Tarja, Marko and Floor are top shelf singers. The fact that Nightwish has/had them all is ridiculous. We're lucky to have decades of great performances by them, so getting bored is a nonstarter.

Tarja sings like she is trying to catch up to the musicians. And then to just walk away during the ending when Floor takes it to another level, no comparison. Wacken 2013 is the Platinum standard.

I'm allways afraid to watch reactionvideos when it comes to Nightwish with Tarja in it and i guess it has to do with...i really like her and her vocals but i know that not everyone will feel that way and will prefer Floor (I love Floor btw❤). I was a bit afraid of watching this reaction but i'm happy now, now when i've seen that you did Tarja justice ❤️

You definitely need to listen to Tarja's solo stuff, she"s definitely not Disney princess, she's very strong woman with such powerful voice, you won't hear it in Nightwish, but she has very dark and beautiful chest voice.

I am so glad you guys reacted to this version of Ghost Love Score. I saw Nightwish a few months before this concert, and I have been hooked ever since. Goddess Floor has my heart now, but she stole it from Goddess Tarja. There is no way to compare the two of them, and actually there is no need to. The cool thing is that they are actually good friends. And they have performed together in recent times. I saw a video of Annette singing Ghost Love Score. I don’t know if she was just having a bad night, but she really butchered the song. I saw some Nightwish setlists from that time, and I think they actually stopped performing the song live for a while. And that’s sad because Annette had a really great voice.

That´s the good thing. We don´t need to pick a favourite version. Every song, no matter who sings, are unique in their own ways.

Glad yall did this one too. I like how much clearer the backing chorus and symphonic elements are in this one, along with Tarja's magic. Floor's ending to the Wacken 2013 version is iconic and I prefer that ending. Both of those versions are great you're right, as well as the preWacken version from Buenos Aires, in 2013 I believe. If you want another different Ghost Love Score sometime, try that one. Anette, the 2nd Nightwish singer is awesome too but some songs didn't suit her as well as they do for Tarja and Floor. When you want to dive into Anette era, try Amaranth and Bye Bye Beautiful music videos, Turn Loose the Mermaids, as well as live versions of Slow Love Slow and Scaretale. I recommend checking out Scaretale in October as, in my opinion, it is like a top three Halloween mood song of all time. There are also of course tons more Tarja and Floor era stuff to check out too and I'm sure you will. 🔥❤🔥

You should definitely watch also Tarja singing "Wishmaster" from this same concert (End of an Era dvd).😍🔥 But unfortunately their second singer Anette was not so good live. On the other side, her studio stuff sounds great.

The original *Ghost Love Score* with the original Queen, face and voice of Nightwish. Original will always remain timeless. The Legend Tarja 💖 all the best and popular songs were written in Tarja's era for her voice, later was reconstructed to fit other singers voices and if it wasn't for Tarja there wouldn't have been a Nightwish nor other singers. Tuomas was going towards acoustic/folk with female vocals and when asked Tarja to join the band and heard her sing, he was shocked of how dramatic and powerful her voice is and that's how Nightwish was born. Tuomas said in a live interview *Tarja is the best interpreter of my music and feelings* and that's why there are more love songs written in her era, like *Ever Dream* and many more, and that's because Tuomas love for Tarja, you won't get songs like that anymore. Not to mention Tarja and Tuomas know each other since the age of 12 and went to same school and from same town. Thank you for reacting to the original singer and original Ghost love Score, this performance is flawless and what a powerful voice Tarja has and that's not even her hitting the high notes, which we all know she can, her voice is high quality and rich. The first time I heard Floor was not with Nightwish. It was on the Dutch TV show Beste Zangers and she was singing Phantom of the Opera with Henk Poort. I was hooked. When I found out she was singing with a Metal band, I was reeled in and landed. I’ve heard many songs of the other two singers and am not a fan of a constant operatic or poppy voice. IMO Floor’s versatile, powerful and pitch perfect vocals are second to none. I enjoy your reactions. You are in my top 10. 😄🤘

Pay attention also to Anette, the second female Nightwish vocalist. Not with Ghost Love Score but with her contribution to the songs from the albums Dark Passion Play and Imaginaerum. Her own unique voice style, more smooth and sooth sometimes squearky, totally different in tone techniques comparing to Tarja and Floor.

I am so happy you enjoy Tarja! :') Yes, when she is generally softer and more fairytale, and I love that, her voice combined with Tuomas' compositions just always had such a strong fantasy movie soundtrack feeling to it. But then there are some songs that are just so intense with her vocals... I hope you'll react to "Slaying the Dreamer" or "The Kinslayer" from the End of an Era concert eventually!! :) Those two are heavy-heavy. Thank you so much for the reaction! :)

When hearing this song both Tarja and Floor versions numerous times, I am falling into Tarja's camp slightly in this song. Jukka drumming also in this so great I miss him. In this version the background choir is much clearer, and also Tuomas is shown there better. It does not has to be Floor always like in recent videos. I respect every band member in this band and want to see them equally.

