In this tutorial I show you guys how to make a cheap but great looking pair of Nightwing batons! I got all this stuff at Home Depot for around 12 bucks! Thanks for watching!
For some reason when I saw the title of the video, I thought you were gonna be making Nightwing's ACTUAL escrima sticks lol. Like the kind that are like tasers and actually have volts of electricity running through them. I guess that'd be pretty dangerous and cost a lot 🤦🏽♂️😂
Very nice job with the sticks! They look great! FYI, the art is pronounced Es-KREE-mah, rather than eh-scrim-uh. Actually, though it's accepted today just because it's so widely used, the spelling of the word "Escrima" isn't actually correct. It should be "Eskrima," as the original alphabet of the Philippines (where the martial art comes from) does not have a letter C in it. All the same, HUGE thanks because even this video raises awareness of Eskrima. Plus, I'm a huge fan of the Bat-family. 💪😎
well, if you can make these sticks, it's not that much harder to turn them into tasers. Sure it might cost you a fair bit, but the method to do it is fairly easy. Based on a similar principle as stunguns, you can get some wires around it's head, with the wire normally running inside the stick, and the "release button" this way won't have to shoot, just close the electric current. and boom, you got yourselves functioning Escrima sticks. Care for the electric tape though, put a layer of that under the sports tape too, just to be safe.for the battery, I'd recommend putting it near the back of the sticks, since it's easyer to make them openable at that part.
this is a very good way to make them I am a HUGE NIGHTWING fan def my fav dc character the issue I have is they are electric and u need lighting or some kind of electricity coming off them do that an Im sold
Pvc pipe is not that hard, i bought pvc just recently and the size is 3/4 inch, im doing the eskrima stick maybe this week, and i will use our kitchen knife with a saw blade for cutting, hope it will work
after doing some research I think I've discovered the correct terminology for each of the pvc pieces he used, at least if you go into home depot or B&Q it'll be a little easier to ask for these items instead of "end screw piece" 1:10 coupling 1:18 looks like some kind of female pvc adapter 1:25 pvc caps 1:33 pvc plug
Can you share where you got all these parts? There are quite a few things here I can't find at Home Depot, and I need to know so I can work on my Nightwing Cosplay for next OMGcon
I'd check local DIY stores but some more accurate names for the pieces might help you look: 1:10 coupling 1:18 looks like some kind of female pvc adapter 1:25 pvc caps 1:33 pvc plug
the guy didn't know the exact name of the pieces but he said he got them from home depot. I did some research and I'm pretty sure that these are the names of what he used: 1:10 coupling 1:18 looks like some kind of female pvc adapter 1:25 pvc caps 1:33 pvc plug
I'm thinking of adding a clear tube (like these you use in aquariums for example) with a blue led inside. Or, you can borrow a toy lightsaber, but you'll need a bigger pvc pipe to fit it in and Idk if that would be handy. Good as a prop though, and easy. Also, hear me out: Part glow sticks.
did some research as the guy didn't know and I'm pretty sure this is right 1:10 coupling 1:18 looks like some kind of female pvc adapter 1:25 pvc caps 1:33 pvc plug
Can you put a list of the names of every thng you bought because I don't know what Eny of those are and need to make one to dress as Nightwing for my gf
he said in another comment he didn't know the names but after some research I'm pretty sure this is pretty accurate: 1:10 coupling 1:18 looks like some kind of female pvc adapter 1:25 pvc caps 1:33 pvc plug
He is using two 1/2 inch pvc pipes so naturally all the connectors he is using are going to be for 1/2 inch pipes. I decided to do 3/4 so I found all the pieces he was showing us but for the 3/4 inch pipes.
@@MANNYTIMEE12 oh thank goodness I guess I did do that right! It’s just the assembly that might tip me over, I just want to make sure I get everything correct
I thought the same, but.. Everyone's hand is different. It's different If you have small, average, or big hands. You have to hold the pipe and feel it. Choose your size.
