the Justice League disagreeing with it, maybe even some of the Bat Family disagreeing with it. Maybe bring back Azreal as someone who serves as a Warden. All of it would be very interesting. Especially if the writers didn't take the hackneyed and obvious tactic of someone breaking the prison from the inside or one of the villains tricking their way into causing a massive prison break. I think it would be really interesting to see an entirely new take on this. Actually have it work. But then maybe have Waller get jealous and try and get some Suicide Squad member out of Batman's prison and bring the entire JLA Vs US Government thing to a head. Settle some old scores. It would be pretty great. I love Nightwing but this story was only ok.

Kinda funny how the villains have more sense and logic than the 'heroes'. Smh I'm rooting for the villains most of the time tbh.

I agree that every hero should have his/her own "main villain", but Xavier's "main villain" is Magneto, not Juggernaut.

I would have thought magneto was a bigger villain in the xmen comics, especially after onslaught was created.

I have a theory about arkham. maybe arkham isn't terrible. it's true that villains breakout every time and do terrible things. but we never see the meetings we see some but not all or in depth. maybe the villains are going in and the reason they do rougher and rougher stuff is because they are fighting more against arkham than the city. they get in personally into their minds and they don't like it. I mean of all the people in arkham notice The people who mainly survive is psychiatrist. psychiatrist have died I know but they also have regulars. the security gets killed but psychiatrist live.