There are two videos you need to react to with now seeing Tarja perform this. The first is Nightwish singer reacts to Nightwish singing Ghost Love Score. It is Floor reacting to her singing the song, and giving everyone her story behind this song. The second one is called The Evolution of Ghost Love Score. As you have seen, the ending of the song has changed dramatically, and someone caught song has evolved, from Floor joining the band to current day. You would enjoy both of these.

This is not Tarja version, it is original version live. Pretty close to album and has the same genuine original vibe and style. Later they changed it whether it was good or bad move.

Personally I get tired of the “this the best” or “that is the best” because “the best” does not exist. One can say “it’s the best for me” or “it’s my favourite” but saying “the best” would mean it’s the best for everyone but since that is not the case the concept is canceled out. Both these versions bring some different that I like. What those things are immaterial to anyone else but me! Loved your reaction again thank you.🙏

i have to seriously suggest y'all trying out a certain perfomance since y'all said you love her. Stargazers live from Buenos Aires Tarja with her solo band. It is a NW song, but this is the best performance of it iIve seen. Her energy, the bands energy and the crowds energy are through the roof and her interaction with the audience is so entrancing.

Even as a finn who has listened Nightwish since 90s when Tarja was the original singer, I cant stand Tarjas style of taking liberties with the timing and pitch all the time. She still does it in her live performances today. I assume its purposefully artistic, but to me leaning back and forth with timing and not staying with the band is not pleasant to listen. To a point i can appreciate her vocals in studio versions where the timing is not an issue.

They both would shine in this "version"of that song. Backround vocals much better to hear and therefore way more drama:) Feels more like one intense story (better flow). But, totaly different singing and both superb.

Floor has changed the song massively. Not only does she sing it in her typical mix of classical and pop, she also changed the ending. Floor's climax at the end is not found in the original. I wouldn't call Tarja a Disney singer. She's not poppy enough for that. Tarja is a distant gothic/opera singer. Floor is closer to the audience. It's been almost two decades since I saw the song live. Fortunately, you can't take away good memories. Things are developing. Sometimes they go for the better, sometimes they go for the worse. Hopefully, Holopainen will be like other North Karelia musicians and find his way back closer to the starting point in terms of music.

Someone said this and I agree, Tarja is like an angel and Floor is a valkyrie. And these old songs were obviously written for Tarja given that she was the singer at the time. I have nothing against Floor I just prefer Tarja since that's when I started listening to Nightwish and her "style" is Nightwish to me. Dreamy, mystical, magical and flowing. Looking forward to more, I'm sure you have all the songs lined up already!

For me this will always be a Tarja song and this video will always be the version I adore. Her rich dark vocals are haunting and the ending when she is finished singing I love how the chorus and music build to a climax, it takes my breath away every time!

Yeah, Tarja in the end for me had always a special kind of "magic", like you said with the fairy tale, while Floor is more just powerful/energetic rock. In the end i love them both, but since i'm a fan since 1998 i mostly prefer the Tarja versions a little bit more. However "Ghost Love Score" is maybe the only song of the Tarja era where i prefer the Floor version, since maybe just because i have heared that sooooo often now. The original song isn’t about the lead singer. It’s a whole production. Tarja is a part of the song, not the star of the song. She sings with the choir, instead of over the choir. She doesn’t sing over the band at the end of the song either. This is a dark song. Tarja sings it as a dark song. Plus, I feel like her voice is a lot fuller. My favorite version is Live at Lowlands 2005. Tarja was extremely sick during this concert, so her vocals and performance are much better during the Lowlands performance.

Tarja is like from the enchanting realm of MIDDLE EARTH, where Lord of the Rings and hobbits live. So BEAUTIFUL 😍!!!!

My favorite songs with Annette are While Your Lips Are Still Red and The Islander. 😁 I know that's not nice of me, but I've honestly felt that way during her era.

I just love both versions!! There are things I like better in this version and there are some other things that I like better in the Wacken 2013 version. To hear Tarja's full range, you need to listen to something from her solo career, like a song called Victim of Ritual (the live version from Woodstock 2016). :)

I was a teen during the Tarja-era, so to me, this is peak Nightwish, even though I recognize that Floor has a bigger range in her vocals. At the time, there were some HEAVY rumors that the woman Toumas wrote so many unrequited love songs about was Tarja. Once she left the band, he more or less stopped writing love songs, which is a pity, bc those are the ones I like best, they’re so hauntingly beautiful 🥺 And of course, this Ghost of a love score was part of the last album that featured Tarja, where it seems as if someone has accepted that their big love story with a happy ending won’t ever happen. Check out the Tarja-version of Ever Dream (End of an Era), and see for yourself if you think there’s any truth to those rumors ✨

The best version...

