My personal song of the year 2024 and top3 of nightwish in a second. When Floor goes into her emotional mode you can sleep outside in the woods of a finnish winter and still be warmed by her voice and feel comfortable. Much Love from Germany to you and your passionate reactions!
Yeah at this point, I have seen a decent handful of Nightwish songs and this really brought it all home. Like, bases loaded and the star of the team hit a grand slam. Love it. I'm here for it all.
In an interview Floor said she cried when Tuomas played the song to her and told her what the song is about, she also wanted this to be the last video. Tuomas is a mastermind in creating beautiful ballads, I love all of them and he did THE ballad to Floor ❤
Yes, that was a tear you saw in Floor’s eye. She said that there were multiple takes doing this song as she became very emotional. If you know Floor, then you know that she is a HSP (Highly Sensitive Person). 😄🤘
Great reaction! When listening to this beautiful song I always need tissues. Gone is the hurt, the wait, gone is the warmth of day. A stray boat saved, happy memories engraved, on into a velvety night, beneath a lanternlight. Last night brought the heaviest of snows melting the songs of old, tying the boat, write a new one soon, sending me to the drowning moon, far above a lanternlight. I'm in the light and flood, I'm in the four winds, I am the waves shaping pebbles flawless gems, I am the snow on your palm. I am the secret stream, moss beneath your feet, I am you who climbed off of my back not long ago, a sheltered song in a world now gone, petrichor, the timeless. Turn loose the swaying boat, meltwater, sound of spring. I hear our song now, sung by the free, for a thousand more tomorrows of an incomplete weave. To the meadows I go, I’ll be waiting for you once upon a lanternlight. I walk now toward the trees, I am the secret stream, the night falling at my feet into the forest of Yesterwynde.
This song just touched me from the very first note. I was tearing up, though I didn’t quite know why. At the end I was a mess. So yes, I felt the song very deeply. For me it’s rare to like a ballad, but this one hit hard. I’ve obviously heard this song now numerous times, and it still makes me emotional. This song is simply a masterpiece.
Nice one! As to Tuomas' message that someone's passing shouldn't be abt grief but abt celebrating. Good for him. To me it sounds like a rather cerebral exclusion of a fundamental human reaction to death. Really glad that Floor's heartfelt interpretation evokes & embraces all of the emotions that go with it: grief, sadness, fond memories, nostalgia, acceptance, hope, letting go. Her voice & facial expressions show so much more than mere celebration.
You lucky man. Having watched so many Nightwish reactions that there are no Floor songs left it's nice to see people at the start of their journey and know how much is yet to come.
Thank you . Great reaction ..... This song summing up the trilogy of the last 3 albums . And yes Floor was crying , singing this beautiful song just 6 week after the birth of her doughter Lucy at her home in Sweden with the band
Our Metal Mozart strikes you with composition wonder, and our Valkyrie Goddess attaches this to your soul with her voice... Nuff Said!!! NWSU/FloorFan/Epican/Ayreonaut/TWA/PauFan 🤘😎🤘.
Lanternlight is breathtakingly gorgeous ❣️ Not able to listen to this with dry eyes, it goes straight to your soul. It’s so fragile and strong at the same time. What a gorgeous piece of music composed by Tuomas and so emotionally sung by Floor. Tuomas said that Lanternlight is a song of love to celebrate live of the people that passed. In this case mainly his dad. My favorite song from the new album followed by An Ocean of Strange Islands.
There is something unique about this song. 100%, yes everybody is totally blown away by this song. It hits straight in the heart. It is really next level. Nothing compares to it. This is pure genius. No way you can ever listen to this without tearing up, and yes, eternal goosebumps.
