There is another spoken part just before this video starts where Marko says that he is just 1 man in front of 20k so he better come up with something. And that the other 'weasels' doubled back and left him. Glad the 'weasels' came back. 🤣. Next at Tampere is "Elan".

Not a song from Nightwish that you hear that often, so to me a bit of a ‘hidden gem’ Marco has a great backing singer 😂, lucky fella! Makes me feel sad that Marco is no longer with them but it’s good to know that he is still making music! You always make a great reaction analysis, that’s what makes the difference between you and a lot of ‘them’!

Marko has a little bit of a campfire singer in his soul. You called it Nikki. The members of Nightwish love their craft and it is never work for them. He-et-ala. The I is pronounce as an E. Definitely a sleeper song. Love the sea shanty vibe.

Marko's instrument, lovingly dubbed "The Beast", is a custom combination of a Warwick bass and Framus guitar. As I recall, it weighs upwards of 15 pounds, which is why he almost always plays it balanced on his knee while he puts his foot up on a monitor.

Such an underrated Nightwish song. Don't get me wrong there are lots of good ones they've done, but this isn't recommended nearly enough for reactions. I really enjoyed seeing your reaction to this, miss Marco since he left the band, and am still excited to see one last album from them later. They might be done after that one...

We all know that Floor`s singing always wonderful , Marko to me has the best male voice that I have ever heard also. I miss him but I think Troy is picking up the slack rather well.

Great showcase for Marko! Always cool to see reactions to when the rest of the band comes in, though. It's kind of a surprise, and it really lifts the song to an even higher level. This has to be the best version, but the official music video is great too.

The video from Anette's time is good. Although Anette does sing backup, you don't really hear her. The video is really worth seeing.

In Finnish double vowels you usually pronounce both separately, so "Hee-ett-aala".

There is another video same performance, but with some introduction words, basicly its Marko saying,, the other weasels went of, so your stucked with me, i better come up with something right!! this is best live performance i belive, the official video is also very cool, one of the best NW official videos..

So different than other songs of Nightwish, but somehow fits to them very well. Great review and analysis as always Nikki.

You can check the official video for this song which is an Annette era song it is good, and I do love her as a vocalist, but this live version is musically better all-around in my opinion the OV does capture the storyline quite well, however. Looking forward to the next one you do!

Marko and Floor sound so well together 🥰 Edit : For Marko's last name pronounciation, I'll try to help you, but it hard for a french speaker to guide an english speaker pronounce a finnish name 😀 The "i" followed by the "e" is more pronounced like in... let's say "Daniela" (yes, it's a first name you know, even if we generally say "Dany" ;-) ) And the "a" are also said like in "Daniela" I hope it helps 🙂

I read somewhere that it must be something to say that you had Floor Jansen as a backup singer.

The GOOD artists show emotion. Unfortunately all the bland formula 'pop' that fills the media and radio stations is almost totally lacking it - which makes it worthless IMO. Thank the stars for bands with integrity like Nightwish.

Dark passion play is good album but Anettes work got ignored cos of the arguments about the other 2 singers.

Too bad that you picked up this shorter version.

Everytime I see that double neck guitar my mouth waters. That is one beautiful looking and sounding piece of equipment and Marko knows exactly what to do with it. I always wanted to play, I could play some of the notes but I couldn't make the music. If you wanna hear another Marko gem, listen to the Pink Floyd tribute song "High Hopes" from the End of an Era concert. Ya might want to listen the original High Hopes by Pink Floyd so you know what Tuomas was working with as he and Marko came up with the tribute. There are no words to describe the end result. Marko at his very best.