There are songs where I prefer Floor's version, and songs where I prefer the original singer's. This one is Floor's for me: how she changes it up in the second half and the addition of that final note are just perfect. Plus, the Wacken video is so much better (I find parts of this unwatchable with the fast cuts, quick pans, & manual zooms). Things I particularly like here are (1) the lyric "singing on the shoulders" rather than "sitting", and (2) having the orchestra and choir higher in the mix. For Tarja (TAR-yah), try _Sleeping_ _Sun,_ _Nemo,_ or _Walking_ _in_ _the_ _Air._

Tarja did a great job with this song,however, this was not a populair song at the time, Nemo,Phantom of the opera,wish i had a angel were much more populair. Floor made GLS more populair. I think that discussions about better is always about preference of the voicing not so much the quality and technicly there is just one big diffrence between Tarja and Floor; Tarja =mostly opera ,Floor= very diverse. Stage presence is a bit different to but, both have a special atraction.It's just nice to have the choise for some songs,wich version you prefer but,if you prefer one,it makes no sence to say that the other is bad,technicly Tarja and Floor are acomplished singers and the preference has nothing to do with the quality of these ladies.

Hello Tequila Jimmy and Gringa, there is no doubt that both singers are phenomenally talented. Fortunately, you don't have to compare the two or judge them. Yet there is a big difference between them and that is (in my opinion) their attitude, their attitude towards their audience. They say: "Tarja wants to shine, but Floor wants to serve". The big difference between the two versions is the difference in volume of the orchestral part and the (background) choir, which is much louder in the 2005 End of an Era version, Tarja fades away and I think that was also Tuoma's intention. (She was also sent away after this concert) In contrast, in the 2013 Wacken Open Air version these are much more delicate and Floor is in the foreground. She completes them, takes direct control of the audience and complements the choir part with her power singing. Where in the Tarja version the choir takes over the lead, Tarja fades out. Floor, however, refuses to be sent away and takes control. She becomes the new voice of Nightwish and will stay forever.

Gringa has a little performer in her soul! Great performance. This version has a much more pronounce orchestra and choir in the mix. However, I miss Floor's epic ending and the Note! Annette was a great studio vocalist. However, she did not have the vocal style to perform the more intense and operatic type of Nightwish compositions. IMHO. For me it is more to do with interpretation than singing skills. There is no question if Tarja could sing those high notes or not. Tarja interprets Tuomas's feelings as they were when he composed this masterpiece and as it was ment to be. Floor asked Tuomas if she may add those high notes in the end and that was ok for him. It was understandable because the original meaning of the song was gone with Tarja. So Floor made the song totally different in atmosphere. She is a wonderful singer but the feeling was lost

I'm very happy you guys did this excellent song sung this time by Tarja. Different versions are always welcome. Everybody obviously loves Wacken 2013 but I would love you to look at the Buenos Aires version 2019 - the energy at that gig was off the chart - please take a look at that gig if only privately for yourselves - the emotion on Floor's face after she hits that high note is one of total joy and priceless! Remember this so well, saw it live in Finland 2004. I was actually sure there's no way this can be played live...boy they proved me wrong. Although the song that was most touching to me on that evening was Phantom of The Opera. Still gives me chills just to remember how magnificent it was.

Did you notice that the arrangements of this song for Floor and Tarja are different? In Tarja's version choir has a very big role in song, while in Floor's version choir is muted and more attention is paid to Floor's vocals than to choir. Both Floor and Tarja have completely different moods when singing this song. In Tarja's version it is more melancholic sounding, young unhappy love, when whole world is falling apart. In Floor's version sound is more optimistic, as if it's not first time a mature person has experienced unhappy love and realizes that it's not fatal and life goes on. But both singers perfectly convey emotions inherent in this song, each in their own way. Most interesting thing is that studio version of this song also has a lot of differences, in it Tarja sings in a different tone, higher and softer. I love Tarja's vocals. Tuomas is Nightwish's dad, and Tarja is Nightwish's mom.

Great to watch and proud my recommendation about this version. Thank you for this video. As Nightwish fan since 2005, i prefer Tarja of course. This is my early youth, my student years, when gothic style was so popular. I dont want argue about who is better, but Nightwish with Tarja got name and fame. This original operatic, gothic, mystic, orchestral style did special mind blowing in metal music of that time. Tuomas is fantastic composer and united awesome musicians. Yes, time is running forward and never be the same. Floor is great. She versatile, although overrated in my opinion. But Tarja is unique in her one own way as modern operatic phenomenon which created big generation interesting people. And Floor never be in this way(operatic/gothic/mystic/orchestral/fantasy) so great, but she can it in her way, not better or worse) thanks one more time😊

Sorry, compared to Floor this version is inferior on all levels. Tarja sings this song haltingly, with exaggerated opera effect. While Floor gives it her everything without trying too much, resulting in angelic singing that touches the core of your being.