Great reaction. Every musiclover feels it. Floor can touch you right in the soul with her emotional voice. Try "An Ocean of Strange Islands". You'll experience the other end of the spectrum of NW
The first time just stopped me. And left me without words. I was overwhelmed, teary eyed and speechless. It was a pause from everyday life, a moment of appreciation. I felt warm and sad and at peace all at the same time. It was an exceptional feeling and awareness of life and death and sorrow and happiness all at the same time. So maybe a feeling of existence in all of it's spectrum. Not a little feeling to be achieved by a song. So a true masterpiece this is. I salute and thank you Nightwish and Mr. Holopainen
I thought it was a beautiful song, but I still have to shed a tear because my I will lose my mother one day. She is already 90 years old so we take every day that we can.
She is exceptional , wonderful human with angel voice I really wonder if she sing in really sad song with powerful of her voice normal people may pass away
This is such an exquisite piece of music. The master, metal Mozart, has done an incredible job writing the last album. I believe Tuomas is singing along with Floor at some point. It's not just Troy. I lost my parents in 2020 (mother) and 2022 (father) and this song makes me think of them. Not sadly but with joy.
I didn't feel sad. I felt a lot of things and yes I can't watch this without crying. It feels more like getting a long hug from a friend when you really need it, if that makes sense.
For me the song hit me more with feelings of nostalgia than with sadness. Knowing Tuomas's father died, my guess is this song is all about remembering his life.
Anyone should watch the interview Floor did with the Charismatic Voice. Floor is diagnosed with hyper sensitivity. In the past she might have said she suffered from it, but now she is more balanced, she finds it is her greatest asset. But it does means (often) the first recording of a song only recorded Floor sobbing, the second recording she might get some lyrics out and maybe the third recording will be a good start.
Nightwish makes even burley hairy men Floorgasm and cry; at the same time❤️🔥 This is the most beautiful, soul gripping, heart stringing, fulfilling, masterful celebration for and remembrance of Tuomas’ (anyone’s) father ❤️🔥 Tuomas is an absolute musical/lyrical genius! My father, (the strongest man I know and the cornerstones of my entire being/life) passed on cpl of years ago; on the waining hour of my Birthday. He had truly endured physically and emotionally for over 20 years after multiple strokes and other health challenges. His peaceful passing on was a true blessing; so much so that I had yet to shed one tear; until now! The combination of Tuomas’ yet another compositional and lyrical masterpiece and its manifestation by Floor and Troy finally opened my floodgates 💦💦😭 No amount of Finnish 🇫🇮 inner strength enhancing, emotion blocking, words (sisu, saatana, perkele) could hold back the desperately needed and necessary outpouring of emotions, reflections, remembrance, appreciation, flashbacks, re-lived joy and eternal love. Genuine tears do have healing powers! Tuomas, Floor, Nightwish, “Lanternlight” - ❤️🔥and thank you to The G.O.A.T. IMHO, there has never been, there will never be, another Nightwish!
There are some bands that can match Nightwish, in certain styles of songs? There are NO bands that can get near the range of types and genres of music Nightwish can produce to such a ridiculous level. That is what sets Nightwish apart. A week before this, one of the most beautiful ballads ever released we had An Ocean of Strange Islands, one of the best metal songs. Its like putting Master Passion Greed alongside Meadows of Heaven and trying to explain to a new listener...no, its the same band, same album...
Hi Dane, have you heard the new single from VOB , the song is Mighty Island. Please check this out. Thank you, always appreciate your comments on VOICE OF BACEPROT
Hi Dane ,long time no see..sending you few sugestions of Dino Jelusic, looking forward for your opinions. "The look", "Fly high again"live,"Carry on" live acustic, concert Zvjezdano nebo(stary nights) Karlovac...so enjoy....hope
In all honesty, I did not feel sadness per se, upon my initial listen...more a "slightly disturbed, reflective, melancholy" - slightly disturbed in that upon the first few listens it has some musical changes that seemed somewhat disjointed (knowing Tuomas' music, this was probably purposeful give the nature of greif). I have now heard this song probably 20 times and my familiarity has lessened the "disjointed" impression, although I still get a slight sense of it. Having said that, this is a beautiful song, that I really enjoy. Cheers!
